But Willie seems a friendly sort and multi-talented to boot! Good luck to him. How nice of you to help him out and for him to share his special and amazing location! P.S. Around 1950's My mother wanted me to know how to sew on a button, Then mend a button hole. For Christmas I got a sewing kit from Santa Claus . i remember that it was like a little picnic basket with a padded silk cloth top and when I opened it I saw a little packet of pins, small scissors, a very little doll and a pattern for a dress for the doll and needles. Now in the middle of the inside lid was a ribbon loop and in that loop was a small silver thumbell and it fit my finger perfectly. I was so happy. The other present was a walking doll with a pattern to make her more clothes. I did have fun that year. LOL Susann 73

Very true! Though these days there are laws and regulations in place. Back then there was nothing stopping companies adding whatever poison they wanted in their products. x
@@NorthernMudlarks Food was heavily adulterated before laws about food handling and chemical fillers. Milk was often watered down and had plaster added to cut down on costs. In England, as cities grew, milk didn’t get hauled in from the countryside to the poorer areas. Often a dairy in town consisted of few cows fed by the fermented grain which had been used by brewers next door. The milk wasn’t nutritious to begin with because the diet of the cows wasn’t good. Bread was also adulterated with sawdust and plaster, if you can imagine. And bread was often the only food the poor could afford. If they drank beer, as most people did because water was usually contaminated, it was probably the most nutritious item in their diet.

The tea pot lid with the dog on it reminds me of the type of dogs that were on either side of the fireplace. My Mom called them Wallie Dugs. We are from Scotland immigrated to America in 1957.
I had a proper Proust madeleine moment when I spotted the tiny wee glass bottle. Probably from a broken advert keyring. As a kid I used to play with similar vintage miniature French keyrings ranging from 1950s-70s from my grandparents collection. So thanks for reminding me of a lost childhood memory.
I think the little ceramic piece with the anchor, cross and heart with a yellow flame is a holy water stoup to bless yourself as you come into the house. My grandmother had one.
The video where the camera is in the hole looking up with Mom in the background and you finding a treasure is like a magical bit from a fantastic movie your cinamatography in that is just perfect. Your videos are getting better and better...

Glad you enjoyed it! Willie is very tallented x
Oh, that's interesting - thanks for sharing! xx
I think the little ceramic piece with the anchor, cross and heart with a yellow flame is a holy water stoup to bless yourself as you come into the house. My grandmother had one.
Fantastic finds and wonderful music.
Thank you! xx
The video where the camera is in the hole looking up with Mom in the background and you finding a treasure is like a magical bit from a fantastic movie your cinamatography in that is just perfect. Your videos are getting better and better...
