YES!!!! I feel the same way. I can put on one or several or MORE of these videos, one after the other and totally loose myself in them. I can shut out the craziness of the outside world and not just enjoy the treasures they find, they're reactions of joy when they find something but, also the beautiful, loving interaction between a mother and daughter. I am very thankful that I have a similar connection with my oldest daughter. Those bonds can not be measured or compared to anything else in this world or some other reality. It's priceless! Something that for me is much needed right now. I feel that if I don't "turn off" I will literally go crazy and take everyone with me!! 😳😉 Not purely a joke... Quite a lot of truth in it...

I love your channel. I was thinking that when you find the broken bottles that have larger portions broken, and you wish it were whole to make it lovely again like you do with broken doll's heads. Build up the broken side with chicken wire (hardware sheet), pack with appropriate soil, and fill in with succulent cuttings. I think they'd be so lovely again. I enjoy making broken shells and the like beautiful with gold leafing on the edges. You ladies are wonderful. Thank you for repurposing, finding joy in the small things, and bringing life back to the overlooked.

What fabulous finds today..I remember those little ink bottles Mum would buy them and Dad would write our names to go into our school clothes on a cotton tape that came with it.He used to sew it into our clothes to.He was in the Navy and used to sew his own badges on his uniform.Mum sadly was not very good with sewing…They always looked so neat and tidy and the ink never faded. Also my Dad had beautiful handwriting.I also think the two smaller glass milk borrows you found. The smallest was for cream and the next one for either School Milk or my favourite I had when I visited my Grandparents an Orange Juice bottle. It tasted better than any other I have ever tasted lol.School milk was too cold in the winter or too warm in the Summer.I used to hate it .But it was compulsory then..I forgot about this until I saw the bottles. But it did mean that even children from the poorest families had milk every day..So I think that helps a bit ..Gives my age away a bit.But in those days kids played out until the street lights came on.Had adventures.Lots of camps, imaginary games and fun.Without a computer!phone or tablet. They also read more too.Kids now are always bored. No imagination .Thank you for the adventure through time and letting me watch Dad again..Love n Light 🥰

don't know where your from Christine but think your from my neck of the woods. I too still remember the milk bottles loved the ice in winter but hated in summer .loved the orange juice ,used to come from baby clinics, mums were given lots of stuff to look after them. remember all the meat paste jars. used to love taste of fennings fever cure. mum used to give us malt and cod liver oil on a spoon, you used to have to keep hold of the spoon till you sucked it all off.Im 70 and still got a jar now.New one of course.tried it on kids and grandkids they all think it's foul.must be me that's weird. you can still get the orange juice now you can get it delivered with your milk from the milkman. sorry for rabbiting on . strange how all those things were part of people's childhood. whereabouts are all these bottles all together like that such different types. fascinating.

The stopper with the slit on the top is for either a decorative string or wire closure to keep it on its bottle. The clear glass one with the raised wings is from a Ball type canning jar from the USA. Used to self preserve vegetables and pickles. The wooden pipe is similar to my dads pipes. It looks like walnut or Hickory which are both very hard woods that don't burn easily. Looks like another visit is in your future.

The unusual glass lid at 9:03 belongs to a type of canning jar invented in 1882 by Henry W. Putnam from Essex, New York. The lid was held in place by a wire loop and lever, called Lightning fastener, that would clamp down onto it to close the jar securely. The Putnam Lightning jar was made by at least 11 companies from the 1880s to the 1920s. Sending love from Québec, Canada. xxx

So glad to see you show up. Love the purple glass jar. When I was a teenager, years ago, we moved to Boulder City, Nevada. Lots of homes there had flat roofs and on them were these metal cages that the locals would put bottles in so they could bake in the hot sun and turn purple. The darker the better. It's is still very popular today. Don't know if they still do that. I live in northern Nevada now. Thanks you for your very enjoyable videos.

    • @donnastockwell296

People I used to know put jars up on their roof also, so they would turn purple. That was a long time ago, in Apple Valley, California. That is, before the high desert turned into the wall, to wall, suburbs. Too bad.

I have been on a beach with so much glass and tears streaming down my face because I couldn't physically bend one more time. I know this video isn't new and you might not read this post but , I'm going to try to reach out anyhow... ☺
I'm a fairly new subscriber, that is currently binge watching all of your videos. 😁(Didn't get to bed until 4 in the morning last night/morning. Just one more and then, just one more... LOL) Enjoying myself thoroughly!! As well as finding it very tranquil/calming watching the both of you. It is so wonderful to see the mother and daughter interaction and, that you are doing something you both love together. I wish more families would practice the togetherness. I do believe it would strengthen the bonds between parent and children and make the world a much more peaceful society.
Anyhow, I'm finding that I'm nearly as happy as you guys are when you find your "treasures". Most other folks wouldn't even take the time to look down, much less pick whatever up, which is a crying shame since so much of our history is within those finds.
Also, I've been going through a very rough patch this past year so, thank you for your wonderful videos and finds that are bringing both peace and happiness to my heart.
One question. Have you ever thought of or, perhaps you already have a selling page/site where one could not only buy the beautiful jewelry that you craft but also various bottles. I absolutely LOVE the tiny bottles, both for putting small items in but, also for when I make my herbal tinctures/elixirs etc. I know I can buy new bottles but, I'd much rather have the old bottles with the history. I'm in Sweden, so I know I'd most likely have to pay custom fee's on what is shipped here, unless Scotland is still a member of the EU? I don't keep up to date on those things. Regardless, I would very much feel it was worth it. I have no idea where I could find authentic old tiny bottles here in Sweden and dumps/dig sites such as you have over there, I've never heard of on this side of the "bay".
Much love and happy future hunting's ❤🙏

I liked the shape of the jar at 9:20 just at the bottom of the screen between two other bottles. The two meat paste jars at 24:37 are so cute. Oh my goodness, this video had me trying to catch my breath. There were so many bottles, pots, and other beautiful things. It definitely was the jack pot. I hope you go back there and find more wonderful things. I want to come with you both and mudlark this place. Love you ladies and how much you educate all of us. Thank you

    Just WOW!
It must have taken days to clean all those bottles.
I loved the history of Ponds, as Oneida County is in my neck of the woods in NYS. (Well a few hours East, as I’m in Ontario County.)

You are so fortunate to live where you live and to have all that history. Today’s hall was the very best of everything. The flower pots and all the bottles the medicine bottles and pate dishes jam jars and pipes. What is even more special is the lovely relationship you both have with each other and the interest that is so special. What a lovely mother daughter relationship I am so happy for you both. I just love your channel but especially videos like this one it reminds me of your early videos. You have a way of making me feel like i am right there with you. I wish I could support you financially but I’m old and not able to work anymore. I can support you with word of mouth which I do every chance I get. If you travel you are always welcome to visit Lots of love from Diane in upstate New York.

    “…and another bottle! …and another bottle! …and another bottle!…”
I have dreams like this where I find endless items and there are just too many to carry… It’s very unsettling because I eventually lose them all while trying to collect them and carry them.

Must of been the town dump. You are so lucky to have places like that. My husband I used to go to the old Wapello,Iowa USA dump, lots of bottles and dishes from from the 1900s on.

@@Yellow-Rose it’s an old ash refuse tip. Bottle diggers have already been there and taken the bottles they collect. The ones that are left are the ones they haven’t wanted.

I love that you reclaim historical treasures through searching through the layers of time. I just want to know the history of when all these bottles were dumped to get a vision of why they did this. I am glad that you can reap-the harvest of history and bottles through time. I love your knowledge of your finds .

I don't think people thought about the results of dumping huge piles of trash everywhere like we do these days. When all the bottles were dumped, there would have been all sorts of other trash with them that has since returned to the dirt now protecting them. I can imagine it even smelled like our refuse dumps do now. They would have never guessed people would be digging through their old trash, while others watch at home, and finding things they love.😊

Whoever dumped the bottles should have been fined with sacrificial damage 💔 and fly tipping. BUT the likes of me and, of course you, would not see and learn of their history. Thank you for sharing your stories xx
