    cpu ratio means 1:1,1:2,1:4?

    • @gnancloudgarage
      @gnancloudgarage  Рік тому +1

      In the context of capacity planning, the term "CPU ratio" is often used to describe the relationship between the number of virtual CPUs (vCPUs) allocated to virtual machines (VMs) and the physical CPU cores on a host machine in a virtualized environment.
      For example:
      1:1 Ratio:
      • Each virtual machine is allocated one vCPU for every physical CPU core on the host.
      • If a host has 8 physical CPU cores, each VM is allocated 8 vCPUs.
      1:2 Ratio:
      • Each virtual machine is allocated two vCPUs for every physical CPU core on the host.
      • If a host has 8 physical CPU cores, each VM is allocated 16 vCPUs.
      1:4 Ratio:
      • Each virtual machine is allocated four vCPUs for every physical CPU core on the host.
      • If a host has 8 physical CPU cores, each VM is allocated 32 vCPUs.
      Choosing an appropriate CPU ratio in capacity planning involves balancing the needs of individual VMs with the overall capacity of the host machine.
      It's important to consider factors such as the workload of each VM, the performance requirements of applications running on the VMs, and the total capacity of the physical host.
      A higher CPU ratio allows for more VMs to run concurrently but may result in increased contention for CPU resources, potentially affecting performance.
      Conversely, a lower CPU ratio provides more dedicated CPU resources to each VM but may lead to underutilization of the host machine.
