I’m not even the biggest Dr. Strange fan, but this figure looked so visually appealing I had to pick it up. I love the classic Dr. Strange design and this one actually looked like a collectible rather than a cheap kids toy. Definitely a standout in my figure case!
This figure is exactly why I've been so harsh on Legends lately.
This is a great figure and it's proof of what Hasbro could do if they just tried 10% more than they do. Sure, this figure cost like 2 or 4 dollars more, but I would happily pay that if every legends was done this well.
Enough accessories and even just the slightest bit of unique sculpting go such a long way. This and Zemo both, it's incredible how just that little bit of effort makes these feel like not another simple bucky cap repaint.
I love the classic designs. They pop more on a shelf compared to something like the mcu designs and they are more iconic to the characters
I got this for my Dad for his Birthday and he was beyond thankful and excited.

A Marvel Legends with a 9/10? Wow! Haven't seen that on a Legends figure since the Armored Daredevil I believe
Agree, just wish it was pinless and the cape was removable.
The classic designs are basically all I want. This was more expensive than a normal release, but I'd rather pay a few bucks more if they're gonna do them like this one
The gold accessory is The Wand of Watoomb, one of his main
magical artifacts.
The worst think about it is that this thing is a exclusive! We get a lot of bad and mediocre figures in the regular waves, and when they do a good job, they make it a exclusive! I 'm with you,usually, they don't do a good work with the classics, which are by far the best designs!
I only buy classic comic based ML, with a couple of exceptions from time to time and I 100% agree with all your critics.
I think that specially now with this up graded price this overall quality should be the base for every ML action figure.

Love the classic designs. Can’t wait for the retro carded/fan channel repaint with lighter blue chest symbol, orange-yellow gloves and sash, and blue pants that match the tunic.
At this stage, I'm gunning mostly for classic looks. I got this one a week or so ago and I love it, though I did add an extra slit on the other side of the tunic to add range. Might also go in the trim of the cape and fill in those lines with a paint pen.
Tons of value in this release even with the mods I wanted to do. Blue head isn't totally accurate to this version of Strange but it's appreciated. If all MLs were like this, I wouldn't take issue with any price increases.
As always a thoroughly succinct review Anthony! Well done sir! Got mine back in March after pre ordering in October. I don’t feel cheated of my money either. You had one gripe I had. The cloak although cool; limits head articulation. I may go in with a thin sharpie and bring out the cloak edge details.
I got to say you Marvel Legends collectors are spoiled, LOL!
Since I can't afford SH Figuarts figures for the most part (I have a few that I got for decent prices--Captain Ginyu, Jeice, Super Buu and Goku Black) and because I'm a huge DBZ fan, I've been collecting the *Dragon Ball Super* : _Dragon Stars_ line...
My God, that line has issues! They can't even give you an ab-crunch at a $20-$25 price point!
it's just ridiculous, imo, how I am paying the same for Dragon Star fig as you would pay for a Marvel Legend, and compared to the Dragon Stars, the Marvel Legends might as well _ _be_ SH Figuarts quality, LOL!
I recently bought a Hasbro 6" G.I. Joe "B.A.T.", or _"Battle Android Trooper"_ and a 6" _Snake-Eyes._
Those figures just amazed me! They reminded me of how even (what used to cost) 10$ Marvel Univerd Figs had better detailing snd argiculation (I mean, MU figs had _at least some_ sort of ab-crunches, for heaven's sake!
For just twenty bucks-- the same price point as the Dragon Stars line --the G.I. Joe figs have so much more to offers but they seemed so much better so much more quality in them

Yes, I do like the classic Doctor Strange! I just want the figures in my collection to look like the heroes I remember from when I read the comics growing up.
I don't mind some of the movie designs-- like I have some of the 3 and 3 quarter scale Marvel movie figures from the Iron Man 2 movie line and the Thor movie line and the Avengers movie line.
My Marvel collection is 3 and 3/4 because when I started collecting Marvel Legends at disappeared and Marvel Universe was what was out so I collected Marvel Universe like I said the movie lines that were in front of reporters and I also collected some of the Spider-Man figures from the 3 and 3/4 inch lines they had some pretty good. And I got the Masterworks Galactus with Silver Surfer and the Masterworks Sentinel from the X-Men and they are just awesome especially Galactus
I hate that now it's all 6in again. I have no interest in rebuilding a collection of almost 200 figures with 6in Replacements that are going to cost a fortune and they don't even have all the figures that I have and I doubt they'll release some of them and I've made customs of things like the classic Scorpion and the classic Dr Spectrum and speed demon to go with the Marvel Universe Hyperion and the Marvel Universe Nighthawk I think they came out awesome too I used the newer Marvel Universe medium-sized body that they had for like super soldier Steve Rogers and Daredevil the 2nd Daredevil that body it was great but I digress I just wish they still had Marvel Universe but yes I like the classic looks it reminds me of the heroes I read and loved as a kid and young adult cheers all :-)

I just picked up this guy. Great figure
I want him for a defenders team.
A decent sculpt in need of a repaint. The tunic should be lighter blue, and the symbol even lighter. And the cloak looks like ketchup and mustard; should have been the red and gold from the previous comic Strange figure. And perhaps the gloves and sash could have been less bright and plastic-y.
I've swapped mine out with the old one, and repainted the tunic to be comic accurate, and it looks 100% better. Maybe they'll give us a re-release.
I loved the 2016 Dormammu BAF wave modern Doctor Strange with the cloak and while that figure was good in my opinion, I might pick up this classic Doctor Strange figure because he is the best Doctor Strange ever, thank you Anthony for the reviews.

You can thank Paul Harding for the head sculpts, though the head seems a hair too big, is it me?
I don't think it's too big since he's not built like a superhero and has puffy hair.

Good call. Wired capes are the only soft goods that look good at this scale, but man, do they ever make a difference. Poseability goes through the roof.
I repainted the eyes of my retro green goblin and discovered how painful is to paint yellow, and that's just a small part, I can't imagine it for a big cape

Wow. 9/10 haven't seen anything above 7-8 in a very long while. This is Walmart exclusive but have NEVER seen it IRL. might order from Walmart page but it's a lot more pricey..

On a slightly related note (about good Hasbro figures), you plan on picking up that Lightning Collection Finster figure? I know you dropped that line a while ago because they were halfassing it, but some of their current offerings seem to have more thought put into them, Finster being a pretty good example. I have zero attachment to MMPR and I picked one up just to own it and maybe turn it into a Puppet Master.

@@AnthonysCustoms Ah, bummer. It is a really solid figure. I was hoping you'd still pick and choose some of the monster figures, since they've been doing a better job with some of them. But I guess you were really done when you said you were done with the line.

I know many People who collect marvel legends consider that paint a figure is a sin, but the legends painted with airbrush and brush and good paint makes a big difference, especial when you shade de colors

Great videos always, but have to respectfully disagree that marve legends are for adults… at the very least a “free for all” type of product but i think that any scalper whos 30+ would use that excuse while theyre clearing out an entire marvel legends section in a store. Such as the new cel shaded spidey, ppl arent nice enough to just get 2 (1 to open, 1 to keep in box) but no

I'm a fan of the classic design for the most part except for the leggings. I wish he had baggy pants instead or something. Idk the leggings are a bit too sexy for me. The cheetah print gloves are nice though.

That cloak is awful. They even reversed the colors on the back of his collar. Otherwise, it seems okay.
