She plays such a quiet, reserved, and fragile sort of character in Last Night in Soho, but that mirror scene (as vaguely as possible) where she’s screaming “Look at me” was fucking terrifying.
I love it that she is simply called Tom. She's so precious. It's like you forever want to protect her from the notorious bad influence of the glitzy Hollywood. But she's so well-grounded and genuinely humble. I wish her all the best. I can't wait to see her upcoming new projects!
People started knowing her from Jojo Rabbit but honestly, y'all have to see her breakout performance in Leave No Trace, she was fantastic in that underrated movie. Edgar Wright cast her after seeing her in Leave No Trace. Such an underrated indie movie
I heard about that movie a year or two ago through either Facebook or Portland Film Festival - I work in film locally and thought it was a film right up my alley to watch because I like the outdoors but never ended up watching it. Now that I know she's in it and she must've been out here filming for it (unless they went up to BC?) I'll definitely have to give it a watch! Full circle, some of these things 😂
"Starstruck by Audrey Hepburn" - I KNEW it. Thomasin always struck me as someone channeling Audrey, with all her delicate, humble, lithe mannerisms and way of speaking
She’s my new crush, quite literally.🥰 Her soothing voice and charming personality really blown me away, and also with that angelic face that captures my whole attention throughout the interview.❤️
What absolute sweetheart! She was fantastic in Last Night in SoHo and really showed her diversity as an actress in that I think. She’d be perfect in a fantasy role and I really hope she gets one someday. Plus her voice is so calming and relaxing, she’d be brilliant in ASMR.
She’s got to be the sweetest mannered actress in recent memory. She was fab in Jojo Rabbit, but she was terrific in the new movie. Hope it puts her on the map as a actress of strong and likeable characters.
@@rafifariq8527 I don’t really pay attention to that kind of thing. I’d seen some of the ratings the film was getting, and they were quite mixed, and I also saw some critics who’s reviews I often agree with and trust, saying it’s worth seeing, as an original interesting film. So, I saw it. I thought she was great. Honestly her voice never crossed my mind. Yeah I guess it wasn’t a perfect voice considering her character grew up in the West Country of England and at times she sounded kinda like a mixture of accents both British and foreign accents, but it didn’t really take away anything from her performance and her story around the film’s characters. Feel like that was more integral to my enjoyment of the film for me, did it invest me, was it visually interesting, is the music good, was the story good? I tend to focus on things like that, so one character with an odd accent isn’t going to bring the film down opinion wise.
She's from New Zealand. New Zealanders are quite down-to-earth people and friendly people. Singer Hayley Westenra from New Zealand is also this lovely.
pretty inspiring to see someone from my small little home country making it big in what they do, especially with New Zealand being as small as it is :)) she is so talented and really is amazing 💕

Funny she said she'd like to play an elf, because a friend and I started throwing out names for who would play Zelda if they ever did a Legend of Zelda movie, and we agree she'd actually be a pretty good pick (even if it's animated: I think she has an interesting voice for it).
she's literally the cutest person
IKR!!
Definitely ❤️
I really want to go in New Zealand. And i can't wait to see her next next movie or maybe a tv show.
@@QuilalaPhilippe yeah same here I hope she will premiere a movie 1 of these days
@YellowDogArtistry same here
Its so refreshing to see a young actor who seems genuinely nice and innocent and doesn't have an ego
Exactly what I never want to go away
Yes, I'm talking to you, Maddie Ziegler
Yeah i hope her breakthrough in Hollywood wont do anything to her

My favorite scene

Would have been such an amazing movie if they didn’t turn it into a horror film.
Yeah it was terrifying. The score elevated it highly too
@@RemedyUnderTheSun uh, that’s exactly what it was marketed as

she's just so amazing
her voice is like a 1940s actress, its lovely
I was looking for someone saying this hahahahahha so truee
It made me think of Kristen Wiig's impression of Bjork. That would be a good skit - a Bjork talk show interviewing Thomasin.
It's Audrey Hepburn
She has a very strong Kiwi accent, sort of like a North Dakota accent for an American.
That’s probably one of the reasons why she was cast as the Jewish girl in Jojo Rabbit

She is beautiful.
Her performance was incredible in Leave No Trace. Got me crying every time when I watch that film.

Anya Taylor Joy was heavily used to promote Last Nite in Soho but McKenzie acting in the film stole the show definitely a new Hollywood is Born

Her voice is very relaxing. I almost had deep long sleep.
She's one of those people who seem very young and very old at the same time.

Oh my god, she’s a Totoro fan, love her even more now
I saw her as an actress in Old (2021) and Last Night In Soho (2021), she seems very calm too! ❤
I think Thomasin McKenzie is already a fairy (or an Elf) posing as a human. She's so adorable, with a quiet dignity, and grace.
