Grew up in the projects at this time. Someone would have window open with speakers blaring Al Green, Barry White, Marvin Gaye, Rufus featuring Chaka Khan. Everyone sitting in lawn chairs grooving to the music. Very special time 💗💜
"Tell me something good". Excellent reminder of great singers.
"Let's Stay Together" by Al Green is one of a kind, unique to the bone & soulfully smoother than melted butter!!! There will never, ever be another Rev. Al Green!!! Mic Drop!!!
So true
Agreed!!! No there will not.
Truer words have never been spoken!!!
I got to put an "Amen" on that!!!
Reverend Al is the MAN!!!
It’s a must that you do Al Green’s cover of the Bee Gee’s song “How Can You Mend A Broken Heart”.
Played 10 times at my wedding reception because everyone kept requesting it. I have had this album since 1970s. ❤
Why do you like these romantic, smooth old jams? Because you fell in love, and have a child. Now these cuts have meaning to you, and they always will.
HOW CAN YOU MEND A BROKEN HEART, the Live Version and FOR THE GOOD TIMES, are my faves by Al Green after LETS STAY TOGETHER.
This is one of my all time favorite songs, and I'm usually a classic rock guy, Van Halen and AC/DC type stuff, But _THIS_ song is _FIRE_ , you feel me?
Great song, I can't believe this is from 1971. I was 13 at the time and I still have the single to this day. I would have this song in my top 40 somewhere, certainly not at #60. Funny thing is that back in the day, there were songs like this everywhere ! Nice too see a young ones like you and your other half appreciate the older music. Make sure she hears this one. This song has a great chill vibe going on. I almost feel bad for young ones today because music like this doesn't exist in today's world and most young ones haven't a clue. Stuff like this was common everywhere and just normal in the sixties and seventies. ☮️✌️💕👌
Great oldie but goodie.💕. Your family has good taste 👍👍💘. Great singers in the day,. Al green, Percy sledge, Otis Redding. 🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶💕💕💕💕💕💕💕
1971 I was introduced to Al Green Music. And I never looked back this man has a great catalog of music and begin with the song!!!
This song is playing around the world ❤❤❤
Ooooh such a jam! You’re on the right track, son. Marvin Gaye-Sexual Healing would be a great choice to do next.
A True Soul Classic,,
Junior Walker & The All Stars "What Does It Take"
Tired of Being Alone is another great smooth song by Al Green. Hes one of my favorites.
I love al 💙 Green 💙
My mom loved Al Green. I remember when "Love and Happiness"] came out. We all sat around listening to it over and over. So, clearly, I am requesting you react to Love and Happiness. Thank you.
Timeless Classic 💖
Curtis Mayfield "Move On Up" & "So In Love"
...R.I.P. Curtis 🙏 ❤
How many of you know that Mr. Green's backup singers were Country Stars Donna, Sandra Rhodes, and Charles Chalmers. They were the most sought-after backup singers in the Nashville area. Also, I loved them backing up the late Isaac Hayes on the "Hot Buttered Soul" album, the song "One Woman, " which Chalmers-Rhodes wrote
Reckless you just brought me back to my teenage years I know every word of this I had this album thank you ❤️💗💙
This song by Al Green reminds me of Lou Rawls "You'll never find another love like mine" for some reason, I think it's because the voice just matches the song perfectly? Thanks for playing this classic beautiful tune.
As amazing as this song is, Love and Happiness is an even more smooth and groovy vibe. Check it out. Al Green is a legend.
Al Green cover of How Can You Mend a Broken Heart
Live 1972....I believe Al's Best live Performance. WOW....originally sung by Bee Gees....

You just made my day!!! I love me some Al Green.❤❤❤❤
How many of you know that Mr. Green's backup singers were Country Stars Donna, Sandra Rhodes, and Charles Chalmers. They were the most sought-after backup singers in the Nashville area. Great reaction! Your facial expressions were great. We can see you feeling that song. This song stops me in my tracks, literally! This song kisses your soul! You can not help but dance around to this amazingly smooth song that brings all that emotion out. Al knew how to bring that romance.
Love Al Green now this is Music right on !
My mother was in love with Al Green. She always said he was singing about her life.
I grew up with this music and it will forever be a part of my best memories. Especially memories of Mom. We lost her way too soon, she didn't make it to sixty but my memories of her will be with me to my dying day. And Al's music will always be there too.
Now find the album Al Green's greatest hits and listen from beginning to end. It's more than worth the ride.
Good one today, thanks.
Al's voice makes you melt into a puddle! 😁💞
Love Al Green..and love to see you react..your so young!.. Enjoy life couse its not always write..but steel beautiful..💃💓
This song is timeless. He is now Reverend Al Green! But this man could sing.
Al green has one of the best voices you'll ever hear. You should check out him with the band Chicago. They do the song "tired of being alone" and it's great.🔥👍🏼
Al Green/How Can You Mend A Broken Heart. The Bee Gees originally hit #1 with this song in 1970.
Brother Al is The Man.
I have nothing but good memories of Al Green songs. I was at a family reunion a few years back and when this song came on, everybody in the room started singing along with the record. Love & Happiness has got to be on your list of songs to react to. And try some Bill Withers: Lovely Day, Use Me, Grandma's Hand, Ain't No Sunshine, and Just the Two of Us. Great reaction😊
My daughter loves Al green she was only like 10 when she started listening to him and Sinatra and others from back then she's my old soul
Amazing reaction, Rico!! 🤩
-The Reverend Al Green "How Do You Mend A Broken Heart" (LIVE ON SOUL 1972) You're gonna have a stank face!!
GREAT reaction, son!!! You're one of the Top 3 Reactors extant imho. Al Green is fckng phenomenal. Next up should be "Simply Beautiful" (@ 2:15-2:26 he hits a series of notes that will blow your mind) and/or "Tired of Being Alone" - my personal favorite Al Green song. Drivin music, ya feel me✌&❤
The Blackbyrds "Walking In Rhythm"
Archie Bell & The Drells "Tighten Up"
Still so fresh and so soulful after all these years.
Love and Happiness
Makes me happy that new generations are discovering these classics... keep on keeping on!
Incredible song when you want to get your serious groove on ... with someone you want to seriously groove with. Thanks for the share. Also check out his version of the Bee Gee's How Do You Mend a Broken Heart. The Reverend!!!
one of my favorites is Al Green's version of the song ''I want to hold your hand'' (Beatles)
Rev. Green maybe one of the nicest guy ever! Glad to get to run into him often in our hometown.
I'm so glad I'm the product of the '70s and '80s when music was music, I wouldn't want to grow up in any other time
Now see thats real music ty Reckless wow 💙👍☘️
legendary al green
LOVE AND HAPPINESS. You wont regret it.
I was born in 59. This was one of the top favorites. That's back when music and the words were beautiful. Now? Not so much. Makes me very sad
Al Green....is always part of my Sunday morning playlist.....Tina Turner did a great cover versions of this song
As someone who has been married for close to 35 years, this song has new meaning/understanding for me.
Al Green's Love and Happiness is a good one to react to. 🥰
Next Tina Turner's version. Al's 'Take Me to the River', then Talking Heads'. Curtis Mayfield's 'People Get Ready' and then by Jeff Beck with Rod Stewart.
This is before I was born, nevertheless,I believe every word.SING IT TO ME!!!The drums are cool.Sounds like he's tapping the rim?
for real tho, Al Green, Isley Brothers and Marvin Gaye are like the Holy Trinity of baby makin' music imo XD
thats right lil bro, i see you feling all that AL GREEN #soul. listen to all of his in studio recordings i promise you won't be disappointed. btwy, all that soulful background you hear is rooted in GOSPEL
This song always reminds me of "Pulp Fiction". It's in the movie soundtrack.
My thoughts exactly - a lot of people forget about that.
Billy Stewart "I Do Love You"
Oh, yes. Dancing to this at the CYO dances on Saturday evening. Such a good tune. I guess this one passed muster with the padres because it was about a lifetime commitment.
I wish someone was creating music like this again today.....
Al Green is one of the best can you please react to How to mend a broken heart 💯
All awesome Al Green songs in the comments!! I'll just add to them... "For The Good Times"
Marvin Gaye" Let's get it on 'is a great one of those that get you In that love zone. Check it out ! from the OG.

Another great Al Greene song from the book of Eli to checkout is
HOW CAN YOU MEND A BROKEN HEART
Nana knows what's up!
Young man I subscribed to you based on your reaction to this song. I could tell from your facial expressions that you GOT IT from jump street. Personally I put this song in my top five or 10 all-time records. If there's been a more soulful song recorded, I'm not sure what it is?
Love me some Al Green.
When It Comes To Playing Music For Your Woman,, These Are ABSOLUTE MUST PLAYS,, The Isley Brothers "Sensuality" & "For The Love Of You"

Smooth....Soul..... Me and Mrs. Jones by Billy Paul.
Oh, yes!
Sorry Wreck, I forgot two others. Bill Withers from 1972 hit "Lean On Me" to this song hit #1 on both the Soul Charts and hit #1 on the Billboard Pop charts . Also Dobie Gray's 1973 hit "Drift Away" These were the days when young blacks had true talent unlike all this rap BS today that is pawned off as music. I've got news for you young ones. I don't know what the hell it is? But it sure ain't music, that I do know. Please check these two songs out ! ☮️✌️💕👌
PEOPLE.. Empress reacts just reacted to the Full Length Let's Stay Together version...Dig it* if you got the feeling...Poppie*...P.S.. Today is Al Green's birthday. April 13...Hip reaction Recklezz
Always loved this song! Smooth as butter!
Solomon Burke "Cry To Me"
All time favorite
Still in love is my favorite
Curtis Mayfield
Thanks boss!
Aight Reck you going to some classic shit. I'm gonna request Rick James & Teena Marie "Fire & Desire". Definitely have wifey with you on it
Perfect.
You should react to Tina Turner's cover of this song it's really good.
I know you like Hip Hop and Rap so you might be interested in hearing Lil Wayne - Earthquake which sampled Let's Stay Together. Obviously the original song is an R&B/Soul classic and many have opinions on sampling but I like what Lil Wayne did over the beat and hook. Just a fair warning though, if you want to find that Lil Wayne track on streaming services, they usually have it listed as a track called "Shine" for some reason. This can be confusing for a fan since he has another track called Shine on another album iirc
Good reaction!!!
You have to check out Tyrone Davis "It sure wasn't me".
🔥🔥🔥
👋🏻♥️
♥️
Nice!
You gotta play this to your good woman whenever you next have a spat
👍👍👍👍👍👍
