Great idea!!! I have the same sharpener that I've not even set up yet. I will wire that into the circuit when I do set it up. Cook's should pay you for this idea!
@@stormspotter40 I am not nearly as impressed with the Cooks as I was before I spent A bunch of money for their mill, sharpener, setter, and band roller. I kinda got the feeling that they no longer had time to mess with me once I came to pick up the stuff. I hope I'm wrong.I haven't been back in touch with them since then. I really like the mill and don't regret the purchase. I just felt kinda like they were through with me when they got their money.
To be honest with you I bought a Norwood hd36 and I've had the same problem with them. My sawmill came in damaged from the factory and they spent a month sending me replacement parts. I had already made my first payment to the bank before I cut my first log. In retrospect I wish now I had bought a woodmizer LT15 Wide and just built a trailer for it myself. But we live and we learn. Thanks Smitty
@@stormspotter40 I went the other way with my mill. Bought the biggest, baddest one they make. It's a lazy man's saw, if there is such a thing. AC36 with 67HP Perkins diesel.
If you put a relay ,you can cut both motors , Electrician ... but for every one it,s good but shure you can do better m y freind electrician I,m since 1970 retired .Happy new year 2022.from Michel north Montreal Quebec. salutations...
I had already thought about it before I put the limit switch on but since there is two different types of voltages 120 v AC for the grinder motor and 12 v DC for the blade advance motor it was less expensive to go with one. Thank's Smitty
You may want to put a starter on this, so you turn off the motor and the gear motor simultaneously. Otherwise, you may leave the grinder in the tooth when it stops. This could overheat the tooth it stopped in.
I also thought of using a double pole relay to control the dc (feeder motor) and the ac grinder motor. Only problem now is I don't have the cats claw sharpener anymore. Milling lumber got to difficult to do by myself so I had to sell my norwood HD36 mill and equipment. Hope yours work's out for you. Take care and be safe.
Oh and for those of you who are worried about the warranty on your cat claw sharpener, I spoke to Marcus at cooks sawmill and he said that as long as no wires are cut it won't void the warranty. Thanks Smitty

I spoke to them about it and they didn't seem to be interested. I told them it was their loss.
Thanks for your comment. Let me know how yours work's out. Smitty
