  • Not much Info on the Net about these Hohner ST Custom Guitars so I made a couple of Soundsamples into a JCM 800 2205 Combo. Very flexible original EMG-Selection Pickups with Split System (passive!)
Had not much practice since the mid 90tees until now, so don´t expect to much from my playing...
These Guitars do a real good Job when it comes to DireStraits Knopfler Sounds and 80 Rock anyway. Very responsive.
Once the Tremolo suffered from the same issue all those Steinberger Type Trems had: The Studs comming out of angle (until they break) after times. ON THIS ONE THE STUDS WAS CHANGED AND BUSHINGs have been installed. Problem solved!
Can use it....like most Trems ..to some degree....Has Locking Function.
The Amp: 30 Years old, NO MOD´s!... DON´T DO IT!....YOU DON`T NEED IT! Outstanding Cleans on this one. Extended Gain anyway - no Mush. All Tubes ORIGINAL old Stock Ei and Teslas. All Caps ´ve been proved and still working fine..
    Ampsettings:
    Clean Cannel: Vol2,5 High 5,5 Bass 4.5
    Boost Cannel: Gain 5 - 7 Vol 4-5 High 5-6 Mid 5 Bass 8.5
    Reverb 4 Master Volume 5
No Effects but a Loopbox at one part
Senheiser MD Mic into Mix and Handycam...Sorry some Reductions

This was my second electric guitar I bought in the late 80th and I did almost all my recordings with her at that time. It’s a very good guitar but the vibrato/tremolo was driving me crazy sometimes. It’s still in the house but I gave it to my son some years ago. The tremolo is broken so it doesn’t works anymore but it’s still a nice guitar and the mini switches plus the Clam blend sounds is making it very variable so you can get a lot of useful sounds from nearly acoustic like to really hard rocking stuff from it if you like. Really still a very good guitar and I was own and playing many different guitars since then and still do. Well sorry for my long speech...stay home and healthy! Keep on rockin’

No sorry my friend you´re welcome to comment on my channel! Not much interest nowadays for those hohner guitars. So our infos here could soon be of historical importance! Of course only for us backwards facing old foxes from the last century…. stay healthy!

Question : where did you find the parts for the tremolo?

It´s nearly impossible to find parts for this Tremolo. Biggest Problem are the stud´s on these trems. The stud´s are going out of angle forward to the PU... I know….The baseplate where the stud´s are screwd in bends into the Body or in the worst case the stud´s tear out the threads...BUT I can help you: What I ´ve done is simple and rescues the functionality.
      1. Remove all the upper trem part with the spring.
      2. Remove the baseplate with the studs from the Body and unscrew the studs from the plate.
      3. screw the plate back in, mark the holes from the studs exactly into the Wood
      4. Remove the plate. Take a pair of fender or foyd like pivot screws with metal inserts and install them direct into the wood where you marked them.
      5. widen up the threadholes in your baseplate, screw all in..... I think you got it..
Search for Pivot screws with very small screw heads. it may be nessesary to grind them to fit your Tremolo plate pivots! And DONT LOOSE any parts!
There have been yellow red and blue springs for different string gauge.
      Cheers!
