Our genius Suga wrote & produced this amazing song, released in Dark & Wild album, in 2014. Imagine how young he was, so talented.
He also was the director aka directed the members in their singing and gave them their parts. So yeah the guy knows their voices as a musician and he did it again with take two. Waiting for more BTS songs produced and directed by him.
@@mev9752I didn’t know that about Take Two. I remember when I first heard it, it hit me straight into my heart. 💜. Jimin really shined in this song. I can’t think of why he suffered insecurity and doubt about his talent. He can really belt out a song as well as sing a soft ballad so beautifully.

Suga’s songs always have a different feel. His production skills are insane. What I would give to crawl inside his head when he’s making a song; so many intricate sounds and reasons. What I would give to crawl into yours and know all the little details you hear that we don’t!! We need a video on that or maybe you point those out when you hear ‘em…I bet you hear so much more coming from a musician’s standpoint!
I once watched the behind-the-scenes footage before BTS went on stage. Hoseok asked Jungkook to sing along in some phrase, and Jimin actually asked him to finish singing his phrase, since his voice broke a little during rehearsal. Namjoon, admiring Joguk’s phenomenal ear for music, told how before a performance the participants sometimes ask to support with harmony in difficult places, and he does it purely and masterfully.
So songs like this is why I view them as way much more than the "boy band" tag. They are first and foremost musicians and songs like this show it. RM has stated when they make a song they dont look at line distribution per se they look at who is best for each part and take it from there and then fine tune the songs for harmonies etc. They always do what is best for the song rather than the individual members.
Another hidden gem from BTS early days .. Happiest birthday to Jimin, BTS' litteral angel .. great reaction John I loved that live performance of that song .. everything BTS does on stage is properly planned and rehersed so JK harmonising would have been planned before they performed .. if you look at some of their behind the scenes for their concerts every thing is planned before they go on stage 👍👍💜💜💜💜💜💜💜

Finally! I've been waiting for your reaction to this song for so long. It's one of my favorites. V's low voice is perfect, but Jimin going off at the end is ultimate perfection. RM's Dark & Wild hair is also ultimate perfection 😄I honestly don't think BTS has any B-sides.

JK is the main vocalist of BTS. One of his roles is to do harmonizing in the songs.

Thank you for this reaction, John. When I saw the notification I went "Yay!" I love early BTS just because I love looking back from the heights they have reached to the passion in their young faces. Re the line distribution and ad libs - we can use their work on the In the Soop theme as an example of the exhaustive work they put in the song - each member sang the whole song, anybody who wanted to do ad libs had a turn and then Yoongi, as producer, decided on which member fit which line best and which ad lib worked best for the song as a whole. They make further changes for live performances and sometimes they change from one performance to the next. Jung Kook is their harmony and ad lib fairy because he is the best at those - even in their early songs we find JK rapping in harmony, for example. Look forward to your other deep dives.

There's a live performance with the ghost band you wanted. Make sure to watch Let me know live in HYYH 2016! This video is the showcase of their album, so it's the same as the first release, so this was based on the recording. And there's Jungkook's back vocal harmony compilation video. He harmonizes with the members whenever they want.

I just started listening to them about 2 months ago, then studying their each style, man are they blessed and they know how to bring each singer to their own in their songs.. They are more than just a boy band, they are so talented.. You are right about bringing in ghost ban to this song, awesome with the drum riff going..I loved Jimin's part as well.. I'm amazed at how they know who to place and harmonize together...
honestly my top 10 BTS song…If there is one song(early) that I want them to perform live again..knowing that their voices have really improved even more..this would be that song….i think this would even elevate this song to a different level.

They also performed it live on a show. I'm not sure of the name, but if you look up "let me know a song for you" it'll show up. I definitely recommend this version as well, even if you don't react to it, it's worth watching. RM & V stare into your souls 😆 and hearing that high note by Jimin is always worth another watch 😊

I only saw one light in the audience. Was that performance in front of a "Black ocean" if so that breaks my heart and makes me proud bc no matter what they showed up and slayed. Especially that last note from Jimin!
I wonder if the idea was to be in the dark so maybe it wasn’t the right time for the lights? There’s no way they could pull off that lighting concept with all the ARMY bombs lit. Could be they asked to have them off during this piece maybe?

This song is amazing! Hard to beleave , this song war written 10 years ago.
With harmonizing it goes few ways if there was one in original song alredy then they do it bc it was in song, maybe not like always and ad must but more likely.
If there wasen't, this is most of the times casevm to case talk like for example when they practice for concerts they decide that this could be cool etc. So it happens like that.
And there is also fact that JK is main vocal so in theory it is his "job" to do it, to give support, and I don't say they make him or something but as main vocal usually you do this extra things...
So it really depends on song, on performance, on feeling, on mood.
There was actually in recent years a lot of harmonizing live that they decided before going on stage bc they feld it would be better.

I like the desperation in the slow build of angst musically and vocally ... simple ... r&b vibe ... this is one of my fav underrated songs of Bangtan ... so so good. Also if I remember correctly 1st all produced written directed by Suga. I love V's into chorus to each rappers verse ... 🔥🔥🔥🔥🖤💜🎶🎶🎶🎶🎶

As I just commented on your “Love Is Not Over” video, this song was first recommended to me when I needed to let these emotions out. I was going through a breakup (I’m still not over the person.) and it still speaks to me because I think I’m still desperately trying to hold onto the love I still feel for them and that I’m lonely right now. That might be TMI, but it shows that BTS can sing about things that people can’t put into words themselves.
To answer your question, members sometimes tell JK how much harmonizing they want; for example, once I remember V telling JK something to the effect of, "You know how much I like harmonies; do lots of harmonies for my part."

They just.... I don't know if it's a product of the way K-Pop groups are put together (with that long trainee period, that afaik doesn't really exist in Western music), but from their very first album BTS exhibited a really matured sound that was NOTHING nothing like debut albums I'm used to.
2 Kool for Skool was 6 songs, an instrumental Interlude, and 2 skits, and I don't think there's a bad one in the bunch. 2 Kool for Skool (which shows up later again in Hobi's Ego), WAB Pt 2, No More Dream, Like, Circle Room Cypher (which is hilarious), and Path.
For a lot of Western rock and pop musicians, I feel like you're doing well if half of a debut album is really good. (Yes, ALBUM. I'm over 50, I buy albums, not just tracks.) Like, there will be the 1 or 2 radio hits, and then a couple that will become fan standards, but the rest is more... well, it helps to establish their sound, but you can tell they're still finding their footing. There may even be a couple of stinkers... something experimental that just doesn't work, or that one their producer insisted on to check some genre box, that will NOT age well.
With BTS... their albums are just one iconic banger after another. Nothing's skippable. Like, *how*?
I actually love BTS's B- sides more than their hit singles. All their songs are good, but their B-sides hit different.
I think they mention JK harmonizing with Suga, but I don't remember in which video. He asked Suga if he could do it, it has a very sweet interaction 💜

3:32 actually was Jimin 👍🤣 he can take his voice pretty deep but he chooses not to because Tae already does it. So he just sticks to showcasing his skills with high notes. The same way Tae can go ridiculously high but chooses to shine through more baritone notes

Bts b sides are way better than the main song released.
Jimin's high notes right at the end of this song is one of my most fave things. I think only he could have sung it. Sure, JK could've probably reached the same high notes, but somehow it just wouldn't have come out the same. Jimin's voice carries the emotion much better here, like it was such a desperate cry of despair and frustration and of eventual release and letting go or giving up right at the end. Or at least, that's what it felt like to me. No one but Jimin could've sung this.
