Experience 8 of Our Journey [First Strides North, Running Into a New Earth]
Individualism is more prideful than community and relationships. This thought keeps us from opening ourselves up to new friendships. Growing up, we were taught not to share anything too personal about our lives. As if it was more important to pretend our life was perfect in perception, instead of sharing the way we really felt. This conditioned us to distrust other people, and thus closing ourselves off to genuine relationships.
Our intention for our journey was to be open. To say yes to the situations that we may have said no to. By saying yes, we were able to grow a real relationship with Gala and her family, and by doing so, we had got to experience the beauty of Lake Superior's shoreline in a way we never would have on our own.

A purposeful journey into the unknown, powered by our hearts, and rediscovering our oneness with all living things. Setting out on a series of extended physical challenges around Turtle Island (North America) to awaken our spirits to the human experience and give back to indigenous causes. From this place, we can heal, embody a new way of being and carve the way for a new earth.
