- I was a cashier at PetSmart when I got a job as a receptionist at a busy personal injury law firm. I had no law firm experience! The path to paralegal was paved with prickles and petals, but over the span of 23 years in this crazy legal industry, this is how I did it.

It seems that being a paralegal and a legal assistant is not the same thing even if the book West's Paralegal Today : The legal team at work says the contrary meaning that those terms are interchangeables for example. I am finishing my studies to become a paralegal by the end of this year and I want to work for either an attorney or a notary because where I live in Quebec, we have notaries too. Congrats on going from petsmart to paralegal boss!
The American Bar Association separated the positions and expanded upon the definition of a Paralegal in recent years. How old is your book? If it is an older edition, then it is possible the language hasn't been updated with the new ABA standards. Good luck with completing your studies, and good luck with finding a great job when you're done. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate you!
Great info! I just started a Paralegal program to get a certification. I plan to book a discovery call with you soon. Thanks!
Sounds great! Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate you!
Well I'm in the absolute beginning stage, start paralegal school in August so still a box truck driver with no luck on landing a basic office gig.. so I'm just trying to breathe, you know
Keep calm and Paralegal on. You'll get there. I believe in you. Give it some time and have faith. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate you!
Great video! I started as a dominos delivery driver and I just got a job as a legal assistant.

Hi, your channel is great and I am so thankful that you are willing to assist those of us who are interested and looking to grow in this field. Thank you for your time in providing these helpful videos. I have recently been tasked with appealing denied time entries re insurance company. You mentioned that you learned by working with litigation billing matters how to push entries through. Would you be willing to offer paid consultation on this? I could really use some tips
I'm so glad you found my channel too, Lisa. If you need help with those billing entries, please feel free to book some time on my calendar. You can use this link: www.arrowconsultants.solutions/service-page/paralegal-discovery-call?referral=service_list_widget. A quick discovery call should do the trick. I look forward to speaking with you. Thanks for watching and commenting. I appreciate you!
Fantastic, thank you! Will do.
So... I am freaking out!! Lol. Not only is my name Misty, but I started out at my firm as a receptionist/legal assistant. Worked my tail off and like what happened with you, someone got fired and I got the opportunity after 4 years to be a personal assistant to one of our attorneys. I am loving the job and learning so much. My question to you is this: should I get my paralegal certificate or go to school and get a degree? Can you do a video over this? I already have a CJ degree and would rather not go back to school if not necessary. Thank you in advance.
New paralegal student 😩🤎 scary but I love it not for the week.
