- Bobby Breen (b. November 4, 1927) sings his great hit "Rainbow on the River" in the movie of the same name. Blessed with a gorgeous soprano voice, Bobby appeared in nine films between 1936 and 1942. This film is a classic that should really have a proper DVD restoration. The theme song was also recorded by Guy Lombardo's Orchestra, Perry Como with Ted Weems's Orchestra, Charlie Barnet and His Orchestra, and other wonderful groups of the time.
A most happy child..He was so great .
Bobby Breen certainly had a lot of talent.
I've heard this song many times, but it's wonderful to see him sing it. Thanks for sharing this video.
This child is incredible 1936 simply devine xxxxxxx
Bobby Breen was born on November 4,1927 and died on September 21 at 88.Rest inPeace!!!here he is singing his most popular song
Breen was born Isadore Borsuk on November 4, 1925 - making him 90 at the time of his death.
I doubt there will ever be a child of 9 years old to ever come along again astounding talent xxxxxx
If only we could go back in time with a nubile Bobby belting out Rainbow on the river and all the slaves happily singing along...not a whip in site...better times for sure!
Possibly, the greatest boy singer in movies. I remember a memorable radio interview he did on Ed Walker's show in the Washington, DC area in the 1970s.
Just absolutely beautiful! God rest your soul!
Louisiana by Bobby Green
Bobby has such a wonderful treble voice.. He was discovered by Eddie Cantor for his Radio Show.
I believe Cantor was responsible for discovering other major talent like Dinah Shore and Eddie Fischer.
wow im amaze my grand mother always sing this song.
My mum’s favourite song 🎧
Absolutely fabulous.....💕👍💥
wow, would love to find the whole movie...this is a classic for sure.. lots of great songs on this movie. great story too!
wow - Bobby Breen (1927-2016) only appeared in 9 films
AMEN! I have purchased several public domain versions of this film, but each one is a big disappointment. If the copyright owners, whether they be Bobby Breen Enterprises or Warner Archives or whomever, will you please allow these films to be enjoyed by a new generation?
A very Impressive film from the old days of Slavery and all those people who were humiliated and discriminated against by all the Regimer.
But nice and nice to see Bobby Breen { this very young actor and singer } raise the upper hand against all the Regiem.
I miss those days...when all my slaves would down tools...and break out in a chorus of Rainbow on the river...ah!
Ah yes, me too. Such a heartwarming sight.(why isn't this banned?)
@@galloping3265 It was a different time... different values... we need to learn from these examples by highlighting the imbalance and errors
He would have been an asset to Marian boys choir
I was rejected by Father Lynch.
Wow, Big Finish on that at about 3:50.
I also purchased a version of this movie but the singing scene at the river is missing in it ....I wonder if there is a complete version ...
Where can I find the whole movie
Just found a Original copy of this song on vinyl for sale if interested
My mum was going to named after Bobby Breen, but she was a girl.
Today the black quarters boycotted this movie.
I'm black and I think it's a beautiful story.
Unfortunately, Bobby Breen is already deceased and also the great Louise Beavers
