Phil, it is a remarkable and wonderful transformation. I was smiling ear to ear as you were touring us around both buildings. can’t wait to see it in person. Kudos for your powerful vision.
So happy to see the flowers and plantings outside...a nice greeting! (great Hostas!) You put so much thought into the feel of the interiors, and it shows! It's a good thing I don't live nearby, it looks like a place I'd SPEND too much time in! I love that you got your sign hanger on "a pick"! A true sign of frugality...and creativity! The placards info in front of many of your books in your first shop should be very appreciated. Your hard work will pay off, in more friends and connections with other book people. As far as *Recharging your town*...WOW! Inspiring work! It's not just the business...it's the life! Great work.
Thanks for the commeny Amy! Glad you think it looks good! Also thanks for participating in the giveaway, hope you win! Btw, I don't hate New Hampshire haha just the cold! Thanks for all your support 😊
WOW Phil, both shops look pretty epic. We can see a lot of work went into all the transformation. Nothing like having a good team behind you to help out right ( family), LOL. Onwards and upwards to you as you go forward with both properties. Thanks for the tour.
Thank you so much for the comment and appreciate all your support throughout the years! Glad you wnjoywd the tour, maybe someday I'll giveya an in person one! Thanks Christine ❤️
HAHA, I am about to come back to the USA twice before the end of the year, but never as far as where the shop is Phil, I wish. It's funny how we readers have bookshops on our lists to visit when we travel to places. I have now added The Book peddlar to my list up in Smithville flats. LOL
You've done an amazing job preparing for opening day. Both stores have a great day look and feel. Keep the ax near by at all times just in case anyone tries to haggle prices. I hope you have a huge turnout. I love the job your mom did with the curtains. Much luck to you and your business Phil you deserve it. ❤
Man, this to me really is what a used book shop(s) should look like. Just great balance of high and lower end, totally unpretentious but classy, great sense of importance of regional collection. Also really like the balance you've got between the physical shop and the online; giving locals some first dibs. If I ever pull off a fraction of this I'll be whistling...
Appreciate the comment, thank you. It's taken a lot of work, it's come a long way, it'll only keep getting better. You're comment is exactly what I've been continuously working towards. Glad you enjoyed the video.
Wow Phil So happy and excited for you! Both shops look amazing with such attention to detail. It appears to be truly your calling to be a Book Peddler. Now you are town treasure. Congratulations! I look forward to visiting your shops in the future and definitely want to buy a t-shirt. All the best from the Book Peddler in Tennessee.
Hey Phil! Shop looks great. So much hard work and care shines through. The coffee is a nice touch. Great Minds Drink Alike. Hope to make it out your way in the future. Wishing you the best in all your endeavors.
Thank you so much Emily! I decided not to do coffee on the big opening, too many people and headaches that could happen haha so afterwards it'll all be up and running! Appreciate the support!
Place is looking GOOD, Phil ! Wish I could be there for your Grand Opening, but it's a long way from the right side of Texas. Won't even be able to watch the live, on-line, opening as I am going to a library sale on Saturday about 4 hours away from here. But, non-the-less, I wish you well and hope you have a GREAT day ! I sure would like to pick through that hunting and fishing section and I can see many a jam session on your patio. Be sure and video them when they happen. Good luck buddy, oldnndway (old and in the way)
I Love how store 1 looks, and store 2 looks like Money machine. I was really hoping to make it up there for the opening, but life is not co operating at the moment. Off to fill out the questionnaire ✌️
I'm in Australia so can't enter the competition, but sending my best wishes for your opening... very exciting and I hope that the day is a great one for you! Lots of good sales & great customers. Best of luck & wishes Phil :)
For the opening definitely not, there will be probably way too many people. I do have chairs and everything and people can sit on the front porch and read as well. Eventually in the new building I may create a large lounge area upstairs, that'll be my summer project 😊
What is the difference between softcover and Paperback? Your cost sign in the red building says $4 for Hardcover/Softcover and Paperbacks are $1 a piece. When you say Paperback are you meaning mass market paperbacks? I am wondering if that softcover/paperback would confuse the customer. Both stores look great. I would come to the grand opening buy I am much too far away.
Yeah, so no matter what book shop I go in it seems like everybody has their own way of interpretation of it despite if there is a standard. Basically "pocket book" size paperbacks are a buck a piece. Everything bigger for my shop is called a "softcover". I thought about the wording and I might change it to be clearer but I also took a piece of paper and traced out the pocket sized paperbacks as a reference for the public. I'll probably label the racks they're on for full clarity. Thanks I hope its a big showing and people are happy with it!
The store and displays look great! Do you ever buy classics? I know you once had a jane Austen book and someone beat me to it. How much is your very large 1776 David McCullough book, the one in the case? (@9:40 in the video). I'm interested in American history nonfiction and vintage and classics; Trollope, Austen, Dickens, Hardy, etc.
Thank you! Yeah I do it just depends what the next book pick has in store. I sold that book this last weekend believe it or not! If I get another in I'll try to keep you in mind
Good Job !
I love what you've done with the original shop, it's so much more open and you can see all the books!
Thank you! Yeah I wanted to open it up, way to congested for years and now I can display my better books as well!
Both stores look awesome! I wish I was closer. Congrats!
@@flippinohio thank you!
