underrated video, glad i found it, helped me settle on the LT25, the ampeg sounded the best to my ears through my system here but the LT25 was good enough and since it's got the digital stuff going on it's more than enough to settle on it.
Thanks for the time and effort to put this out there man, it's much appreciated!
one last thing, i like your straight to the point format and ease of access due to the links in the description, made it easy to go back and compare various basses across the same amp as well...honestly can't thank you enough for how well done this is and the effort you put in!
Thanks for your support. Much appreciated! More stuff like that coming soon. Hope you'll like it as well. See U soon.
Sold me on the Ampeg, best sounding to my ears. Thanks for the video..
Actually purchased the ampeg v2 before I listen to this video.......awesome!
Can't go wrong with Ampeg. Congrats on your purchase. Enjoy. 🤘
this was exactly the kind of video I was looking for, the different amps all had very unique sounds that easly set them apart from each other. Hearing a head to head comparison really helped me decide on the direction i want lean toward when making my decision on which of these amps to go with. I am leaning toward the Ampeg or Fender 25, the 15 sounded a little weak and the others have too much of a guitar sound to them. For a bass I want a deep, rich sound and I think the Ampeg gets the job done. Thank you for the video it was extremely helpful.
This video convinced me to buy Ampeg BA108! Thanks man! Its a great amp!
It sure is! Can't go wrong with Ampeg. Glad we've made your choice easier. Enjoy! Cheers! 👍
You won't be disappointed
I just got one myself and you won’t be disappointed.
I've got a RB108 here in two days. I'll be buying a RB115 in November. The ext cab is murder, ported peavey 1-15" with a JBL E140. I love knocking drinks off tables...
Fantastic demo!
Time stamps, clean playing, proper audio. Thank you this was super helpful.
I love my Ampeg BA108 and it sounds surprisingly good with regular (non-bass) electric guitar
I can't remember what artist turned me on to using a bass amp for regular electric guitar but I really love the tone. It was something I read in an article once.
You deserve more views! This was a pretty nice video. Straight to the point. Time stamps. Perfect.
Ampeg. Clear winner. Bigger, fuller sound. LT25 was good and the 15 too thin. Ampeg. I bought it for my guitars. I don't even pay bass but wanted a thicker but not muddy tone. Sounds great.
So you are using you Ampeg BA108 for mic'ing your guitar recordings?
I like the Ampeg and Rumble. The others had too much high end
Excellent video! I'd like to add that I recently tested the Ampeg Rocket Bass series vs Fender Rumble series using my Yamaha BB1000s strung with 50-110 stainless steel DR LowRiders. To my ears and to the ears of those around me at GC, that bass with those strings played fingerstyle sounded amazing through the Ampeg combos, and pretty good through the Fender Rumble combos. I had owned various Fender bass combos before and had never even tried an Ampeg, but that test showed me what I had been missing. :)
Great demo, you’re a legend. Been searching forever for a video like this: same tune on all amps so I can really compare the sound.
50 years with Fender, but I'll be doing my retirement tour with Ampeg!
The Vox is shockingly good for a guitar amp. Best tones were the Ampeg, the Vox and the LT25 in that order, all open-sounding and present. I felt the Vox had the edge on the LT25 but there's very little in it and in fact the LT25 beats out the Vox on the Witkowski Jazz.
The irony is that the bass version of the vox pathfinder sounds like crap
Vox and Marshall bass combos but no Gallien Kruger or Hartke combos, GK and Hartke bass combos are about a million times more popular than Vox or Marshall bass combos, I didn’t even know Marshall made a bass combo.
The video was very well done though.
Cheers, Davyo
Excellent review. Thank you.
Ampeg for me here turned out to be a clear winner.
Vox is in second place. Sounds good. The best for the bedroom.
Kinda new to bass so I paired an Ibanez GSR200 to a Fender LT25 (live in an appartment).
Extremely helpful, especially these days heh. Thank you!
We enjoy being helpful ;) Cheers!
best amp review ever
That means a lot! 😃
Great video!, i think that the Fender Rumble LT25 and VOX sounded the best
07:46 "(...) wrzuć zdjęcie ku*wa takie (...)" LOL!
On top of that worth mentioning that F25LT is a modelling amp and a Vox - being a guitar amp - is doing well nonetheless. Would be nice to see it swapped with a Pathfinder 10 Bass though. On the other hand, you go to other comparisons on YT and they all do sound different.
I have a VOX Pathfinder 10 Bass, sounds terrible. Came here looking for alternatives. BA108 is easily the best of the bunch. Thank you!
Really good Demo!! Loved it! Love cheers🙏❤
I like the Ampeg, Rumble 25, and then the Vox. I also liked the Longview bass riff as I'm a 90' pop punk kinda guy 👍
Pretty impressive showing for the Rumble LT25. It really highlights how bad the Rumble 15 is.
For me the LT25 sounded awful and the 15 was the best by far.
Thanks for this ideo, atm trying to find a small amp, and this is erry helpfull to me to help me decide!
The Marshall is out anyways, it does not sound like a Bass amp at all, but rather a normal e-amp..
Man i'd liked to hear a hartke hd25 in that group. Great demo though..the ampeg ruled to my ears.
I have that ampeg and the line out sounds even better!
The Ampeg sounded the best!
Ampeg.. easily. Great bass sound all around.
You can't go wrong with Ampeg. But Fender amps got their own tone and it's bad ass too!
Wait that vox pathfinder sounds really good on the squier jazz.......... I'm considering to buy that since i have a strat & a squier bass, how should the settings vary for each instrument?
Great video and tones!
this video reminds me a bit of mateusz piotrowski
(OK now I have read the description!)
Ampeg sound the best, as usual.
Does the BA108 V2 sound any different? I am considering pairing it with an Ibanez Gio 5 string (99% of the music I listen to/want to play requires 5) for my first bass rig. Not gigging, but a bedroom/dorm practice and jam setup
Great and useful video, thanks! I cant remember from what song are the first licks, maybe SOAD? Anyway, thanks you a lot.
Greetings from Argentina.
The Ampeg shown and tested in this video is NOT a BA-108! A BA-108 has the control panel and knobs up front on the same side as the speaker grill.
man I would swap those pathfinder speakers and bi amp that for h igh mids and highs with the pathfinder bass or another 25 to 30 bass amp for low mids and low freq; best part is those pathfinders have DI's so you could use it for recording your tone
Ampeg , clear winner
Ampeg sound really Nice, but i liked more the vox
Vox Pathfinder 10 is perfect for home use.
Great video brother!
Why does the Pathfinder *guitar* amp have more bass than the Rumble 15? I tried out the Rumble recently and even given it's small it was pretty disappointing compared to the Orange which had an 8" speaker but is great
Great demo. Vox VX50ba is great for bass.
Really, you gonna start by playing sweet child o mine🤣
Ampeg just has that sound
Vox sounds amazing but is a little bit more expensive, prefer Ampeg.
Hello! Thanks for review! Tell me please why don't you take VOX 10 BASS? You took VOX 10 with one 6,5 inch speaker. And VOX 10 BASS have two 5 inch speakers. What do you think will sounds better? Thank you
Cheers! To be perfectly honest we took what we've got. We gathered around a bunch of small practice bass amps that anyone can afford and use to play home on a daily basis. For practice or just for fun or just not to annoy your neighbours when doing any of those. Simply we didn't have VOX 10 for bass, but in this test this VOX that we used turned out to be more than outstanding when it comes to use with a bass guitar. Surely it haven't got that grunt or rumble that the ampeg, but it handles bass frequencies surprisingly well, it sounds crisp and bright, but not hursh and it has a great midrange to it. To me it sounds even better with bass than guitar. Personally I think VOX, as the cheapest of the lot, has a sound quality that is way beyond what money can get you. Will a Vox 10 bass sound better than the one we've tried - I think it'll be more scooped in a midrange and to me that means less clarity, but for a bass guitar it's not always a bad thing.
Hope it helped.
@@vincentzarazzaraz7165 great thanks to you!!! 💪🏻
@@vincentzarazzaraz7165 thats why i bot 6 of them... epi geetars,, casio,,, synths.... vocals... all good on pathf10 g...
Rumble 15 all the way!
There you go! 👍
AMPEG!!!!
ty for this. i like the ampeg
ampeg's the best
good job boss
Hello sir..is ampeg is the best for you in that size of amp?
In fact I've chosen Fender Rumble LT25 over Ampeg BA108 for my practice at home, but the truth is Ampeg sounds more like a bigger amp. It's the thickest sounding amp of a bunch.
Vincent zaraZZaraz do you mind me asking why you chose the lt25 over the ampeg
Hello there! Was looking to purchase a bass amp and to my surprise, you used the spare guitar amp that i have for bass? Do i have to keep it dialled on a setting to prevent it from breaking or is it totally fine to use with a bass?
I would not turn the volume up past 4 out of 10 or risk blowing the speaker/amp. It will sound ok up to that point.
If i buy the ampeg one, can i also plug in my electric guitar? I recently bought a bass and im downsizing my room so i prefer to not have so many amps in a room and instead a 2-in-1 😕
Weight seems to be more important than wattage.
Did the pathfinder get damaged by being used with a bass?
So far, so good. It's fine, but you should be aware - it's not a bass amp as such. ;)
Wow. Those guitar amps just don’t cut it for bass. Too weak and brittle sounding
Ba 108 no.1
Now add a Traynor Small block 110 to the line up and watch all these amps turn away in shame.
I got the VOX guitar amp yesterday but my Harley Benton Bass is hardly to hear. I have to crank the amp to 10 to hear something. Does my cheap bass suck? can anyone help me please? thankx so much!
There's no way for it to be so quiet. It's not an amp to play with the band, but it's surely more then enough to be heard. My advice is to check it with another guitar or bass and check your instrument cable. Hope it helps. HB are quite solid instruments, so you should be good to go, but... Things happens.
Hope it helps.
ampeg ba 108 👍👍👍
4:43 Name of the song ?
This is the solo bass lick from the song "Nie placz Ewka" by a great classic rock band from Poland called Perfect. The song is from 1981. Here is the link: ua-cam.com/video/G_oKsG8KRZI/v-deo.html
It's at 3:22
Hope you'll dig it.
This song means a lot for us, Polish people. This band too, actually :)
あれ?
LT25より15の方がタイトな気がする。。。
ba108 y pathf10 geetar... not bad...
Chido 💯👌
Awesome ..would have been more great if u had done it without the mikes
which one did you like the most if you'd have to choose?
Ampeg is clearly most solid and sturdy and it sounds big. Fender RT25 is most versatile - sounds great right out of the box, has a ton of tonal possibilities and therefor it's most fun to play, IMHO. Fender Rumble 15 was quite disappointing - as it looks great it sounds thinner than the smallest of them all - VOX, which was the biggest surprise for us, as it's also the smaller of the bunch.
@@vincentzarazzaraz7165 yes, I thought theVox was an bass amp, but it sounds suprisingly bassy big..I suppose LT25 would be the best option for small rooms since it has so many options tonewise. Don't know about its quality though..never tried one. Txs for the video, wish there are more video like this for us bedroom players :)
@@vincentzarazzaraz7165
I have the same Ampeg for home practice. Amazing little amp.
But the Vox REALLY surprised me also. It's a close second
@@johnwilkerson1535 VOX - yup, it cuts through the mix nicely when recorded. You can't go wrong with it, especially when you consider the price. ;)
@@vincentzarazzaraz7165 funny thing is the bass version of the Vox is dreadful
I started with one of those Fender Rumble 15's about 15 years ago. It sounded so awful that, to this day, I've still never bought anything Fender. Really wish they would dump the 15 and just stick with the 25.
Here’s the Rumble 30 in use: ua-cam.com/video/VEKKJv5VzxY/v-deo.html
El Marshall suena como el pico
VOX - only VOX
So obvious: Ampeg by a country mile.
They all sound the exact same.
Terrible fret buzz man....
