Have Fiat got a winner? Is this a competitor to the likes of the German rivals? Is the Ducato the overall winner?

I’ve had my Fiat for about 6 months now it’s a great big van to drive.
The lower dashboard gives a lot better visibility than the transit.
It’s quite good on fuel too.
The only things that I can fault with this van:
is the structure at the side of the windscreen is really chunky which can effect visibility at junctions.
Also the cup holders are useless there is actually only 1 small cup holder in the full van. As I spend a lot of time in my van it is necessary for me to have a large bottle of juice. In both my last transit and crafter there was space for a 2 litre bottle in easy reach from the drivers seat.
Now my bottle of juice spends its time rolling around the van trying desperately to make its way under the pedals.
It sounds like a trivial issue but I would actually not buy another Ducato just because of this. Which is a shame because it’s a cracking big van

You can buy the double cupholder with built in aux and usb port , but it goes where the middle glove box is . So you lose that

The wide, door-top armrests are brilliant.

I drive a 2.3 litre 18 plate multijet , and it has burnt oil from new like crazy . Both the same work vans do

    I have L1H1 2011 Ducato 100MultiJet.
    6.2l/100 km in fuel consumption.
    6.4l/100 km when loaded.
Best van I have at the moment.

Writing from a North American perspective, what do you Europeans think of the automated manual transmissions? We had it in North America for only 2 years and then diesel gate happened.

I drive the American version of this for a delivery gig. Uglier version, less torquey, more horsepower. It could really use the extra crank at low speed. At American freeway speeds (110+ km/h) it’s smooth but can’t go up minor hills without losing speed, probably because that torque is locked away at high rpm and it only has 6 gears in my model year. First four are low gears, last two are medium and high. It loves to rev to 3k rpm at low speeds with minimal input.
Best designed van though. Easiest to operate without thinking about it. Can make turns you would not think are possible for a giant van in the US. Easiest to drive, it can make better turns than its Sprinter and especially Transit competition. That latter one absolutely sucks for tall people and is depressingly ugly. Sprinter is great looking but could use more umph.

On a RHD van, it’s on the right side.

Down by the drivers door - very easy to snag yourself on if wearing shorts in the summer!

Hello Tom Kent I have question. What is the music used by WTF1 for their Grill The Grandstand intro called? The credit is given to you so I thought it'd be best to just ask you

New edition is coming out. Seems to be the ´old´ version. 2.3 engine is also leaving. Going to be 2.2 I believe.
