    The Zeiss 55mm 1.8 is a great option too! Small, all metal construction and the sharpness you can get from that lens is amazing

    Get a sigma 18-50mm f2.8 zoom lens for Sony apsc. Put it on your a7cr in apsc mode. You get 26 megapixels and a super compact zoom lens thats nice and sharp

    So far, I have the 20 G, 40 G, ZA 55. I haven't owned a Sigma for quite some time - I might need to consider that 90. 🙂

    I've been using the Rokinon 24 f2.8, the Sigma 45 and the Sigma 90 for about 6 months. What a great combination. Small, light , compact, unobtrusive. I'm 77, had 2 strokes and travel (cruise) extensively. I need to keep my kit small and light and like you I prefer primes. These 3 are a great combo.

    I've been thinking about the same, might go with the 20mm + 45mm + 90mm... Do you think the A7CR can perform well for professional photo + video work?

    My 90mm is arriving soon to pair with 35mm Sony. I will get a wide angle in the future to complete my trio.

    Nice selection of lenses man! I have the 35mm iseries sigma and the Sony 50mm f2.5. I also absolutely love the 50mm focal length. I might also get the Sony 40mm f2.5, there is something magical about 40mm!

    I do not like the new Sony A7RC (though I like the design with the EVF in the corner !), the EVF is too small with too low resolution, it misses a joystick and the articulating screen makes the camera too thick and for me my Sony A7RIV Cameras are compact enough. I do like the design and the build quality of the Sigma i-series, but I do not like they are so dependent of software !!! I do wish my Sony 24mm 1.4 GM was a "Sony 24mm 2.0 GMC" Lens with the same or better optical image quality. I have the Zeiss Loxia Distagon 21mm 2.8 T* which is excellent, so for a compact "24mm" Lens I will get the Zeiss Loxia Distagon 25mm 2.4 T*. I do not like the 50mm focal length for full frame, any focal length shorter or longer ! So I have the excellent Sony Zeiss Sonnar 55mm 1.8 T* ZA. The Sigma 90mm 2.8 DG DN is very small and light weight but for a 90mm 2.8 it just have too much distortion and vignetting, so I went for the Zeiss Batis Sonnar 85mm 1.8 T*. I also have two compact 35mm Lenses, the Sony Carl Zeiss 35mm Sonnar 35mm 2.8 T* ZA which is so small that it always can find a place in a bag or a pocket, the other 35mm is the Voigtländer APO-Lanthar 35mm 2.0 Aspherical which is build like a tank and the optical image quality is second to none !

    Great suggestions for building a kit for the A7Cr, went with your suggestion of the 24 Sigma, excellent performance. For the next using for the time being my Voigtlander 1.2 which I seem attracted even though its manual focus, even have a 50 1.2. Will be getting another Sigma from your suggestions. Just right into you doing a search for the A7Cr, also shoot Leicas and I'm from Miami Nice being here

    Your setup reminds me of a Fuji X-E2 with thumb grip and with their top 24mm I once owned. I loved that camera. I’m own all the Batis lenses and am tempted to try building something similar.

    Great video as always. Thank you! It really comes down to a question of whether or not manual focus on a Leica is holding me back. With the Leica M11 and the lenses I already have I have the same kit you have built, but I am just lacking autofocus. Henri Cartier-Bresson got by without auto focus. Can I? Could you? 😅

    First of all thank you for your great reviews. A quick question though. You said you're using these 3 Sigma lenses with your Leica as well. Is there an adapter for Sigma lens in Leica L mount to Sony FE camera? I'm using a Leica SL2-S and a Sony A7RV and I have a 35mm and a 65mm Sigma lenses in L mount that I would like very much to use with my Sony. Thank you very much for your help.

    • @ABarrera
      @ABarrera  9 місяців тому

      There is not, I sold my Leica SL2-S a few months back and exclusively using Sony for my autofocus work. Might revisit the L mount with the SL3 if they are able to improve the AF performance.

    Thank you for the video. Very happy with all my Sigma I-series lenses. Did buy the Hoage lens hoods for them though which are metal but don’t have the ridges on them. Even though I own the 24/2 my main group is the 35/2, 50/2, 65/2, and 90/2.8. Do wish they would add a 28mm version and maybe a 40/2. At 20mm I use my Sony 20/1.8 G since I already had it and it is almost the exact same weight as the Sigma 20/2. Use the larger GM primes on my full size A7RV and A1.

      had almost that pairing with the Q2 and a A7C with the 40. Ended up selling the 40 and A7C. Like Alex had mentioned I think the 40 is just too close to the 28, the 50 I could see working better but the plastic build on the sony compared to the sigma i.series. If you shoot video though I can see one leaning towards the sony for the declicked feature.

    I have the Samyang 45mm f1.8 and 75mm f1.8. I am considering either the Samyang 24mm f1.8 or 18mm f2.8 for a three-lens kit. I am drawn to the programmable focus hold button and focus/aperture ring and reported G-master image quality of the 24mm f1.8 but also the smaller size and lighter weight of the 18mm f2.8 for landscape photography while hiking and backpacking. I can get both now for $550, less than the full retail price of the Sigma 24mm f2.

  • @MrHero1976

    I had the original Q with the Sony Rx1 then moved to the Q2 and the RX1R2. Still have the Q2 and until two days ago had it paired with an A7C with the Sigma 65 f2 and samyang 135. I tried the sony fe 40 2.5 on the A7c body, great form factor but the plastic build and F 2.5 no bueno. I'm now giving thought to pairing the Q2 for my semi wide, paired with an A7Cii or R for my mid range and the 135 for my tele. I enjoy street shooting but mainly also like to take portraits. I had given thought to getting the Q3 but the wait time and hike in price from the Q2 I just couldn't justify. Watching your video I"m pondering if I should just just sell off my Q2 and get the A7CR paired with the sigma 24 or 35 i series lens.
