Glad I wasn't the only one fooled by the transformation or lack thereof 🤣 At the very least, the Zeta Plus C2's head is peak design and its shoulders don't fall apart unlike the hg. Thank you for saving me the trouble of changing the parts and showing how to do it.
Being a Sentinel fan is suffering. Thank you for the review! It's a shame Bandai didn't bother to rework the tolerances on the Zeta Plus to make it easier to get to Hummingbird. I can see them making blue and red redecos for this toy eventually for P-Bandai, maybe they'll throw us a bone with those if they ever happen. I was glad to snag a 19k original release C1 and a less excitingly priced Ex-S with my Christmas bonus, now I wait for a good deal on a MKV and FAZZ.

I just got my first Robot Spirits figure (though not Metal Robot Spirits) last year. Someone was selling a mint in box Full Armor Gundam for less than it would have cost me to get the relatively recent HG from Pbandai. While I probably will stick to model kits for the most part, I really loved the figure and was looking to maybe getting one or two more (probably GMs since some of those kits haven't been updated in years). Probably gonna skip on these "transforming" ones though.
Have been long waiting for your comment on these recent revised S-Gundam and Zeta Plus releases. The Hummingbird issue is disappointing to say the least, but it also exhibits Bandai's decision to make a half-baked but decent representation rather than a completely flimsy Hummingbird (we already got that from the GFFMC). Looking forward for the transformable Ex-S/S Gundam and FAZZ (if Bandai is going to further enhance the line)
I agree it would have been ideal to have the transforming hummingbird, though, it helps knowing the context that the grey (low visibility) color unit was originally restricted to WR mode in its 1989 conception (btw the hummingbird has it's own crotch piece different from the A or C type). I can't find a source for when the red/blue hummingbird MS forms came into existence but it wasn't part of the original Sentinel series. Speaking of, I know Bandai has had the red and blue Z plus MRS figures as display only examples for a quite some time, and I wonder if this is leading up to the red and blue humming bird MRS. All in all fair critiques, the price jumps are jarring and I will def not be turning my hummingbird back to the Z plus any time soon.
I haven't seen anything earlier than the 1999 SD of the red Karaba/Amuro Zeta Plus scheme, so my guess the design probably came around that time. The blue variation of it seems to be a GFF original. It'd be neat if the red/blue MRS prototypes became actual figures, but I was pretty excited by the idea of a gray Hummingbird in the first place.
Dear Citrus, amazing looking kits...but I'm afraid it's way, way above my paygrade....still looks great, although seems like they are milking the cow with these premium kits...anyways, keep it coming and God Bless always....cheers!
The audience seems narrow, but I also don't keep up with the news too well. I haven't seen any third-party Sentinel stuff aside from the Tiefsturmer for years ago.
There were some decent KOs of the Ex-S blue a couple years back, probably around 120usd at the time. I have both Bandai and KO versions and if they weren’t side by side I couldn’t tell the difference. Which is why the KO I’m comfortable displaying at work 😊

Ex-S gundam is one of the most expensive Gundam's it looks amazing plus its got an amazing back story from when gundam was just taking off

I think a fully transforming MRS Hummingbird would be just fine, since the Zeta Plus core is sturdy, but it really ought to be its own release

There needs to be 3D printed parts and a conversion guide on how to turn the HGUC Zeta Plus A1 into a C1
