At around 12:30 we see that the initial drops do not accomplish a lot of damage, and you mention that it wasn't "worth it" because of the cost of drops and the loss of those 2 lurkers. Based on the cost of the gas/minerals invested, you are right that killing all of ~2 probes for the cost wasn't worth that. However, I think that overall that was an absolutely awesome play by ZeLoT. Rain at this point has a pretty scary looking army, and storm, dragoon range, and 1/1 have finished. Those drops forced him to split up his army and cover multiple locations to stop those lurkers from doing anything. If Rain could have combined his army, I think he would have had enough to severely weaken or even break that contain. Those drops kept the contain in place, even if they did not do any significant damage. Strategically that was an excellent move. It forced Rain to play defensively at the exact point that he otherwise would have been in an ideal position to break the contain.
I like how SC1 has a lot more positioning and feinting and withdrawing going on. In SC2, you blink and your units die, making it a tiny bit less of an outmaneivering game.
I'd love to see a deep dive of a particular strat - a couple videos where you know one player will deploy a particular tactic and exploring why it works/doesn't work and what goes right and wrong in each game (and why)
I really enjoy the idea of you posting more content displaying what really feels like a "practice" session between two great players. Lets me, as a non-player, get a feel for what the "meta" is right now. Gives more context to those ASL games we see more often.
We should call this map "King of the Hill" I think against such a style as Zelot does - make 2 robo would be great idea. You need many obs, drops would be good vs no spire and it is very common. Slow reavers even without shuttle will help you to push into the middle. And as soon as you got middle 3 Base Zerg Lair vs 3 Base Protoss = GG. Because save laws will work against Zerg (hard to pushing up hill)
I am loving this series! I do think it hammering out 2 a day would be good tho. 20-30 mins is the ideal length for my lunchbreak video! Thanks for the content!
Thanks for still casting Broodwar Artosis, how long we have all come from the days of having to download the GOM Player to watching to youtube. Happy 2024!
Love the casts every morning Arty! Remember the video you made where you suggested potential adjustments for a Broodwar balance patch? You should see about hosting a tournament with the experimental balance changes you suggested.
These games are astonishing. However I would like to watch from time to time an F rank game like you casted some time ago. It was fun to watch something different than typical openers and tactics.
This build zerg is doing is aimed to contain the Protoss forever after the first hydras come out. Thats why he makes 4 hat at third, because its better for macro and because he is not planing on fighting anywhere else than Protoss choke. Specially effective vs a player whom you just killed a couple of times with hydra's all-ins and now will probably be on the defensive side.
And by the way it looks, he makes enough hydras to break wall and contain protoss with 3 hat, then rushed lurk asap so P can't break, wich hits around 9+ in this game, just before Zealot reach critical mass and just before storm, Incredibly good b-side build for an user who is amazingly strong at hydra's all-ins
@ArtosisCasts Any chance you are doing some casts of your own games either on this channel or your main channel? The insights / in depth build info are super interesting.
I love how even this has been. If this was 14 one sided games, not many would care for them all to be casted. But as it is right now, it's amazing. I know Artosis has been saying Rain is the better player but I duuunno. 4-4 even games?? Unless Rain wins all the rest they seem equally matched.
this one Rain really got outplayed. And I'm not sure why but even supply-wise you could see Zelot having an advantage - if you don't count workers, their army supplies were about even most of the game and of course that favors Zerg
Not the first time seeing this pattern on this map. I was expecting the loser to come up with a different approach, it feels like playing conventional is hard to pull off.
You know with the base always so exposed to that game ending tactic, I would expect that they would at least invest in some vision to just spot it easily as it costs them almost nothing to leave a spotter unit there and the spotter unit gives you so much time to for counter-play against that tactic.
Excellent series But I want to comment on production of the content. Thank you for speaking with Volume. I watch other games sometimes and find myself having to max out my volume to hear the comments on some people's videos. I have never had that issue here. Thank You Very much for that.
Hey HNY, Artosis! Wish you the best!!! Thanks for what you're doing for the SC community!!! Also, let me know if there is any way I can support you on Patreon or sth
can u please write the name of the players in the title ? :/ its in my opinion better to memorize, something like "flash vs jaedong - fitting yt title"
You asked last video "how can these guys play 14 matches IN A ROWWW?! TOGETHER?!" well the answer is "because its fun lol" seriously though -- can easily see why neither one got bored with how engaging and tit for tat their matchup, personally, is. like arty, i think if you played 5 "good games" in a row, your head would explode.
We Zerg get accused of cheese unless we attack after Terran/Protoss have turtled up and built 30 cannons/turrets on three bases and moved their 190/200 army out into the middle of the map. And then god forbid we use dark storm and plague. The whole point of Zerg is aggression and swarming. Go be a turtle Zerg and see where that gets you.
Do all 14 please!! won't be able to survive without knowing the final result
inb4 7 to 7 tie 😈
I have to say arty, I just love the way you explain what is going on, histories of players, tactics, etc. It's such a plessure to watch!
Agreed

I loved it when Zelot said “It’s dropping time” and then dropped all over Rain.
My favorite part
Zelot made it rain.
@@Okiwano oh no...
Shut up and sleep with me...
Rain made too many Zealots against Zelot so Zelot made it rain on Rain!
Watching these games every morning while eating breakfast is the best, Thank you for always casting and posting these Artosis!
I like how SC1 has a lot more positioning and feinting and withdrawing going on. In SC2, you blink and your units die, making it a tiny bit less of an outmaneivering game.
The squishiness is one of my main problems with SC2
Damn this is a great series. They're going blow for blow and I've never really watched any brood war content quite like this. Good call casting these!
This is a fun series. If you find other pro matches that last more than one game. It's fun seeing the progression of multiple games
I'd love to see a deep dive of a particular strat - a couple videos where you know one player will deploy a particular tactic and exploring why it works/doesn't work and what goes right and wrong in each game (and why)

I loved it when MC Hammer said “STOP. HAMMER time!” And then does the dance.
Man, such back and forth series
I am loving this series! I do think it hammering out 2 a day would be good tho. 20-30 mins is the ideal length for my lunchbreak video! Thanks for the content!
Thanks for continuing to upload these, ZeLoT is my favorite player atm
Thanks for still casting Broodwar Artosis, how long we have all come from the days of having to download the GOM Player to watching to youtube. Happy 2024!
I went to a movie theater to get popcorn for this. Microwave doesn't cut it. Amazing game!
thank you for planning to finish this series
This renaissance in Starcraft warms my poor heart! And Artosis has so vigilantly knighted it!! :)
Love the casts every morning Arty! Remember the video you made where you suggested potential adjustments for a Broodwar balance patch? You should see about hosting a tournament with the experimental balance changes you suggested.
I’ve said this in the past. But I would love to see casts of old series from the Kespa era. Or maybe even the old TSLs
This series is so fun to watch!
One of the most biggest drops I've ever seen
Please call it "The 14-game Extravaganza"
Thanks for the posts. Watching brood war makes me feel like a kid again!
I love non-fancy real ladder games that can end abruptly
i've now conditioned myself to starting my work day with an artosis casts and a coffee
I love seeing how they adapt to one another and the games morph
Best series for a while
ah zelot and rain completing my day
These games are astonishing. However I would like to watch from time to time an F rank game like you casted some time ago. It was fun to watch something different than typical openers and tactics.
These games are great, both players very fun to watch
At this point, I’m more invested in this than anything in my life.
I agree that you should do all 14 games bro. Love your videos!!🤗

Do all the rest in a row, I don't particularly care for pvz but I'm completely invested in this series at this point.
*Laying in bed with wife*
her:" I wonder what he's thinking about"
him: "I need Rain & ZeLot casts in my life"
Zelot is always a fun watch.
Every time with these early Hatches/Droning behind a Hydra contain look so strong. When I watch them I just ask myself "Why do any other build?"
@ArtosisCasts Any chance you are doing some casts of your own games either on this channel or your main channel? The insights / in depth build info are super interesting.

Zelot my new fav Zerg. Please post more Zelot vs mini bisu or flash(after this crazy series)

YES, MY FAVOURITE BROODWAR COMMENTATOR STRIKES AGAIN! I LOVE YOU, ARTY! WISHING YOU MUCH HAPPINES IN 2024!
You read all the comments? What a nice young man you are.
What a great drop!
Excellent contain by Zealot. A Terran might break out using tanks and vessels. What about Protoss?
Excellent series
But I want to comment on production of the content.
Thank you for speaking with Volume.

Good contain. Thanks for the cast Artosis!
1:26 OMG HES WEEEEEET
RT "Hey guys" octave level 1
It's been 19 minutes where's the next one
I love to see purple in the map.
KEEP THEM COMING!
That finale oh boy
Love the casts!!
Hey HNY, Artosis! Wish you the best!!! Thanks for what you're doing for the SC community!!!
Also, let me know if there is any way I can support you on Patreon or sth
Love the series!
I'm enjoying them.
can u please write the name of the players in the title ? :/
its in my opinion better to memorize, something like "flash vs jaedong - fitting yt title"
Amazing game! Thanks again artosis
Nice Recall.
Dayum, nice drop
do the full 14 games
Funny how these (not ASL champions) are more entertaining than the highest Pro level
Please finish all 14 games so as not leave us feeling hanging.. you can do 2 games per video.. that leaves u with 3 more days.
You asked last video "how can these guys play 14 matches IN A ROWWW?! TOGETHER?!"
well the answer is "because its fun lol"
seriously though -- can easily see why neither one got bored with how engaging and tit for tat their matchup, personally, is. like arty, i think if you played 5 "good games" in a row, your head would explode.
Zelot just didn’t notice that his opponent was the same, nor did he care in his primal Zerg bloodlust frenzy.
Why his name is Zelot if he is a Zerg player?
Because why not
perhaps it’s intentional poke at arty for how he pronounces zealot. and zelot wants to pay homage to such a gg caster
8 games in, im convinced Zealot is the better player
i always wondered why zerg doesnt do this more often. so effective.
Just cast all 14 and stop edging us lmfao
Any PvP or ZvZ incoming?
rain build a reaver WTF is he doing in all these games
Damn, how are you supposed to play against this? It was a perfect play by the zerg.
ANTI SPOILER
PvZ is just a crazy hard matchup, at least on this level.
Zelot doesnt know late game play…alway some kind of cheese
We Zerg get accused of cheese unless we attack after Terran/Protoss have turtled up and built 30 cannons/turrets on three bases and moved their 190/200 army out into the middle of the map. gg
Yeaaa
For the algo
EZ Protoss
Spoiling your own casts is really stupid
: )
1st
Fu why one game
Artosis can you please please please stop giving away what happens in the game in the title / thumbnail.
