Not gonna lie, every time I see the train station scene from Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away, I just start tearing up. I can't describe the feeling. The perfect framing, the immaculate animation, and the somber music. One of the greatest scenes in film history. Thank you for an awesome cover man!
It's also the scene where you realize that Chihiro has found herself and is calmly stepping forward into her own life. It comes together with the timing, animation, and the music to make for a quietly emotional moment.
Buy: tinyurl.com/yyp9ov9z Thank you so much for viewing my latest cover. It means the world to me 😍. This recording is dedicated to Sarah Carney, my best friend, and my unofficial sister. She has always loved this movie, and I've always loved her, so she gets yet another video dedicated to her. As you may have noticed, I play the track note for note in the beginning, but once I make it to the end of the piece, I add some improvisational bits to it. I hope you don't find it offensive, I was just having some fun! Stay tuned for the next video on Friday!
Ive always loved this movie and this piece too. Coincidence? I think not! I love it as always. My favorite song when i was on my last year of high school. Means the world to me. So happy you played it for your bestie.
This scene is simply the greatest in any Ghibli film in my opinion. Everything about it is perfect. Would be up there for greatest scene in any film ever i would say.
I've always imagine all the times Kyle has been until high hours of the night, just playing his piano, alone, just him and the music and nothing else, that's just breathtaking
I forgot how beautifully atmospheric this track was. My favorite Ghibli film and this takes me back to when I first watched it back in the day on VHS. Thx for sharing!
Your slow and unhurried pace here perfectly captures the mood of Sixth Station, and paired well with the minimalist style of Hisaishi's original composition. Great job!
Just woke up. Never in my life have I clicked something so fast. I actually learned this piece years ago and I love playing it. I’m so glad you played it so close to how it was originally written. Not to mention once you do improvise the piece, it’s so beautiful. You make it your own in a way that I would be amazed if anyone found it disrespectful. It’s really an art. Thank you.
So pretty. Spirited Away is also one of my all time favorites. This piece as well. While I do love 'One Summer's Day', I just think it gets overplayed too much, and the rest of the ost gets abandoned. I love that your giving 'The Sixth Station' some love though. Listening to this has made me want to go and watch it again :) it's been a while.
I was listening to this piece from the OST and I wondered if is there a piano version on UA-cam. This was exactly what I imagined but..dude, it went more far than I expected. Got a new subscriber✌🏻
Thank you so much for this! This song really struck me when I first heard it in Spirited Away; that was a difficult time in my life, and I really empathized with Chihiro. Your improvisation made me feel like I was hearing this song for the first time again! It really took me somewhere emotional, so thank you, again.
I never usually comment on UA-cam videos but I just have to say that this is the most beautiful cover of this song I have ever heard. I’m in such awe of your talent and would love to play like you some day 🌈
This song means an incredible amount to me and it means so much to see it played faithful to the original first. It makes me appreciate the cover after it so much more. Beautiful work as always!
Kyle, Ive been watching you on youtube for about 9-10 years and you’re honestly such a master at your craft. Thank you for doing this song. I can tell how much you pour your soul into everything you do, and it’s amazed me for 1/3 of my life
One of my favourite Hisaishi's composition, and one of the first piece I've learned on piano. Super happy to hear your extended version! I really love the improvised runs you added in the last bit, it works extremely well
This is by far one of the best tracks by Kyle. This and Dearly Beloved 2010. (Of course, not saying there aren't others that are amazing!) If you can grace us with a remaster of the 2010 on Apple Music on Lossless, I would be in your debt! This song played back in 24-bit 44.1Khz (125MB for a single song) wearing a pair of Shure SE535's shows me that a lot of people have NO IDEA what music is today. The level of calmness and relaxation from listening to this is just crazy. Keep doing what you do and we thank you so much for posting these gems!
You literally just blew my mind, like I was already enjoying everything and just to witness and hear you put that extension to the song... a beautiful masterpiece 👏🏽👏🏽
God I love the soundtrack of that movie so much. I can't get enough of this and I cant wait till I become good enough on the piano to play more of its pieces

Water Hazard I get a very similar wave of emotion myself. So many different feelings that it’s almost too overwhelming to watch (and listen).
I so agree with you beyond perfect
Water Hazard I just get the same feeling as you. So moving and mysterious in the same time. This movie can’t get old.
Same. It is a weird feeling. That sunset light. Train move. Where our life is going. All the question. I can't describe. It is sad but also not sad.
It's also the scene where you realize that Chihiro has found herself and is calmly stepping forward into her own life. It comes together with the timing, animation, and the music to make for a quietly emotional moment.

Don't put the dedication first, nor last. It's a post-mortem salute >.>
i wished i could play the piano as well as you...
Love this piece so much! Thanx for sharing. I have a hard time atm and this song always gives me hope. I hope you will add it to spotify ❤
It's as good as it get
I like the lighting in this a lot. However the pikachu in the right stares at me and it’s kind of making me rethink life.
I had to include the pika because sarah made me that
It's because he chose you ...
I remember when I made things using perler beads. Those were the good days.
This scene is simply the greatest in any Ghibli film in my opinion. Everything about it is perfect. Would be up there for greatest scene in any film ever i would say.

That part at 6:29, so beautiful, such an ethereal vibes to it
Truly mesmerising version 😭♥️ Joe Hisaishi is one of the best contemporary composers.

Fushi yea he’s the composer of these pieces.
Who doesn’t?!?!
I'm a simple girl: I see Kyle playing the Sixth Station, and I drop everything to listen. It was every bit as beautiful as I knew it'd be. :)
