Although there are only three pieces in this medley, I somehow lost track of time and made this into the longest video I have ever posted to date! Hopefully you all will be able to stick around from start to finish! If not, this video could serve for good background music while studying, writing, reading, running, exercising, drawing, or browsing the net if you can't seem to focus on music for this amount of time (it certainly takes years of practice to be able to contain one's focus on long pieces of music. Try listening to a Mahler Symphony if you really want to test your musical attention span!)
In any case, the piece starts off with One Summer's Day, then slips into Oriental Wind, and creeps its way into Howl's Moving Castle theme, which lasts for quite a considerable amount of time until we revisit the last two pieces in a symmetrical fashion near the end. Meaning we go back to Oriental Wind for a bit, then back into One Summer's Day to close. This form will be outlined below.
    Musical Line Up:
    One Summer's Day 00:02-01:40
    Oriental Wind 01:41-03:47
    Howl's Moving Castle 03:48-12:20
    Oriental Wind 12:21-13:10
    One Summer's Day 13:11-16:32
This is quite an unconventional medley in that it doesn't feature 5 separate pieces, yet the same three pieces, repeated. Hopefully this doesn't bore you, but I tried my best to keep the flow, and most especially the emotional content. Some of you may notice that I held back quite a bit in terms of technique this time! Nonetheless, I would love to hear your opinions, feedback, even criticism (as long as we are not pointlessly reciting areas of blunder).
Please enjoy, comment, like, share, favorite and subscribe if you already haven't as there will be plenty more to come, as always!
    Your Pianist,
    Kyle :)

This is beautiful and a stellar way for me to procrastinate without feeling guilty about watching crappy videos because this is far from crap. Never stop playing piano :) You have the all-to-rare ability to capture the essence of each song you perform. You never simply play notes, you feel them. That's something many musicians can only hope to do.

I wasnt bored AT ALL! This almost made me cry, i recently moved from my country for good and left the people I love, the things I threasure as well as my piano, this song kept me thinking on all of that, second by second, I just loved it so much I could hear this every single day. You are becoming my favorite pianist amongst Yanni. Thank you so much for those beautiful songs, I hope I could meet you someday and play at least as half as good as you do..

Hot damn, this was fantastish! I've listened to your rendition of Howl's Moving Castle a number of times, but this medley was entirely unique with the key changes and tempo moderations. THE BEST, though, was that smooth jazzy ending, where you kept doing trills and rolls and just kind of classing it up. Love it man, you inspire the hell out of me.

The reason Kyle is better than any half bit youtuber is due to his original interpretations on popular music.. If I want to listen to Comptine, or Kingdom Hearts Melodies in their standard form I'll listen to the original. Yes, on occasion sometimes his variations do contrast from the original, but that is what makes his uploads interesting and a delight to listen to.
This, ironically despite your comment, is more faithful to the originals than most, and is very enjoyable imo..

Beautiful. I love Studio Ghibli's and Hayao Miyazaki's lovely movies, Joe Hisaishi's magical and wonderful music in their movies and your awesome piano playing!

That was amazing. I'm having chills of nostalgia because I watched all of these movies with my sister back when I was a little kid. We don't get to see each other much now but this reminded me of the fun times she and I shared and I even began to tear up remembering the enjoyment I had while watching these movies with her. Thank you for making this video. :D

Damn man. This really inspires me to keep playing. Thanks so much man. It's been a while since I've clicked on your videos, and I see it's my own loss HAHA. So amazing Kyle...Hearing this medley reminded me I have one of these beautiful songs literally sitting in a envelope above me, just begging to be taken out and learned. I think I'm going to do that in the next couple weeks...thanks Kyle, you're absolutely brilliant, keep going, no matter what anyone says :)

As pianist of 9 years, I've done my share of interpreting music to adapt to how I see it. Every pianist is entitled to his view on how a music can be played. In fact, as it was mentioned earlier, music shouldn't ever be stagnant. It's a dynamic art form, just like visual art. Arranging music is an art form on its own. It doesn't have to portray the same feel as the original. On the contrary, I've seen arrangements made that give feelings that are polar opposites from the original. Still awesome.
