  • Just a quick video with my first test flight and overall first impressions of the Flywing Bell 206.
    I DONT recommend anyone to fly in an enclosed space. This was just a quick test of mechanics before I venture out on my maiden voyage. I just feel safer knowing she will perform well once I move to a public area to fly. It is NOT recommend to fly in an enclosed area.
    My best experiences buying these model is direct from Flywing themselves...

    I purchased this rc model earlier this year. Yes, she is a beautiful example of the Bell 206 Jet Ranger. You did a very good job flying around your wonderful garden space on first flight. I'm 14 flights in now, open space parkland. Gentle take off and landings, it's a joy to fly.

      @ady-uk7150 couldn't agree more. This video was just me testing mechanics and gps before I venture to a public space. I still haven't had a proper maiden yet. I'm in the UK and currently we have snow and high winds disrupting any chance of having a flight.... Wednesday might be good.... 🤞

    Yes, what a Beauty, the Bell 206. The Fuselage has more Details then the Huey UH-1 from Flywing. And its a better Quality, but i love the UH-1 a lot. The TakeOff is soso smooth, also the Landing. Nice Flight. Ty Mr. Tumps Up👍👍

      @hustenbon69 Toataly agree that this Bell 206 has the nicest fuselage in the Flywing range. Personally the Huey is my favourite out of them all but due to weather I've had very little time with the Bell 206 so my opinion might change, especially after I try the X4 Rotor on it. As soon as the weather is a bit better I will be taking the Bell out with X4 Rotor and will post a video of my impressions with it after modification.

    • @Tucker_T
      @Tucker_T  2 місяці тому +1

      @thatsmyrc I've not heard that one yet.... maybe it was an older problem as I've only been around flywing products for about 6 months. I'm active in the fb groups and now part of the admin team, meaning I'm very active on that forum and that's the first I've heard of these scenarios. But I'm sure it can happen. The bolts should indeed have locktite on them. But if those people done preflight inspections then surely they should have noticed a loose bolt on the tail.... trust me they are very hard to remove, if it should move easily on pre inspection then definitely remove and use threadlock. Unfortunately these helis get a lot of stuff like that as generally beginners are using them and generally they don't understand preflight checks etc.... and it's not just from new it's before every flight too. I personally believe a lot of issues people report are more user error than heli error. People like to blame the machine rather than themselves! 🤣 I say this as I now have 4 models and all are absolutely fine! Checks and maintenance are crucial every flight. If they did have missing threadlock they should have noticed this upon checks as bolt would easily turn.... lol. But try yours and see how tight it is, just make sure to have loctite to hand if you crack it open. I've actually just this second changed my tail blade on 206 for a red and white one and it had locktite on and was stuck fast.... always check and double check would be my suggestion to these people as it probably could have been avoided..... 🙄

    Nice, although its odd and a real pity the manufacturer has placed the tail rotor on the wrong side of the tail boom! I therefore imagine the main rotor also rotates in the opposite (wrong) direction to the real aircraft. I wonder why they couldn't make it so it was correct to the real helicopter....?🤔
    Its a nice model overall and its ability to fly so steadily is fantastic! Ive never flown an RC helicopter....have always wanted to and I have always loved the Jet Ranger. Its an absolute classic design and as iconic as an E-Type Jaguar. (Same period in history too). It never looks old. Having worked with the real thing for several years in my past, I have to say those moulded 'rivets' are massive! The actual aircraft has very smooth surfaces with very small rivets where they are not entirely flush. Also, it could do with the over head glazing being painted in if there are no actual transparencies on the model. A tinted blue or blue/green shade would be authentic.
    Great demo of a nice model. Thanks! 👍🏼

    • @Tucker_T
      @Tucker_T  Місяць тому

      @lawrencemartin1113 it seems to be a common thing with putting the tail rotors on the wrong side! Why manufacturer's do this I haven't a clue. I agree those rivets are very large, although to big I prefer having something rather than nothing. The Flywing Bell 222 (Airwolf) has very little detail in comparison to this Bell 206. In my opinion this is by far the nicest looking shell flywing have produced, yes it's not true to scale but it's still a beauty and the GPS really helps keep it safe from harm! 🤣

    • @Tucker_T
      @Tucker_T  Місяць тому +2

      @Chetto1965 I took off in GPS mode but you are right most flywing models take off like a rocket! Especially the FW450. Its all down to technique, there is a way to get all Flywing models to take off slowly. It's a little bit fidely but once you get it once it's easy. This works best with a spring loaded throttle/collective. Add a tiny amount of UP ⬆️ (throttle/collective) then after about 2 seconds release stick back to centre and Heli will take off slowly.... you need a tiny amount of throttle to do this. Add throttle, then release back to centre.... 👍

      @Chetto1965 No worries, hopefully you'll work it out. As said once you do it once and get the feel of it, it becomes easy to do. Just add a little throttle and release after 2 seconds. If it doesn't take off try a little more until you get it right. If it still takes off like a rocket just decrease the amount..... I'm sure you'll work it out. Good Luck and Happy Flying!

    where can you fly these legally in the uk? i see all the hassle drone users get and imagine farmers would kick off if over thier field

    • @Tucker_T
      @Tucker_T  Місяць тому +2

      @steveo3002 If you were to follow the rules to the letter then the answer would be not very many places. Most councills have banned the use of RC aircraft in the majority of parks in the UK, you can't fly on any national trust land, you can't fly within 80m's of commercial or residential properties, you can't fly over roads, you can't fly where you might cause a disturbance to wildlife, you can't fly near members of the public. Your best options are at a club where you have landowners permission or indeed any farmland with farmers permission. This really limits where you can legally fly, it all boils down to common sense really, just go to the quietest place without any people or properties near by, that way you won't get any complaints and of course the most important thing is to make sure your not flying in a restricted airspace zone. I've had my fair share of people getting on their high horse so I do my best to fly somewhere isolated from others. Tbh most people are not bothered and quite fascinated when they see these birds flying but you always get the odd person that beleives they know it all!
      One thing I have noticed though is since I've been wearing a camera on my head most people tend to stay away from you rather than approach you. I found this to be very useful at keeping the moaners at bay.... 🤣

      @steveo3002 If it's what you want don't let a few rules stop you getting one. Again if your safe and sensible you shouldn't have any issues. I generally travel 30-60 mins to most of my flying spots. I'm not a club kinda person so don't use them myself. My closet club is only 15-20 mins away but that's not my scene, I like to fly solo 😉. Have a search locally and see if you have any spots close by. I'm on Devon/Cornwall border and we have a disused airport from ww2 in Davidstow and flying of rc craft is permitted on the east runway. Worth looking into if you want to participate in this hobby, generally when I fly I make a day of it, I don't mind travelling for peace of mind...

    • @Tucker_T
      @Tucker_T  Місяць тому +2

      @simonbirt6121 yeah I remember those days too! Lol. They have designed this system for that exact reason. So many people leave this hobby or are to scared to get started due to the difficulties. Technology has moved on and now you can slowly progress with different flight modes. I beleive if it attracts more people to the hobby then it's only a good thing as more custom means more demand and development. If you want to start the hard way as I did and yourself by the sounds of it you can select manual mode (3d) and heli is no different to any other collective pitch chopper. In manual mode there is absolutely no assistance whatsoever from the H1 controller. So if you want the challenge it's still available... I so wish this tech was around when I started to fly as I would have saved £1000's in repairs and replacements! Maybe it does spoil that learning curve but there is no fun in constantly crashing and these birds are not cheap. 👍

      @ Thanks, that is useful. I built and flew mainly fixed wing. I had a brief flirtation with rotary, which involved a lot of time money and practice. Fast forward 30 years and I was flying the full size versions, including helicopters which are much easier when you are sitting in them.

    • @Tucker_T
      @Tucker_T  Місяць тому

      @simonbirt6121 I'm the same, I've always mainly been a fixed wing flyer myself. I've dabbled in helis for a while but as you say they are hard to fly, I spent more time crashing than I did flying! Lol. That's the main reason I stopped flying helis, but with this new system if I get into trouble or disorientated i can quickly hit the GPS switch and heli will hold itself in position allowing me to pull myself back together and start again. I only really use my GPS as a fail safe when in trouble and it has saved me a lot of heartache and misery. I've had over 800 mins on my Flywing models and not had 1 crash yet! When flying normal collective/fixed pitch helis I could barely go 3-4 batteries without a crash! If it wasn't for this system I might not have started flying Helicopters again.
      I'd love to try the real thing! One can only imagine that orientation is easier whilst sat in the pilots seat! Your very lucky to have such an experience! 👌

      @dawnsinclair2367 We can inneed, these heli's cater for all pilots no matter the skill level....

    Nice, but too much electronics makes it too similar to a drone. If I were to let go of the radio control sticks on my TREX450 helicopter for just a moment, I would lose control with catastrophic effects. For me, the beauty of flying a radio-controlled helicopter is precisely in the difficulty and speed of reaction that must be given to the commands to make it fly as realistically as a real model.

      @marconidi3128 It can fly like a full CP heli if you want it too. GPS is one flight mode out of 4. You are correct normal CP/FP helis can be ridiculously hard to learn! Been there done that lol. For me the GPS is a great failsafe, if your disoriented whilst flying you can hit the GPS switch and heli will hover on the spot allowing you to pull yourself back together.... this tech has saved me a lot of money and misery, sure I can fly other helis but I'd be the first to admit I was never a great pilot and have spent 1000's repairing and replacing models. Since flying these helicopters I've not had one crash! That is not to be moaned at! I'm very greatful of this new tech. The biggest problem is that a lot of noobs to the hobby don't progress past gps mode which is a problem as if there is an issue with the GPS (happens) then they are generally doomed as once GPS is lost they soon realise they can't fly at all 😂.

    ..Hello, it is really risky to fly a helicopter in this environment even with GPS.

    • @Tucker_T
      @Tucker_T  2 місяці тому +7

      @pierrelazzeri7291 yes and it's even riskier testing a brand new heli out the box in a public space. Every test of a new heli I will perform in an enclosed private space rather than in a public area. Apart from myself exactly who did I put at risk? Or should I go to a public area and test a gps heli there? That's not a great idea, If I had a dodgy gps unit heli wouldn't have had the opportunity to flyaway...

      @David-hi9rp Can you get a bigger Heli at this price point? I'm looking at moving upto at least 500 size and your talking over 1K... have you seen the yuxiang heli's half this size and they cost £500. .. please share where you can get a 450/470 scale heli for less than £5-600?

    change the values on the hanset to 1400 from 3d mode to atti

    • @Tucker_T
      @Tucker_T  2 місяці тому

      @adriansullivan-q9i Yes atti or 6g might have been a better idea or just stick to the side garden 😂 Lol. This was purely a hover test before maiden. Not somewhere I'd normally fly and certainly not recommend, my normal locations are currently inaccessible due to snow and I was keen to check mechanics before I venture out to a public space! Thanks for the advise 👍
