Rockford Boylan High School in an astonishing no-time-left punt return and walk-off 2 point conversion against the Oak Park Fenwick Friars on Nov. 3, 2012
I was lucky enough football program back in 2000 when we went 11-1 and made it to the quarter finals and my senior year in 2001 when we went 11-2 and made it to the semi-finals. I played with PR Noah Russo, who set the IHSA record punt return for TD for 99+ yards during my junior year, the same game i belive in which i made the game clinching interception. This was a miracle, plain and simple! I miss those days and wish ne of my teams would have made it all the way(SO CLOSE) Congrats TITANS!
Hey Clarence, I was on tht Friars team. What the score board doesnt say is tht there was 19 seconds left to play. And as you know we were at lik the 50 yard line so we were gonna take r chances with punting it away (which it was a good punt) thn to jus give it back with good field position. Obviously tht bit us in the ass but hey sometimes shit hits the fan
No idea why you don't kick it out of bounds, especially when the guy returning the football is clearly a good return man. Your coach made a very dumb decision.
I am not a Boylan fan in the least bit, but even I have to admit that was pretty awesome. Then again, the Fenwich coach should be fired for actually punting the ball inbounds.
Why kick it? Why? If you are a fan of high school football check out one of my videos of this running back with a crazy stiff arm and throws this kid about 5 yards.
I do believe in miracles, but not on this play. More like Do U believe in stupidity by the Friars - Why kick the ball to anybody. Run a 4th down play - kick it out of bounds. Poor coaching decision that leads to the miracle play.
Never gets old. I remember being there in the student section. Storming the field and all, great win all around.
