You still have this filter ? Do you still think it's great ? Was looking at it and it looks impressive and is flow rate good ? Any help greatly appreciate it thanks 👍
I just cleaned mine. Pretty easy but heavy. I used a furniture dolly a piece of plywood and another piece of plywood to put over the opening of the dolly. Put the filter on the dolly and roll it out. I used the other piece of plywood for a ramp. Empty the water outside changed the media and put it back under the tank. Best filter ever
Thanks for the review! I just bought this filter for a 75 gallon. Was the out flow Super strong? I'm hoping it's not too strong I have to put something over outflow.
Hey guys I just purchased this max flow filter. Has anyone having trouble making it prime? Question do you think if I cut the hoses down for a tighter fit that might help? Always used cascade canisters and sometimes problems priming those. Was trying something different.
you absolutely need to fill the "bucket" up with water before turning it on. these are "self starting" but they require water to self start. similar to a hang on back filter you need to fill them up with water first. hope this helps.
Yea that attachment must be for priming only. I could see you adding a air stone with pump in there , however water could over flow through the hole if not plugged in
Beast of a filter.
Keep us posted on the performance of the filter.

Love it more than ever, working strong and no nitrates, ammonia or nitrites in tank. The tank is heavy stocked with Peacocks.
Ok cool what media do use ? Biohome ?
Yes and that filter will hold a lot of Biohome, it gets a little expensive though, however, its one clean tank.@@bernardwillman8043

I have a used penn plax 1000 from Craigslist and that thing is a monster! Works like nothing I’ve ever seen before filter wise

This is cheaper than an fx6 online you would recommend it?

It's about the same at the FX6, shouldn't be too bad for hardy fish, something like angels, yeah you will have to muffle that somehow.
I can't get it to prime. Anyone know any tricks?
fill it up with water first. remove the lid, pour water into it, put the lid back on and enjoy. hope this helps
i love my its sooo good filter🥰🥰🥰🥰🥰
I've always had a "soft spot" for Penn Plax!
Nice to hear their filter is great.

I use a portable vacuum at the intake valve for 2 secs. It’s creates a strong suction and close the valve. It’s works for me.

Other hole must be for maintenance? Lol idk why they would have that there either.
I use mine on a 1500 gallon koi pond, alway clear water. Test weekly
