Great uncorking of a highly anticipated bottle. Love your honesty and respect for the Bourbon, even when it does not meet your expectations. You two are my favorite. Thank you guys.
Yeah it was definitely more luck than Perry. Haha happy to have had a hand in it though! For everyone wondering, the podcast episode comes out not next week but the week after and we dive real deep into this one.
Great review guys, Love the honesty! You two are second to none, and we'll always be a patron of yours. It's a little sad to hear that this didn't live up to the expectations, but that 1920 is hard to beat!
Great job as always and I agree with you guys that I can’t find anything better from Brown foreman than 1920. Look forward to seeing the rest of the barrel proof flights when they’re out
I had been watching you for a while and I love what you both do. Starting to appreciate bourbons and scotches, and collecting the rares. Keep up with the great work on your videos
Let it sit for 6 months and then do another video and tell us what you think. now that air is in the bottle. The heat will go away and the flavors will go BOOM!!!! Cheers keep up the great work and "It's Bourbon Night" for the win!!!!!! :)
Great vid as always. I notice you tried this bourbon out of Glencairns, and glassware can make a huge difference in your taste experience. Maybe try it out of your usual tribeca glasses? Who knows, you might like it better.
When that bottle is half gone, review it again. I am working on my 2nd bottle of 1920 which really disapointed. Now that it has been open for about a month and is half gone, the mojo is back. Its delish. Great review.
If past Chad and Sara meet current Chad and Sara would a Star Trek time loop result in which King of Kentucky drop to $50 a bottle?....NAH! :) Great video guys! I may try it if I see it at my local pub but at $200 I'll pass. Thanks for the heads up!
I bought the most recent Old Forester The President’s Choice at the distillery.. did I blind side by side w OF1920. 1920 definitely better and significantly cheaper too.
If I were you what I have found with a lot of Brown Foreman stuff is that wait 3 months and review it a second time. I find that the oxidation that happens upon the higher proof stuff really mellows it out.
Hey guys. As usual..thanks for the great review. You saved me alot of money as I had a chance to get a bottle. Looks like I will see if I can score a sample from somewhere. Cheers!
Something to consider as well...this is a single barrel offering, it's possible you got a mediocre barrel. Don't get me wrong, I won't pay over $100 for a bottle of anything so this doesn't interest me at all...just sayin.
Great post. I tend to agree regarding bottles over $100. The question being, is the difference in taste worth the price increase. After all a bottle of OF 1920, and Single Barrel KC 120 come in at about $75-80 and I'd stack them up against anything. Maybe we need a stat like Baseball's WAR (Wins over replacement) called PBAR (Pricey Bourbon Against Replacement) ! :)
Wait...so when they chill filter a whiskey, they scrape the fat off the top. I’m confused. On an unrelated note, please come see my new band “Green Bean Metaphor”
Many of these prices are completely unjustifiable. The industry really needs to step back and stop price gouging the public i dont care what it is 230 bucks is stupid and its just not worth it.

Great video! Always great to get the real info on the unicorns, because it helps us avoid instant regret for overpaying.

Perry!! You the man !
Thank you for the honest assessment
You’ve done bourbon consumers a great service with this review. Well done and thank you.
Great review thanks for your honesty. Now I can spend money on something that I will actually drink. Cheers

Would love to try it. I've heard a few compare it to the likes of GTS...

Curious how it tastes after it sits for a month on the shelf after being opened.
I like that u guys try different whiskey s for I due the same also differ spice rums if u like spice plus u have good pallet

Maybe revisit in a month or so, it may settle down, hopefully.
I would love to enjoy some great bourbon when you guys come to Austin.
Let's do it!
Whew! A unicorn whiskey that I don't have to track down!!
Would love to see a follow up in 6-8 mos see how it opens over time
I know that my 2014 Birthday was put on a shelf for about a year before revisiting and when I did it was 20 times better than the first pour id had.
To me there is a tie as king of bourbon, GTS and WLW. I wonder if the rapid evaporation affected the tannins of this bourbon...
and Fred picked this as his top American whiskey of 2019...
I get a synthetic nose with some Jefferson’s offerings, mostly the small batch. I describe it as smelling like Vinyl.
Chad dig the shirt bro 👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽👍🏽😎🥃
hey, Chad,
I believe this is the second time you've imitated Jimmy Stewart - you're getting better...
Does anyone have any tips for finding these harder to find bourbons?
i will be moving to colorado in a year or so,
hopefully i’ll have better luck out there than i do here. Thanks though! I’ll keep looking.
Move to Kentucky!
Is it as hot as the Stagg 144.1?
Thanks for saving me $200 or more! I will continue drinking my Old Forester 1920.
Rewatching this one, noticed it's bottle #69! Heh..
SHE IS ONLY 28!!!???? HOLY MOLY!!!! How old is Chad? Your both very lucky to have the chance to taste and drink these amazing times in history.
well, with air and time in the bottle .. surely .. half full .. like a month
yeah, it'll do what it need do, by the sounds of it.
Can you tell me what a birthday bourbon is?
Thank you for making me feel ok for not trying to get a bottle.
Early Times 354 would have been a perfect control bourbon.
So basically there are $35-40 bottles of Bourbon that are just as good. If not better...
just saw a bottle sell for 720 the other day lol
a great honest (but disappointing) review - THANKS!!
GOD YOU LOOK SO MUCH YOUNGER THEN WHAT HE SAID
Hey guys. As usual..thanks for the great review. You saved me alot of money as I had a chance to get a bottle. Looks like I will see if I can score a sample from somewhere. Cheers!
You two must have a lot of bourbon shirts. I don't think I have seen yall wear the same one in multiple videos!
sharper4221 I bet it’s mykentuckytee.com 😉
The one chad is wearing is Hops 2 go. From live show a month ago
Does Perry get a share? lol
Yep, when we review it on his podcast. Episode coming in a few weeks, I think!
So are you guys saying that this one would be a little hard for me to handle with just starting to drink bourbon at the age of 56? LOL
By the way Sarah looks good in glasses. And I like the fact Chad curls his hat brim. Bourbon drinkers don't wear hats with flat brims. :)
We call it The Kentucky Curve ;)
NOBODY looks good in a flat bill...fact!!!
Watched but really didn't get why you disliked it so much. Apparently you don't like high proof bourbon. But appreciate the honesty.

They kind of look like "Malcom X" glasses.

14 Year Old Early Times....
Chad - gotta brush up on your Math buddy! Having to look at a package to multiply by 2 ???
may I purchase this bottle for $800 please, by the way
Sara - love you Guys - but you gotta loose those spec's. :)
She looks great in glasses. Sexy smart girl next door look.
Ouch that price is crazy talk! I'm sorry that it disappointed for you.
