yes I remember the who shot jr. cliff hanger. classic did you know they filmed like 30 different endings for that one so none of the cast members would know who shot him until the last minute. pretty ingenious.
@@danielcorreard3746 The only one who knew for sure who shot J.R. was actress Linda Gray, who played Sue Ellen...other cast members might had a clue, however the only 1 who knew for sure...was Linda Gray. 😊
No, Katherine Wentworth knew it was Bobby in JR's office because she saw JR leave the building. She heard the noise in JR's office so she knew it was Bobby there and not JR. It was explained in the next season when she tried to kill Bobby again while in the hospital.
Did anyone evernotice that when Bobby pushed Pam out of the way of the oncoming car; her shoe came off and went under the car....when she crawled to him on her knees, the shoe was back on! Still a wonderfully put together scene, when the car is coming at her in real time it is going really fast, VP had a lot of guts to stand there knowing a speeding car was coming up behind her - I guess it veered away at the last moment and was cut out of the final shot? A great scene and a great cliffhanger.
You'd think after a while JR would've figured out that he always got screwed over around the end of May. If terrible things kept happening to me the same time every year I'd lock myself up at home or something lol. That doesn't include the year his brother came back to life...wait that wasn't real...but technically none of it's real. Aaargh, I'm thinking too much lol.
I'm writing that i was reading online that Warner Bros. studios is planning to make all 356 episodes from all 14 seasons of DALLAS, upgraded in a brand new picture quality, available to stream on the streaming service MAX in 2024.
There needs to be some corrections here: The 1979 cliffhanger was when Sue Ellen was driving while she was drunk and ran into a telephone pole, pregnant with John Ross. The cliffhanger from 1981 was when the Ewings were having a welcome home party at the South Fork ranch for Jock Ewing, but Miss Ellie picked up the phone, in shocked when they told her Jock was killed in a plan crash. 1982 cliffhanger was when Cliff found Kristen in the pool.
you're right about 1979. But '81 was when Cliff found Kirsten in the pool and they all found out about Jock during the middle of season 5, not at the end
The thing about the 1985 cliffhanger:was (to viewers' disgust) it was actually the start of "the dream season." Bobby never got run over at all, and thus Katherine Wentworth didn't kill herself a second later when the car skidded and hit another car. I kept wondering if the new show would bring her back?
Bobby cliffhanger was one of my favorites because when Jr got shot anybody could have done it but with Bobby the question was who would want to kill Bobby cause he was such a good guy?
I remember as a kid this being billed as another Who Shot JR cliffhanger before it happened. Then when Bobby fell out of the chair all hell broke loose in my home, my mother to this day loves Patrick Duffy and was in shock, and me and my brother (we were 11 and 8) couldn't be happier because the man my mom was going to leave my dad for was shot, lol. Little did we know that Katherine was there for him and it wasn't a mistake.
I stand corrected by you all and my cousin, who was a Dallas fanatic back in the day, lol!! I realize now the 1981 cliffhanger on Dallas was when Cliff found Kristin in the pool. Thanks and have a nice day.
1978 mini series..pam lost her baby at the first Ewing BBQ 1978-79 season...John Ross is born 1979-80 season...who shot JR 1980-81 season...who's the body in the pool 1981-82 season...does cliff survive 1982-83 sesaon...who survives the Southfork fire 1983-84 season...Bobby is shot 1984-85 season...Bobby dies 1985-86 season...Bobby returns
You are right about 1979, but wrong on everything else. Jock "died" midway through the 81-82 season. The 1981 cliffhanger was Cliff finding Kristin in the pool. The 1982 cliffhanger was Cliff in the hospital over his attempted suicide. Everything is correct here but the 1979 cliffhanger.
1986-87season...loss of Ewing Oil/does Pam survive the explosion 1986-88 season...Sue Ellen shoots JR 1988-89 season...Sue Ellen leaves Dallas 1989-90 season...JR is put away in a mental hospital 1990-91 season...JR commits suiside?
@MrJuly1990ish Not Quite. The reveal of Jock's death was midway through the 1981 - 1982 season. The body in the pool was May 1981. Jock's death was handled in a Barbeque in January 1982 and cliff's attempted suicide was in May 1982
The First cliff hanger is indeed incorrect as I guessed the last scene at the time. The rest of the season finales are correct order Please see Ultimate Dallas website
If you go back to the original broadcast of the Series Finale from 1991 they show all of the cliffhangers, the 1978 one you talk about was included in that.
I will never understand why this show as popular As it was never received Emmy awards for best drama Best actor ( hagman) & best actress ( gray ) & best Writing the writing was brilliant & brilliant cliffhangers It did win a best supporting actress Emmy for Barbara bel geddes But that all, that why I really hate politics what ever is beloved Is hated by other like the Emmy academy!
It explains why the soap format didn't work well for networks in that regard. Desperate Housewives had one year where they racked up noms. But it was all publicity.
Wow my comment was SO bitchy! But, he still wasn't a loser. That's an oversimplification AND generalization. And he's not even one of my favorite characters!
Dallas best show ever
The king of cliffhangers at 1:14 and the most memorable moment in TV history.
yes I remember the who shot jr. cliff hanger. classic did you know they filmed like 30 different endings for that one so none of the cast members would know who shot him until the last minute. pretty ingenious.

Best dallas cliffhangers ever
Greatest cliffhangers of all time especially the who shot Jr one

So fast that Bobby should have never been able to push her out of the way like that.
Best show ever
I balled my eyes out when Bobby "died"......I still get emotional just watching it.....
what a great show, even if some cliffhanger sounds a little funny, but don't mind...I LOVE "DALLAS" AND ALWAYS WILL LOL

Dallas. was my favorite show
You make a good point! 😂
Ty so much for posting this, many of the clips i nrver seen!, so ty so much, from a Dallas fan to another:-)
I love the fire cliffhanger! JR even has a smoke alarm!
So what does JR do? he runs towards the fire like all sensible cliffhangers demand!

The best cliffhanger by far was in 1985. So much tension and emotion! And Bobby dying!
I was a fan of the Southfork fire, does anybody know where I can find a clip of the next season opener when bobby saves the day?
The thing about the 1985 cliffhanger:was (to viewers' disgust) it was actually the start of "the dream season." Catherine was baaaad to the bone

@@hamma2006I don't get it.

After the fire they got rid of the front door.
Back when you had to be home if you didn't own a ridiculuosly priced Betamax/VCR.
Not to mention they were the size of a coffee table 😂
1978 mini series..pam lost her baby at the first Ewing BBQ
1978-79 season...John Ross is born
1979-80 season...who shot JR
1980-81 season...who's the body in the pool
1981-82 season...does cliff survive
1982-83 sesaon...who survives the Southfork fire
1983-84 season...Bobby is shot
1984-85 season...Bobby dies
1985-86 season...Bobby returns
The burning of the Southfork Ranch was absolutely unrealistic. It was about burning to ashes. In the next episode there were only "smoke damages".
Fires were big in 1983, Dynasty's cliffhanger that year was Crystal and Alexis trapped in a burning Cabin.
hahaha...the fire sure got upstairs in a hurry...under a min.....lol

this was the season premier episode for the 1979-80 season
Thank you for your comments. As this video was edited over 9 years ago, I do not currently have the footage. I will ty to find it. Thanks again.
I think everyone Loved Bobby.
When the shooter thought they were shooting JR and instead it was Bobby who fell from the chair was a shocker.
1986-87season...loss of Ewing Oil/does Pam survive the explosion
1986-88 season...Sue Ellen shoots JR
1988-89 season...Sue Ellen leaves Dallas
1989-90 season...JR is put away in a mental hospital
1990-91 season...JR commits suiside?
Poor Bobby he was part of two cliff hangers 1984 and 85. one he survived the other he didn't.
3 if you count the Shower Scene in 1986
The Dallas cliff hangers1-7are the worst the Dallas cliffhangers8-14were the best

I guess Pam's 1978 cliffhanger didn't count.
the 1978 Mini Series is considered Season 1 so they probably should have included it.
The kidnapping of John Ross wasn't the cliffhanger. SueEllen on life support was the cliffhanger.
This was not the 1979 cliffhanger.
1983 - LOL, Is it me or did JR win the fight?!?!
fighting dirty as usual, lol
This was edited down from the original telecast.
Did someone just jump a shark?
Did they ever find out who shot JR? 🧐🤔🤷♀️🔫

She went to Southfork high on drugs and fell off the balcony into the pool.
