i got a 3l so does my friend theyve been pretty reliable and ours both pushing 400,000, his locked up finally, it liked to use oil, and he let it run dry.
Its Oregon, its where Cedar tree stumps were pulled out to make 3-4 houses worth of wood roof shingles. Washington is about the same just some times bigger. Now they are just wheeling holes or fish habitat or something new on the endangers species list.
That's too deep id personally never submerge my hood like that at the end, to many electrical problems from that, alternator, crank sensors, battery and starter cables etc. But your rig is clean!!! And is that a lexis v8 swap?
An axle off of a 84 or 85 toyota pickup or 4runner will be the best fit. Any you can get a kit from trail-gear but you'll need to do some welding and get your own axle.
Actually have seen that happen and they still drive, guy thought it was lifter tick once in a while and thought the hole in the block was from a stick... Was like dude its only running on 5 cylinders, was a 3vze btw. Still drove it like that for a few weeks before he junked it.
The 4 runner has 22 R. And the Toyota 3.0 are very good motors. Not the best power or fuel mileage but put a cam and headers and intake and bump fuel pressure up with aftermarket feel pressure regulator valve and the 3.0 comes alive. Big time. The baja 1,000 but mostly the 500 was ran with the 3.0 for years and years. Most winning truck with iron man in the 500. The only thing wrong is some of the 3.0 had a recall on the head gaskets. Not a big deal. People finally find one thing bad and slander it to hell. 3.0 is a great little motor. Easy to work on and easy to hop up. My first one died at 320,000 and extremely hard miles lol. Hehehe. And I did not see one time they needed a snorkel. Lol. Wow people.
the 4runner (1st gen) was available with the 22r, which was carborated with iron heads. the 22re, fuel injected with aluminum heads. and the 3.0 which had aluminum heads as well. my 22re gets pretty damn good mileage for a 4wd.
There isn't 1 time that a snorkel is needed in this video but are limited to where they can go because, lack of snorkel. Without a snorkel, these vehicles wouldn't be able to go where I'm able to.
Um, no. The first generation 4-Runner (Hilux Surf for the rest of the world) (1985-1989)were only manufactured in 2 door configurations with a fiberglass top. All subsequent generations were 4 door with steel tops(with the exception of the 1990 to 1992 model years when a small number were 2 door) Very few first gens were imported to Europe so that is probably why you haven't seen any.
You can get it stuck in a river and blow a head gasket at the same time a she'll start right back up and drive home. after you get it out of the river of course ;)
MyAccountBitch um its 4wd, im guessing he was in 2 for some reason but the fronts are spinning on the last attempt when he makes it out and he has front and rear axles, no way its only 2wd
Try to keep the torque and momentum more consistent and you won't dig as much. I know it's hard to do with all the bumping around I just saw a little digging is all.
Had a 97 runner for years... loved every minute! RIP CHODA THE YOTA
Probably the nicest modded 4Runner I've ever seen ... GREAT rig man !!!
Lol what’s so nice about it? It’s beat to hell
Man i respect these old 4runners holding it down... They're tanks... Coming from my experience, my 3rd gen runs strong. Thing is bulletproof.
Dude in the red 4Runner can drive. Great video. Thanks for sharing.

i got a 3l so does my friend theyve been pretty reliable and ours both pushing 400,000, his locked up finally, it liked to use oil, and he let it run dry.
35"s or 38"s? awesome rig bud!
nice 2 c a local wheeler keeping the trails slippery for me :) haha
@chiefy51 not to bad, there is a way around most of the deeper stuff. there is a few that the smaller trucks need pulled or winched out.
Where is the intake on this thing?! Crazy it didn’t suck up water. If it did it didn’t mind haha.
did pretty good you just need to turn you tires more all the way left and all the way right.. thumbs up for toyota

that's real off-roading. cool
shes got some battle scars dude

whoa!
thats really wild.... 👌
What exhaust are you running? Cat or straight?
what kind of axels and what do you need to do the swap my 4runner is still ifs and im looking to sas but should i just go to fullsize or toyota axles?
What wheels are those, look like military bead lock. What axles?
wow that things has some serious balls for a 22r
Nothing better than hydro-locking your engine 👉😎👉
Notsoggytost the intake on first gens is about as close to the hood as you can get, he didn’t get very close

For the USA anyways. In Europe, the 2.4s also game in gas turbo, diesel N/A and turbo diesel 2.4 options.
I really wanna get more power out of my 3.0. Where can I get a good cam?
Know anything I can do to my 3.4L ? I don't really want to superchargbit yet because it's like 5 grand to do it "right".
There isn't 1 time that a snorkel is needed in this video but are limited to where they can go because, lack of snorkel. Without a snorkel, these vehicles wouldn't be able to go where I'm able to.
22r no snorkel?! nice! where are you washington oregon?
Thats a fact my brother threw a rod through the block of his 89 corolla and then drove it home!
what diff is in the rear exactly ? i saw that you said 14 bolt but not which kind
Oregon Love
what type of locker or is it welded?
Um, no. The first generation 4-Runner (Hilux Surf for the rest of the world) (1985-1989)were only manufactured in 2 door configurations with a fiberglass top. All subsequent generations were 4 door with steel tops(with the exception of the 1990 to 1992 model years when a small number were 2 door)

Rolling in the deep...
is the front axle on the 4runner stock???
Lift kit set up?
IFS or SAS? sweet yota man!
@hiedi720 yea ive been thru a few... thats part of wheeling, cant get out by babying it!
Those are some deep holes
hey are 4runners realy realable? or is like a bronco or blazer more realable?
What year is that runner?
What size are those tires?
why do you look so often on the side window? windshiled looks clean..
So do you say your 4Runner is red or brown?
Nice
You can get it stuck in a river and blow a head gasket at the same time a she'll start right back up and drive home. after you get it out of the river of course ;)
Where is this at? "State / city?"
did i hear "Girl's just want to have fun" in the back ground lol
Lockers.............and then a snorkel.....................
definitely needs a locker
1988 crawl control
ever have problems flooding out on angles?
You got lockers on your yota rig? Nice battle scars.
God damnit i wish i hadn't sold my 4runner. I had an 85 SR5. That thing was a beast even stock
what wheels are those?
The spinning digs your grave. I know how the "heart up in the throat" feeling makes one wanna add more accelleration, but it's not the way....
$.01
is it a stock v6 in it..?
@blakasassin1 put it this way.. you can throw a rod thru the block and it will still drive!
@MBCamaro95 the callahans just west of Roseburg, Oregon.
What mud flaps??
what lift does it have
You're not kidding haha
looks like Oregon to me
ya'll need snorkels.
engine sounds funny
Let some air out.
no way-sounds like a Lexus V8
ahh my older brother
Do u have an exhaust on that if so what do u have
lol wasa the jeep open or posi front
4:45 MONEY SHOT LOL
2wd jeep? why?
MyAccountBitch um its 4wd, im guessing he was in 2 for some reason but the fronts are spinning on the last attempt when he makes it out and he has front and rear axles, no way its only 2wd
MyAccountBitch he was "rooting out the hole" making it deeper by digging. Make it where the next guy gets stuck.
MyAccountBitch to see if you can get through it in 2wheel drive to see what you're truck can do.i do it all the time
Solid axle off a hilux pickup will fit
They are great on gas for a truck/suv. Just don't get the junk 3.0L (also known as the 3.slow).
Try to keep the torque and momentum more consistent and you won't dig as much. I know it's hard to do with all the bumping around I just saw a little digging is all.
O WHAT A FEELING
Опасно так без шноркеля
NC?
How you like those iroks now... lol < LTB
Check out how capable my 2015 SR5 4runner is at off roading = "2015 Toyota 4runner at widowmaker". Enjoy..
