- God of War 3 and Ascension can be played on PC through RPCS3. They require more settings tweak than normal to reach a decent performance and this is what i'll show you in this video, along with the full RPCS3 installation setup as usual this video will cover everything so you can play God of War 3 on your PC too.

Hey, I've been trying to get GOW 3 to boot up and I followed your steps for it, but every time I try to open it, it gets stuck on building the SPU cache and closes right when it's supposed to finish. Is there any way to get around this?
tysm for the configs I am able to play smoothly now. Btw there is a weird texture flickering issue sometimes when running to new locations. Is there any solution to it?
Aparently if you disable Asychronous Texture Streaming it stops

Change the download location
when i upscale to 1080 i get white lines and glitches everywhere
and if i set the default resolution to 1080p it still says on the resolution scale "100% (720p)" but i dont want to upscale
Did you enable the 'Disable MLAA' patch? Upscaling won't work properly if you don't

Hi Igor, i was able to download the game and extract exactly how you said, I also made sure to update the game and set the graphics and the controller input. However, whenever I boot the game, it loads like normal until I start to load the spu cache. then it just closes the game and returns back to rcps3 main screen. any ideas?
Could be a corrupted game file, if that's the case you've gotta to dump the game again or grab it from a different source

Most of the time it's caused by a corrupted game file, you can join the RPCS3 Discord and ask for help there

When you click on manage game patches did you click on yes to download the latest patches?

The iso file which I have installed is of version 01.12 and I'm unable to install it 1.04 so give me a solution
If the iso already comes patched there's nothing to be done, you need a unpatched game. Or you can try playing anyway but there might be some glitches

I did everything as said but i get like 10 fps and cpu usage is at 100%. I dont know if my cpu (i3-9100f) is too weak or there is some other settings to solve that
Yeah that CPU is 4 cores and 8 threads, which is below the minimum specs (4 cores / 8 threads)

mine just crashes, when i install firmware it just loads for like 2 seconds and then crashes and closes

@@Igor.L I just figured it out so sorry, I had too many processors running for RPCS3 about 24 cpu's had to go into task manager and unselect a few and it started to download the firmware so far so good but if anything comes up I'll comeback here, thanks for replying most don't you got my sub

Hello, I have a problem that the emulator does not recognize the iso, would you know what it can be?
It can't run games in iso format, you have to extract the iso: right click -> extract to god of war 3
then you'll have a folder with the game files
@@Igor.L when i extract the rar file, it is extracted in iso format. do i have to download it from another page, or do i open the iso and move everything inside it to a folder? sorry to bother you.

@@alejoortega4003 yes opening the iso works too, the files inside are what rpcs3 needs to run the game. Put them in a folder and that's it

Its going upto 50 fps in cutscenes but when in combat it still stutters and its fps drops to 20 fps what should i do?

Sorry for late reply. I have laptop and it has ryzen 5 5600h and rx 6500m 4gb graphics card I think it's enough to run ps3 games right? And 8 gb ram
why doesn't it make any view? (no offense) Just can someone help me, I have an RX 6800 XT Nitro plus, but in game, the graphics are weird, as if the shaders were separated from the 3D, as I see the shadow of Kratos shifted from his body, I see limit through it. And it does the same to me for the sets. Any idea?
What's you CPU? GPU doesn't matter as much as CPU in emulation
@@Igor.L Hello, thank you for your very quick answer, I have a Ryzen 9 5900X with 24 cores. Also something may be that will be able to track you on the problem, is that I decided to install the game with files . PKG, indeed I put in the same folder 8 file . PKG, and wanting to add a package, I selected the 8 at the same time, which allowed me to install the game without any poblem (on 8 .PKG, there was only 2 .RAP file) Otherwise when I launch the game, I see in red some errors on the console, Maybe I can tell you.
@@Jojodu06 Hm i didn't know there was a .pkg for God of War 3, that might be the problem - the emulator isn't reading the game correctly. Try grabbing the game as .iso and do extraction like i show in the video, your specs are really good so your PC isn't the problem here.
@@Igor.L Again, just to clarify, this is God of War Ascension, and i did instal the . PKGs because I had seen a tutorial on youtube, or the person downloaded the games like that (and they worked). Ducoup, I downloaded the ISO file (.zip), then suprimed the other files. When he launched RPCS3, he recognized the game, and redone his SPU download process or something, but it didn’t change the problem, worse, now Kratos has a pixelated head. So I think there is a problem with the setting, otherwise I am a dark fool.

Try increasing the driver wake up, i think it's on the advanced options. Incerase it by 50 and see it stops, if not keep increasing
@@Igor.L i fixed it by just disabling all the ingame patches, they seem to break the game for me

Ok i would recommend re-installing the emulator, delete the emulator folder and do it again
Don't forget to move the game files out from it

I have a r7 5800h (laptop 3060 rtx) and actually just set it up on the 2.00 version. I did the configurations and patches suggested on the rpcs3 compatibility website and it worked from the intro to part where the leviathan shows up on gaia then crashed. I adjusted some other settings and then it ran fine (I didn't put the fps counter but I'll just a little under 60fps, definitely more than 45). I'm going to try the disabled fog, and disabled color grading and see.
Update r7 5800h running smooth with rpcs3 site patches and configuration plus the disabled fog and color shading. Just killed Poseidon. V2.00 60fps lock.

@@Igor.L Thank you ,i follow other tutorials and can't say i am lucky but it runs with a little lag , but when reaching in GOW assension second cutscean because of the fps at where kratos fell down by breaking a roufe seeling then the camera movie wouldn't began ,there i can reach , and your this video tutorial sec i goes through it also not workable.Useless for me man.

That issue could by many different things but one fix that worked for some people is removing the custom config: right click the game -> remove -> remove custom configuration

I found a solution but I got another problem
i updated the game from 1.04 to 1.12 and cleared the save and all the cache the game from the beginning until I reached the queen, I did not get any freezes but i get freeze after i kill the queen Specifically, shortly after taking her necklace :")
