NICE JOB PAUL!!!
Who's this Paul fellow!! 🤣 Love you @pldaniels 🙃 check him out peeps!!
Paul Daniels is a legend who shows up in livestream chats to diagnose boards
I lurk a lot, looking for the right time to inflict disruption ;)
Paul Daniels magician 😂😂😂😂
Applause for Paul Daniels 👏👏👏👏👏👏. Well done mate.
A fuse in my brain blew when you said you wished you was smarter making me feel a chimp as I was confused from start to finish but found it incredibly interesting 😅
You can't have a round of applause for Paul Daniels without mentioning his lovely assistant Debbie
Just don't tell my wife!
Epic repair on the last one and thank goodness for Paul Daniels on that livestream! He was a genius!
Nice!!!!!!
Paul deserves a shoutout!
Well done both!
Community comes through again! Awesome work everyone quite the roller coaster.
There's no community better!
That was a great fix and Paul Daniels just like the cod3r is a legend. Great job joe
WHAT A LEGEND YOU ARE PAUL DANIELS!!!
Paul Daniels
I just wrote a comment about being more determined to find the fix and you follow up with this insanely satisfying video! Amazing job and amazing consult from Paul Daniels! 💪💪
Don't put yourself down so much. You're a competent fella and your skills are improving every video. Keep up the good work 👍
Paul Daniels doing his magic again.
Well done Joey!.... and Paul Daniels!!
Well done Joey! It is always great to see the community come together to fix problems. Thanks for this great series...I've had a blast following it
Paul Daniel the Great!
What an awesome fix well done to Paul and your community proving their worth once again. What an absolute result that Switch was too. Love it. Really enjoying this series Joey
Joey- Idea for an April Fools prank. Save the simplest repair you have ever found and upload an episode of Profit Or Loss with just that fix. Then on April 2nd post an actual video, and tell us that it was an April Fools joke.
To be fair this repair couldn't have been any easier
People will see the video is only 1m long …
The "fool" would be "I spent 1000 pounds on this Nintendo switch" . Then show something that has been run over by a truck, then mark it as a loss in the spreadsheet.
Shooooooo, won't lie, I was feeling really nervous and crossing fingers for that ps5 working. Really nice to see you get such support and success alongside the community and even sharing that knowledge and experience to help others in the electronics repair industry. Nice!
Paul Daniel's better be VIP in that chat for that
Thanks to all of the chat for helping Joey on his journey. I bet he will remember all of this next time the problem arises, now that is how you learn. Congrats!
Our repair god paul daniels
Great Community! Mr. Daniels for the Win! Great Repairs and Video JDT! Thank You.
You owe Paul a beer I reckon!
W paul daniels
I always watch these the morning they come out with my cup of coffee. Waiting for him to get past his 1000£ goal haha
This one was so enjoyable! Even masters can learn sometimes, great work!
Pretty stoked to c that ps5 come back to life. Well done Joey and Paul Daniel’s
Congrates Joey, doing good and with community help through live stream
Quickest fix in history! Well done mate!
Hi mate. Love the videos. What’s the best way into learning about fixing motherboards and soldering etc? Is there a course you can do?
Thanks
Genius Paul Daniels 🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷🇧🇷
Great video Joey!
Well done with the ps5 repair 😊
They are mosfets, if you don't short them first your readings can vary depending on it's state.

Spoiler Saver
What a nice episode. First one was really lucky and the second one was really challenging but you mastered it! Sith a little help but you did, so more for your knowledge. Thanak you for the good entertainment.
It would be nice to see you try different devices
There are others on my channel if you dig enough :)
perhaps using a stiff (tooth?) brush for cleaning that foam could help?
Just a thought from watching your previous videos, should you not try and boot into safe mode first before taking it apart?
you need to change that mosfet that fuse was conected to
i m so happy you fixed it 👏
What headset is that? BTW loving your videos
We can all always learn something new, knowledge can be learnt to ur life ends
Congrats. Nice fix. :)
Thank you Steto :) Hope you're well.
inject voltage (about 1 to 2 volts ... with 2,3 amps) at the short and watch with thermal camera to find the shorted component, the shorted components gets hot ... if not raise the current little by little till the faulty component shows itself. it's so easy...
Not a good idea around the APU
I don't think I'd consider it as "so easy" as you risk damaging other components injecting voltage at such low resistance as far as I'm aware. As always, I could be wrong :)
I though if you set the voltage below the max V of the component (around 1,3-1,5V for APU) there is no risk at damaging because the APU can easily take a lot of current..
@@muhkuh5804 it comes down to what else could be potentially on the circuit. Classic sort of example is people putting (trying to) many-volts in to a PPBUS of a Macbook trying to find a short only to end up destroying the CPU/GPU because the highside CPU VREG MOSFET was shorted resulting in the full many-volts going in to a device that only wants ~1V.
Certainly preferrable to try deduce by more passive testing, and if injection required I like to start at 0v5 and 1A at most, maybe going up to 1V 2A depending on what I'm dealing with ( to be fair, if it's shorted then your DCPSU shouldn't be showing more than 0.3~0.5V in most cases before the current limit kicks in )
@@pldaniels thanks for the detailed description Paul, that's really helpful 👍
Paul Fn Daniels to the rescue
Rossmann fan spotted!
The one and only!
Great channel Joey. Now subscribed
Thank you, welcome!
PLD the Australian magician.
Because I'm so dumb but curious, would it be possible to get an explanation to what the MOSFET is meant to do in future fixes?
Hey @JoeyDoesTech nice vid, as always I am very impressed by your dedication to knowledge and work!! I just thought: have you made a spreadsheet with the different kind of repairs by models that you have made so far? Relating each solution you found to the video of the series so that if another pro or even just a tinker sometimes ask you "hey how do you do that fix ..." you could just send him straight to the video where you already did the work and found the solution! You now have quite the series so I think it would defo be useful no?
I cannot believe that person didn't check brightness settings before selling the nintendo switch as faulty. I really hope they did not see this video and truly believe it to be faulty to this day.
Video live fantastic stuff always a great notification to get
Do you know the old school freeze spray trick for finding the issue?
i saw that stream! ❤
I feel bad for the person who returned that Nintendo Switch.
do you need to push so hard when measuring voltages? surely just resting enough for contact should be enough, im not an eletrical engineer but it just looks rough with the marks left behind after you measure things.
Great question, sometimes a little bit of a push is needed due to the factory flux surrounding the IC, otherwise you don't get the connection :)
come on only 27400 more before 100K
Ahhhh SO CLOSE!
You'd be amazed at how many original Gameboys I buy with a "blank" screen and all I do is adjust the contrast wheel.
What is that blue paste? I hear Viscous Paste but I don't know if that's right. Is it a thermal spreader in paste form?
nintendo, ps5. fix something else. love the vids
I'm so glad I've never bought a PS5 or the new XBox!! MY Ps4 is doing just Fine! I'll wait for the new Nintendo:)
The twitch viewer coming in clutch
Inject vishe voltage
It's always Paul! Get yourself a channel 👍🏻

I'm ready and waiting ;)
His channel is here: www.youtube.com/@pldaniels :)
Are you going to try that same fix on the other PS5 you got an 8005000 error?
Come on Joey, you’ve got this.
Paul Daniel’s really is magic.😂
Joey, I cant remember if you sold the last PS5 that had that problem but would it be possible to go back to it and try the same thing? You might get yourself another sale.
How you know when you should try to input low voltage to see possible short circuit with thermal camera? Why this technique wasn't used there? Thanks for answer
generally you want to use a thermal camera to find what's the component that heats (instead of doing what it's supposed to).
it doesn't work in this case as the fuse is opening, which means no current is flowing through the circuit, and no component produces any heating.
What about scratching the board when removing the paste?
Why did Nintendo give you the option to turn the screen down all the way to can't see shit anyway?
You can if it's pitch black and you're playing at night.
I knew I recognised that PS5, I helped too. I think.
I donut believe it either... 1:10
Hey you said you had another with the same problem. Why not try to fix the same way? Todd from portland.
will you post that first switch as refurbished? you didn't exactly refurbish it lol probably could just say used
That's the first time I thought, 'I could have fixed that one'.
Haha nice! :)
You should pay paul some money 😊
It's all good - I received my due rewards for this one. Over time I'll definitely pick up a more subs because of Joey giving me a great shout-out
Nice! Did you sold the ps5? I want to buy one.
Poor dude who sold it. Do you not feel bad that hes essentially given away a working console?
It was a business seller with over 10,000 items sold on eBay, however I did reach out and inform the company that if they had these in the future, they could just increase the brightness.
Is there anything Paul Daniels can't diagnose?
Jeeeze didn't even get myself comfy and in my sloth position and you already got a fix done haha poor seller watching this video 😅 u win some you lose some
This has turned into Nintendo Switch quick fixes channel 🤣
Ever thought about fixing some PS5 controllers with stick drift?
102 ? 😮
i wish you would use plastic instead of metal tweezers as you are poking around, scratching everything! lol
Not plastic lol, that would be melted in a sec, Better use the ceramic one to be safe
@@nyanisnothot4176 look up heat resistant plastic tweezers, either way, i dont prod like that when the heat gun is on, only when I am looking for issues you can see.
First time in all episodes that you fixed a console before even calling for your sponsor , so the record for the quickest fix is set to 6 secondes ?
I like your videos😊
But I don’t like the fact that you’re making like gambling related thing… It is the same like I would make videos about me going to gamble to a casino 🎰 🎲🎲 ♥️♣️♦️ ♠️
Joey gonna purposely fail in the next video
Nice
Duuude, what happend to your eyes? 😮
I was very tired taking the thumbnail 😂
Yay
Joey are you a witch? It’s currently thundering and lightning
Oi
Wow
It was all because of the solder in the via! 🤣
Agreed ahah!
Please stop with the 3-2-1. Just turn it on! Really annoying to me. other than that, keep up the good work.
Day 3 of asking Joey for his fluke multimeter
Pls do something not Nintendo i like watching your videos but i got enough from the Nintendo switch do something else
Every capacitor counts
Just stop working on PS5s. Biggest piece of junk console ever made. Sony screws their customers these days. my og Xbox one and my series x are still going strong never had a single issue, even my Xbox 360 has never had an issue. And same with my PS4, no issues. All i hear about with ps5s are issue after issue after issue... and more than half the time they are unfixable
I guess you didnt hear about the xbox360 red ring of death issues? Many broken consoles
@@alexharding7307 yeah I do actually know that. I'm not stupid. I never bought an og white 360. I had an S and an E and never had issues. Never had issues with any console I've ever owned. PS5s are hot garbage
