I can feel through the screen how stiff the ride is. Your voice is litterally shivering from the bumps. This might be the reason for me to no opt for this car. I'm in love with it though. Looking at this 2014 Edition One, white with black details. Man it looks good... But this firm ride will make me go Golf 7.5R i guess 😢
They soften the ride each year. I believe mine was a 2015.
@@GlennsCarCollection I tested a 2014 today, it was much better than I expected, pretty confortable actually, and I'm 6'4. Recaro seats.
Thanks for the review. I have a 2018 GLA45 AMG arriving in October. I ordered the car with the adjustable suspension and front diff. I am hoping the car is not too stiff. I did order with the standard 19" wheels instead of the 20" so hopefully that helps with the ride comfort.
you should be fine with the 19's. I have those as well. I thought the 20's were stiff. The 16-18 model years have a slightly softer suspension to begin with. You will love it, enjoy! and thank you for subscribing to my channel. More GLA 45 videos to come

You failed to mention that small gas tank with a engine over 300hp.... otherwise excellent review. On second thought you did state the size of the tank, but not your average mileage range.

Yes, the AMG version is more sport than luxury.
Just picked up mine. All black with red accent. I've never seen one before, and I'm wondering. How many are even in the United States?
Congrats! I am sure the production numbers are low. Lots of GLA 250 but its a rare site for the 45 AMG. I have only seen two others besides mine and one is my friend who bought due to my recommendation
I just bought a 2016 build in Australia with all the extra's for US$28,000 @ 29,000 miles and it is AMAZING!!!!! The devaluation on these is crazy. They would be terrible to purchase brand new.@@GlennsCarCollection
Thanks for the GLA update. I've been looking around my area (FL) and have noticed many 2015s and some 2016s popping up between 40-45k. Does yours have push button start?
yes, my does. I believe you can add it afterwards. The push button start is just the plastic start button snapped into the key fob hole.

Mourning the passing of manual transmissions. Yes they are faster but they involve you in the driving experience. As you mentioned this car would be even better with a six speed. Good review, thanks

So how is the gas is it greedy or normal
It depends how you drive it. If you like to be in the boost then its a little greedy but overall gas mileage was much better than expected.

I do not have squeaky brakes, perhaps its the brake pads

yes, but it was never sold in the U.S.

No, I sold it. see my 18 month review. Great car but I agree, get a warranty. Buy from a Mercedes dealer CPO if possible. Its a great car
Glen! I think I have your exact car now in NJ! It’s 2023, I purchased it late last year. I had to change the vent line and coolant housing which set me back 4000 but since then everything is super. Thanks for the review.
Do you like m2 better how is m2 in the rain or snow
As a sports car I like the M2 better but the GLA 45 has the M2 beat in rain or snow due to the all wheel drive. The GLA 45 is great in all kinds of weather, so much grip. Thanks for watching and subscribing to my channel
What is that engine upgrade you was talking about, I tried to ask my Mercedes dealer about that and nobody seemed to know about it.
Same engine different tune. Here in the U.S. it had 355 hp in model year 2015, 375 in model year 2016

great review as always! it's been a long time since your last gla one.
I think the car (2017 model ) is butter smooth in comfort mode. my little child only likes me driving it in that mode ! no sport plus mode allowed !
sadly after a year and a quarter I'll be swapping this amazing car over for a c63s. I'll miss the GLA 45. great car. in fact I'll.ssy it's a fantastic car in every way except it isn't a V8.
agree that adaptive dampers are really useful.
for comfort I'll probably suggest skipping the recaro seats.
In terms of stiffness in comfort mode it seems really fine to me but bounces around quite a lot. I think one thing to note is that it has a raised ride height and needs to be stuff as otherwise body roll would be a major issue like it is in some sport audis. .

The c63s will be built and delivered hopefully in January. it is a station wagon , not really a good looking car like the coupe or sedan at all but I needed the extra space. so I can still play around with my gla till then. I have a feeling I'll be doing a lot of race starts and four wheel drifts !
You're right, dealers reached out to me for the McLaren 720s and Lamborghini Huracan reviews, a dealer has offered me the new NSX so look for a video on that in October

Nothing, It is the option Mercedes sport exhaust and it is a must have options. Check out my newer reviews on the GLA 45. The 18 month ownership review was posted a few months ago. Thanks for watching and subscribing

Would you purchase gla 45 amg from a Mercedes-Benz dealer that bought it at PA auction and then certified it for resale?
Yes definitely. Dealer get cars from auctions all the time. If it passes Mercedes criteria for certification, then its a good car. You could also buy mine, it will be for sale soon.

asking $39k. I will have to check, but I believe the warranty runs out spring of 2019. The car is very reliable, I've never had any problems.

What exhaust is on that?
The AMG optional sport exhaust. it only cost $500 if ordered when the car is built and it sounds amazing. Worth every penny.
