For many years I have been obsessed with Danish food and have tasted my way through the country several times. Danish food will always have a big place in my heart. But a new obsession has awakened, British food. The bad reputation English food has received internationally is based on the post-war years and has little to do with what British food is able to offer. There are so many good ingredients and my tongue has started a new journey and that is to eat my way through this beautiful island in Northern Europe.
So far i agree with the choice, the millefeille was a bit soggy looking and rather thick, and vanilla, isnt a screaming reach. Wonder if the dragon bread was a lil over baked and was delicate enough. we will see :)
I wonder that the vegan bakery doesn't use almond milk in the brownie. I did like that they used cocoa powder. Perhaps if they bloomed the cocoa, it would provide a deeper chocolate flavour
Did you see the episode where the required bake was A Portuguese Custard tarte? This episode confirmed for me that the female judge is predisposed to not approving of what the vegan bakeries are attempting to do. I think there should be a competition for vegan bakeries only. Sigh ...
The Welsh fellows seemed lovely. I really enjoyed their vigour and would love to try their peppery dragon bread. Their tropical pie seemed quite creative to me. Perhaps the execution on the one they presented for judging wasn't as well put together as the practice version.
Mitch is so pleasant in this season. Both the judges always try to find something positive to say about the bakes, even when they also have to share criticism. I've seen another season of this show where Mitch behaved as if no one and nothing was half up to par. She seemed hell bent on finding fault everywhere. I wonder if she changed or if the producers decided nasty was better for ratings. I saw that season first and didn't like Mitch at all, then I see this and she's completely different
Love this series

Is that a picture of one of the contestants from the great British bake off on the wall at around 36mins?
