I've been busy and haven't had time to keep up on all your podcasts, but I wanna tell you that I lived in NYC during the 90s and the Knicks were a bad ass team!! Van Gundy's Knicks were tough in a league that was dominated by the Jordan Bulls. Defensively the Knicks, with Charles Oakley and Patrick Ewing were formidable! I love that Van Gundy will be in our locker room. Overqualified indeed!

Some encouraging things so far, Jeff is the common sense coach we needed. We also been scouting rim protector like Koloko & Kai Jones seems to be the guy for the 4/5, as long as we have double rim protection because then we can play dudes like Bones, whereas we couldn't do shit defensively with Plumlee or undersized DT at center so that gives us more flexibility. Need to get back to our defense & common sense to have a shot at winning.

One thing I was fully reminded of, because I can get caught in the moment, is the NBA is not transitive property (i.e. a > b > c so a > c). It is rock paper scissors. Matchups make fights.
I honestly believe a healthy Clippers team could have won. If you think about why the Mavs were so bad against the Celtics and why they couldn't score, you'll realize those are the reasons why the Clippers would have given Boston trouble.
The Mavs struggled against teams that switched because, outside of Luka and Kyrie, no one else is giving them problems in iso. This slowed their offense down. The Clippers on the other hand can go to Zu in the paint, they have scorer up and down the lineup, and they would have made Boston pay for leaving Tman or Norm open. Then defensively, Boston plays their worst when they iso and don't drive and kick similar to the Clippers. Clippers switching defense would have Boston playing into their worst tendencies.
Clippers for sure need to get more athletic so they can be versatile. Versatility and luck is going to rule the day in the NBA because you need to be able to adapt to the different teams in the West but also get lucky and not match with your worst matchup. The toughest matchup for the Clips would have been Minnesota which is also why Minnesota would have given Boston way more trouble.

Get rid of Paul George. We had four stars, one went down, and now we have three-star players to two-star players in Dallas. if PG can't hold his own without a fourth star player, why do we need him?

      U know what?
PG has been flirting with Emblid of late to create an impression that the sixers will give him the max. But unfortunately, lots of sixers fan on sixer UA-camrs chan express deep reservations in giving partime P a max contract till he’s 38.
I sincerely hope the sixers do us a favour in saving the clippers by taking the toxic elephant in our room. Only then will the clippers from coming back to dignity.

Also lue was part of the mcgrady trade to Houston from Orlando for Cuttino mobley. Francis and Caito

I think the last two champions more or less favor a version of small ball and quite possibly five of the last six, depending on how you choose to view it.
I know Jokic is a big and both Portzingis and Horford are bigs, but all 3 are bigs that space the floor....those are both small ball concepts.
The Celtics didn't win it all when they had Robert Williams in the middle.
The Lakers played their best in 2019/2020 with a small ball lineup(AD at the 5) at critical times in the game, D How and McGee were riding the bench. One of the Morris brothers played PF, AD was at the 5(and spacing the floor a lot)
The Warriors won with Looney at the 5 in 2021/2022, which is sort of a small ball attack(even though Looney can't space the floor)
The Raptors won with a combination of Gasol/Ibaka, so they were more of a spacing big type team in 2018/2019
I think Milw fits more of the bill of having two bigs at critical times and winning a title with it in 2020/2021.
So yea, the big is definitely making a comeback but mostly as spacing bigs....
I think if you are going to try to feature a big inside, that big needs to be really really good(ala AD or Bam)
I'm not sure you can feature a big like Big Zu but i could be wrong....he's definitely more talented inside than say a Kevon Looney, so i definitely believe you can win a championship with him but i don't believe he should be featured.....

  • @boriskan6453
    @boriskan6453 5 місяців тому +3

Put it simply, JVG is essentially the balancing force to offset all the weird tactics by Ty Lue. Do recall he kept playing his dumb small ball lineup with a 6”4 Rust at 5 who can’t shoot against the likes of wolves and mavs, making gobert and lively (neither can’t shoot) look like Shaq and Tim Duncan. That’s because all they need to do is stay in the paint and let Rust go wherever he wants as he can’t score 2 feet away from the basket. This also takes away all the drives by KL and PG, forcing them to take outside shots.
This is the first step to rectify the team. And when we see them letting choker P go (even for free) and waiving Rust, that’s where things will start turnaround from the bottom.
For those who are still worried about giving up a no. 1-5 pick to OKC because we won’t get good reg season results without Pg KL Harden, well, we’ve already given up an all nba first teamer (SGA) and an all rookie first teamer (J Will) in the PG trade. That already matches the glorious achievement by Billy King with the Nets (giving up two no. 3 picks which turn out to be JT and JB). So we won’t change the conclusion that Ballmer and J West got completely screwed on the trade … and ballmer and L Frank will just make more dumb moves in the future. So it’s better to cut losses now so that BJB and Bones get more deserved minutes to improve.

Hopefully he brings his brutal honesty and tells the front office you’re not going to win with two “stars” that are always hurt or disappear in the biggest moments. I like the guy but still wish the clippers were going in a new direction with a new GM new young upcoming coach and new young exciting players from trading kawhi PG harden etc

Facts, it's about youth. Young teams are winning the championships. Twolves, Nuggets, Mavs, and Thunder are huge threats in the west, and then there's the celtics. All of those teams are younger.

    • @gooseallie4417

If the front office doesn’t realize that idk what to say. It’s my main reason they should get a new GM. Why are we rumored for Lowry or CP3 🤦🏻‍♂️ two old players. The top teams are young athletic fast and can defend. Need to go that route not this current system

Oh and my guy, it may be a landing spot for CERTAIN kinds of FA but not that big names. Harden is past his prime and couldn’t get to Lakers so he chose Clippers. What other big name free agent has walked over there? You are a fool if you think just because the lakers have drama (as they always have since there existence including Kobe and Shaq drama) that Clippers are premiere franchise with an aging injured roster and no draft picks and PG could walk. You rarely here about Clippers in media whilst you hear about Lakers everyday and everywhere. When Clippers play on the road is the HOME TEAM FANS cheering for them??? Lol nope it’s quiet when they score. Yes you have a super billionaire owner who doesn’t know much about basketball but willing to spend spend spend. And what has that got you? 😂. When clippers get coverage everyday and get cheers on the road louder than the home team in some instances then you will know Clippers have something on the Lakers. It’s a Clipper video and you are mentioning Lakers randomly for no reason. That in itself speaks volumes.
