Probably one of the most under appreciated movies of all time. I would have given it to Star Trek, but that movie was critically acclaimed.
What? Star Trek was received incredibly well by both critics and audiences. Plus considering it was the first film in a long time from a completely dead franchise it made quite a bit of money too. Plus got an arguably even more successful sequel. Unappreciated? I don't think so.

One of the most awe-inspiring tracks I have ever heard, and I love my soundtracks. Zimmer continues to come out with the greatest music of our time, we are lucky to live in a time with him at his peak. Now I can't wait for his Dawn of Justice soundtrack to come out (and he's collaborating together with Junkie XL on that one, another awesome composer).

@@qzb6823 Yeah, fair point. I think the main reason why Dawn of Justice failed for so many people is because it’s just not natural. Zack Snyder was going to make a solo Batman film and then have the two logically meet. Warner Bros just wanted to copy the success of the MCU’s Civil War with their properties and forced Zack to make Dawn of Justice just so the characters could fight.

This is by far my favorite superhero movie always. No other DC and Marvel movie is better than this movie. Yes it has flaws, but that's why i love it, because it reminds me that i do have flaws too. This movie gives you more than just fight and action, there's a lesson behind. That you can inspire others, have an ideal of hope, you know people will fall sometimes, and stumble, but in time they will join you in the sun.

kills Zod. I mean seriously, I don't think they realize that Zod didn't give him a choice. Either let Zod murder this innocent family, who has done nothing wrong, or kill Zod, who has already killed thousands of people, including Kal's father. But still, even that, it's not like Superman immediately kills Zod. He pleads and begs the guy not to kill the people, and he just replies "never." Plus, this soundtrack too, goes with one of the greatest scenes in the movie, when he first flies. It's not that dark, it's actually inspiring and amazing, and it also looks beautiful. I'm pretty sure I've watched that scene alone 20 times.

When thinking about Superman, I often find myself focusing on the 'super' but this song really made me feel for the 'man' wearing the cape. To me it described the humanness of him, even though he's technically not a human. Powerful but at the same time vulnerable. I realise that it's kind of ironic to say that given that this song is used in the scene where he's testing out his superpowers but that's just how the song made me feel.

Best part of the movie in my opinion, very inspirational. Superman's first flight is always a powerful scene that elicits an applause. What made this one powerful is that he had to push himself to fly, with Jor-El telling him to keep testing his limits. This music captured the emotion and hope of this scene perfectly.
This song is proof that Henry Cavill's version of Superman is not too dark!

And people say this movie didn't have a memorable soundtrack, this is one of my favourite Soundtrack pieces of all time.
I honestly don't know how this movie was as divisive as it was, about 50% positive, 50% negative, yet critics rated Superman Returns more positively, despite it being a far inferior and far more boring film.
I loved the movie, it wasn't perfect, but I felt like it was the definitive depiction of Superman outside of the comics so far, with the possible exception of the DCAU.
Because people are just refusing to embrace a new direction for the typically cheesy, lift the whole world with his pinkie finger, Superman.

Brandon Hargis i'm gonna be nice cuz this annoyed me. its from the ORIGINAL superman, not that abomination of a movie "returns." its not you, you just dont know, i just HATE HATE HATE that movie. Returns was bryan singer's love song to the original film that he pretty much ripped off the whole original movie rather than make his own original one. his film was even supposed to be a sequel to the original two films. hence the same theme, same Jor-El actor Marlon Brando (for the first ever post-humous performance of its kind). Anyways. The line was written my Mario Puzzo, brilliant writer of the Godfather movies. not those hacks that wrote superman returns.

+Richard Authemeb Reeve was an *entirely* different Superman, for an *entirely* different type of movie. Superman I + II, (III and IV were just a bad dream), were more "comic book" than serious... Reeve was perfect for that Superman. For "Man of Steel", a more "realistic" Superman, Christopher Reeve would have been horrible and unbelievable. Henry Cavill is a good actor, (maybe not the best actor ever), and he managed to do a great job with capturing what Superman would be like if he was a real person, and that is all he needed to do...

Hans Zimmer is amazing, but he is my 2nd favorite orchestra person, John Williams is still my favorite, but this music is just pure awesome and inspiring, especially when your writing a short film about Aquaman(who is awesome).

I can imagine a scene in Justice League - The League are up against the main villain, getting there arses kicked...then all stand together. The music at 1:30 starts playing. All of sudden, they hear a load 'sonic barrier breaker' - Batman turns around and the rest of the League follow. They see a man with long hair and a beard with a black suit with the 'S' symbol on it. It's Superman.

The original is and always will be the iconic superman theme, but this is a different take on superman and i think this theme is great for this version of the character.
+PinDiChing this is actually great for all versions of superman. The john Williams version only represents the happy side of superman but this represents the hope, struggle, fear, anger, sadness and happiness
What I love about this Man of Steel Soundtrack is that it sounds radically different from John Williams' Superman Theme. So at least the 2 sounds are very distinct. It would have been easy to make a Williams' type Score for MoS but Zimmer didn't, and he had a different approach to it, which is like more cultural, at the same time given this country type of vibe to it so it felt more urbanised. However, nothing can beat the Williams Superman Theme!
When you look at it objectively, William's theme is the only memorable thing about the old movies.

whenever I become angry, whenever I want to give up my dreams, whenever I feel week and cant go forward anymore I remember the epic quotes from this movie: "You will give them an ideal to strive towards...You will help them to accomplish wonders..." Kal`s help was not saving from destruction, epic flying etc, he was the one who can manage his anger (even as a teenager) throughout hardship and pain , he is more thinker than doer, his respect to mankind far more than humans was the best part of this movie and that was his real help to audience. Thats why I love this movie, it is beyond just a simple CGI my friend, it delivers far more moral messages to mankind than action and explosions...

***** A harsh but real look at the character superman. I think they were setting this up for the S vs. B film thats coming up and in that one Superman will struggle with overcoming the murder of Zod and ultimately thats why he can't kill batman.

Man, I get all teary eyed any time Supes takes flight for the first time, but this version just takes the cake. This really shows how super and amazing he really is. So much power, whose limits only grant him more strength.

the dark knight and the man of steel has removed the "gay and childish" aspect of DC super heros and given them a beyond god like dark background. thats what we fan boys have waited for all these years.
Too bad aquaman still looks weak in comparison to other heroes. A flash movie would still be hard to make for a plot. And we saw how green lantern went. This is why I think a justice league film will be unlikely

In the videogame. but keep in mind that in a video game things can happen that cant happen in a movie. Case in point the Kingdom Hearts series. In a video game its awesome. But on the big screen, it woundn't work. Same thing with Aquaman. How would such a plot work? Who would the villain be and how it be seem serious and plausible instead of campy and stupid? These issues plague the flash as well, not because the flash sucks but because what would be a plausible villain.
