I was just attempting the same thing today in 2024 😂 I tried hand stitching saddle stitch and it was not as nice on canvas compared to leather But machine stitching was much better So I’m going to stick with machine for the canvas
I want to do this but with some old trousers I had. Lovely tan colour with an unfortunate hole, but my folks donated them instead. Can't say I'm annoyed by that, but I would've loved to experiment on that
Been trying different ones. I tried a neoprene glue (like wetsuits) for a couple of these and all purpose cement for another... which is a kind I use in leatherwork.
This is a nice video ! Thanks for showing the journey. 😄
This makes me want to make my own watch bands

Love this idea. Ive started making bands from my hemmed jean cutoffs
If you could saddle stitch, it would be great !
Perfect 100 on band, stitch 10 out of 100
It is saddle-stitched but it is much different than leather. Always learning!
Nice! I was looking for a diy video with straps made entirely of canvas!
Maybe reinforce the holes with small grommets/eyelets?
That would be great. Would certainly improve the design.

That's a great idea! You should totally do that!
it was so good but I think the sewing could be better(:
For sure! It's much different than leather!
Amazing
very nice strap!
thanks!
Nice video!
You Think is a possible to make nato strap for the watch, in that same way?
What glue are you using for canvas?

A bit. It is different than leather for sure!
