  • Solar power is more accessible than ever for many Americans due to federal and state incentives. However, many of these incentives are aimed at middle to upper-income homeowners. Programs like the Department of Energy’s Weatherization Assistance Program ensure that low-income families are along for the ride. Taking a traditional approach of addressing energy efficiency first, and then adding solar PV, crews substantially reduce the energy burden for those families who need it most.
Transitions can be slow, yet several states are charging forward, combining PV and low-income Weatherization. Southwestern Colorado is one of those frontiers. This profile in our Home Energy Pro Solar Series will show you PV in action in Colorado communities.
