    Great technique, terrible editing. The whole point of a video like this is to demonstrate the fine points of technique, so why did the editor cut it up in a way that makes it impossible to see what the teacher is actually doing?

    When you are first taught judo, you are taught to breakfall which basically takes all of the pressure out of your body onto the mat. After a lot of judo, you get used to being thrown. :)

      True, at my MMA we always warmed up with running in a circle, then practice ebie's (shrimps), front-rolls, backrolls, front falls, and back-falls.
      We then worked on technique, and finished class with one-on-one rolling.
      BJJ, Judo, and submission wrestling was mainly what we worked on.
      10-years and still going.

    Nice enough throws, poor editing, well it misses the key points for a judoka to study and copy. Not sure about where those Japanese translations came from either, not accurate.

      @chrisburtonmma4343 9 років тому

      Kristian Camp judo, although it is a martial art, is a sport (olympic) where you would all wear the same uniform (the GI) so it doesnt matter about the t-shirt problem ;)

      There are lots of judo throws that don't require grabbing there clothes e.g seoi nage

    • @vittocrazi
      @vittocrazi 7 років тому +2

      well first, the shirt will provide enough resistance to use as a control tool, but it will not likely last more than one fight. this isnt your problem anyway if you get in truble in the street. Second, all those techniques are still simple to do by gripping ukes body (except tsurikomi goshi, i give you that).
      Now, i'll admit that i have just little experience in judo, but people went in with clothes they didnt care to lose when they couldn afford a gi. many came to train with slim, short sleeved shirts, that werent even thick, and they were still usefull in randori. in this experience, the shirts also spreaded the tension trough themselves, and mostly over stretched (rarely one broke to the point of falling out).

    • @mintcondition35

    What's worse than falling incorrectly is having your opponent fall incorrectly onto you that hurts like hell as well cracked a rib like that lol . I've had a few friction burns as well from sparing on my knees and trying to get out of holds. They don't go easy on you just because your a girl lol but i'm glad that they don't . Ouch bet your ribs hurt after that.Today when doing training i ended up spraining my ankle so i'm on the sidelines for a bit lol

  • @JoachimderZweite
    @JoachimderZweite 11 років тому

    All the judo techniques are included in jui jitsu but not all the jui jitsu techniques are included in judo because judo is essentially a competitive sport today. Breaking the opponents neck in the olympics might be frowned upon. There are two exceptions - the Kata in armor and the Kata with the sword which I don't think are demonstrated anymore. I saw the Kata in armor when I was a boy in Tokyo.

      Judo works easier, the bigger they are as its leverage over a lower fulcrum, they fall harder. Physics. Reality of application is dependant on you personal skills and their situation and skills.
