Great video Rob. Android users in the US can throw out Apple and Huawei products. Once you do that, your quality smartwatch/fitness band choices are much more limited. In light of that, the Fitbit Charge 6 definitely offers a great "bang for the buck"...not to mention the possibility of a 1-week battery life.
@@mari.be.86Garmin has watches that last for weeks, and some times even months. They have good sleep stage tracking as well, with the exception of the REM stage.

Rob, the Dreem headband device is still being sold(and even upgraded to Dreem 3), so you should probably look into this. Hi! I retested some things or add more nights of data, so percentages might change to be up to date or more complete. Unfortunately that is the best I can do at this stage. I was in contact with Dreem/Beacon, and they would charge me tens of thousands of euros per year, which I cannot afford😅
@@TheQuantifiedScientist hello again Rob. Try and do a search on Google on the following article title "Has Dreem invented the ultimate sleep wearable".
As always, a great review. I think that the GPS issue is not that dramatic, you can set it to dynamic mode and use the GPS from a smartphone. That's what I always do, and I have no problems at all with the tracking. I understand that some people do not want to take their phones with them, but i carry mine always with me
I have several Fitbit charge devices over the years and yes, after 2-3 years the screen went blank. Fitbit always give you 25-35% off another device but that’s no excuse for not making their products durable.
thy really can't make them last - i gave away my charge 2 to upgrade to a 3, 4 and 5 and it outlasted all three of them but ultimately died as well now xD
Nice video like always, I got a charge 6 for Christmas. About the GPS accuracy the few times I used it it was okay (worse than a phone but not all over the place like in the video) but I was using it in an open environment. I think the signals are not powerful so in a city with many buildings it really struggle.
I always use my phone's GPS along side my Charge 5 mainly to save battery on the Charge but the accuracy of the Samsung S23 is excellent. I have a Charge 6 on the way and I'll keep it paired with my phone for GPS.
I'm glad you refreshed your Charge 6 testing. I have the PW1 now but I decided I really love good health metrics but don't care about a "smart watch." Think I'll just get a good Fitbit band next time (if they keep making them.)
The Fitbit Charge watches are really good and the battery lasts long (if you don't do long GPS tracking), but Google has messed up the data export functionality, so you can't take your data with you when eventually it breaks.
Great review Rob. How do you pull the HR values from the wearables to plot on your graphs? Just wondering how to get the data from the Fitbit devices. Thanks!!
Absolutely brilliant. Thank you for the review. I’m curious as to why HRV hasn’t been reviewed, given that it’s one of the simplest and *most important* biometrics to measure.
Your data-driven insights are really valuable, thank you! When I look at your plots comparing the R^2 for the various wearables you've reviewed, I'm mentally trying to think about how much additional accuracy one gains per dollar spent (ie. bang for buck). You sort of gesture at this question throughout the videos, and especially at the end of them, but your comments more discursive than analytical. I'd be keen to see you use your data to ascertain the marginal increase in accuracy consumers get per dollar. This could help someone decide precisely how much accuracy they can afford. For instance, you've persuaded me that Apple Watches are tier-1 performers across a range of exercises, but they're some of the most expensive (if not *the* most expensive) wearables out there. In outdoor cycling, eg, it looks Apple Watch SE is only ~5% more accurate than the Fitbit Charge 6 (correct me if I'm wrong! I'm just eyeballing here) and is ~$100 (USD) more expensive. What do you think: is this the right way to think about this? Is this overstretching your analysis? Would you consider including something like this in the future? Thanks again! Awesome stuff 🙏❤

Hi Rob. I have hand issues so stopped wearing my Galaxy Watch 5 Pro. As the Charge 6 is smaller, I want to try it. Im only walking, outdoor cycling and interested in Sleep Tracking. Is the Charge 6 generally the same or better for this?
In this video on youtube "Samsung Galaxy Fit 3: Warum du dir das Geld sparen kannst" there are accuracy measurements of HR. They are really bad. So don't hope for good results on this channel.

FYI - Samsung Fit 3 NOT coming to the US or Canada... "Samsung has confirmed to Android Central that the Galaxy Fit 3 will not be launched in Canada and the US. It is also not coming to some countries in Africa and Asia. It might not launch in Australia as well. The South Korean firm has confirmed that the Galaxy Fit 3 will launch on February 26 in specific Asian, Central American, European, and South American countries. A Samsung Electronics representative reportedly told the publication, “Samsung looks holistically across our product portfolio and bundling optimal devices together that align with the market trends and needs for each region.”
On outside runs the band has to be rather tight or sunlight ruins the pulse measurement. My last run was spot on. The gps on the six tends to drop signal and isn't as accurate as the versa 3
I am planning to buy a Polar H10. Do the 2 Polar apps (Flow and Beat) have the feature where I can set custom heart rates (low and high threshold) and if I cross them, it will notify me via a beep or vibration?
I have the charge 6 , this morning I dit a walk on the treadmill, and my heartrate was 95/110 , the last 5 min , I dit very slow walking, normal the heartrate must go low , what it also dit , but then sudden it as around the 140 , and after a couple of seconds it was in the 80 , strange , it’s not the first time that it does like that .
I observed regularly these unexplainable peaks in the measured heartrate during normal walking too. These peaks occurred in two charge 6 I bought. I returned both.
What do you think about fitness trackers without displays? I'm thinking about a device without a screen and accurate heart rate measuring etc and long battery life. Also, if inspire 4 has better HR tracking across sports (like charge6), with it's 1+ week battery, may be good upgrade from inspire 2. Odd inspire 2 still has best sleep tracking on the x-axis from Google/Fitbit. With Inspire3 just marginally behind on xaxis but more consistent on it's worst sleep stage tracking on y-Axis....
Hi Rob, I've been following your channel for a short while and I really like your content. Really compliments. Can I ask you for advice? In your opinion, what is the most reliable and accurate smartwatch for health and fitness other than Apple?
Wait seriously? I was really considering getting this device since I had a Fitbit inspire HR and honest to God I loved it. It was such an amazing device.
How tall are the buildings on your ride to work? I saw another comment about tracking through buildings. In my experience land surveying, even Trimble base station GPS surveys struggle around tall buildings or trees, and take quite some time to connect to satellites depending on the timing with regard to orbits and clear sky exposure.
if you want to use it for sports dont buy it. during outdoor cycling it just drops from 130-140 heartbeat to around 80 for 5 to 10 minutes at a time.. very unrealiable. i used a huawei watch fit 2 before and went back to it because it has much much more accurate heartrate for cycling the only reason i bought the fitbit charge 6 for was the bluetooth broadcast (to strava app) which works fine, but it is just very inaccurate
I am awaiting with bated breath as my old watch has almost kicked the bucket and so far I like what I've seen from the Oneplus watch 2 but I'd rather get something that will at least somewhat correctly measure my HR when running or cycling 😅 was disappointed to see TicWatch 5 underperform.
@@Kuk0san yeah me too i ll choose one between Oneplus 2 and Pixel 2, i would the Op coz he s bigger and with better batterylife, i hope it has correct measurements too
For me, it is unexpected how close Charge 6 is to Pixel Watch 2. Maybe, if it did have more features available compared to the Pixel Watch 2 - I'd choose it over the Google Watch device
Appreciate your videos a lot, congratulations and thank you for what you do! Why was not HRV mentioned please? Would love to know what you think about it for this device I bought for my partner; not sure whether to return it for something else with a similar or higher price. TY!
Dear Rob! Have you done any analysis of HRV? Does it have any value or it is a gimmick? What is the best device to track/measure HRV? What is the best application? The values and results differ - Welltory may show low HRV (they have HRV Index and HRV) while Elite HRV may show a perfect balance between sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems. Can you please provide your view and, possible analysis? Thank you so much.
>Elite HRV may show a perfect balance between sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems It cant, because HRV reflects parasympathetic system and you can't extract sympathetic or their balance. If you will look at novel research the old hypothetis that LF and LF/HF represent sympathetic system or their pns/sns balance is not supported by data. What you see is based mostly on a parasympathetic system.
Is there a place to view live rankings on devices and data online ther than your videos? Would love to just be able to see your results, click a watch to see the review or be brought to affiliate link buying oage, and/or data summary.
I think you can improve tracking if you use your phone, since it is not a full blown smartwatch I would imagine people are more likely to keep their phone around.
Hoi Rob, geweldige content. Zou je de Ultrahuman Ring Air eens kunnen testen? Hoe verhoudt deze zich tot de Oura Ring 3 ? De Ultrahuman vereist geen subscriptie, wat een groot voordeel is in mijn ogen.

TY!
Please do a detailed review of Galaxy Fit 3
Please, review the redmi watch 4 and the oneplus watch 2.
Please do a review for the new OnePlus watch 2 and the latest nothing watch.
Any chance you could do a review on the oneplus watch 2 that was released recently?
So Apple Watches are the best?
The stepcounter is useless on this fitness tracker. It counts while driving, while eating, even while sleeping.
Great video! Thanks for making this :)
One Plus Watch 2 review please!!
Rob could you review the new software update from Galaxy Watch 6 series? Some people said it more accurate.
Thanks in advance
*Sir, When is the Samsung GALAXY FIT 3 deep evaluation and comparison with **_GALAXY WATCH 6_** CLASSIC coming ?*
>Elite HRV may show a perfect balance between sympathetic and parasympathetic nervous systems
It cant, because HRV reflects parasympathetic system and you can't extract sympathetic or their balance. If you will look at novel research the old hypothetis that LF and LF/HF represent sympathetic system or their pns/sns balance is not supported by data.
What you see is based mostly on a parasympathetic system.
Would love to see a review of the ultra human ring v Oura ring gen 3 as the ultra human has NO monthly subscription
I love the scientific approach!!!
Great review, would be great to test VO2 MAX on this and another similar devices. In Charge 6 is named cardio fitness score.
i would never again buy fitbit watch. they last approximately only 2 years before problems creeping in.
I have found the Charge 6 to be accurate for walks but quite poor for indoor rowing compared to my Polar H10.
what is the correlation for the spinning without the outlier session that had a lot of noise?
Someone on eBay could probably ship a galaxy fit3 anywhere.
Please review for oneplus watch 2
Hoi Rob, geweldige content. Zou je de Ultrahuman Ring Air eens kunnen testen? Hoe verhoudt deze zich tot de Oura Ring 3 ? De Ultrahuman vereist geen subscriptie, wat een groot voordeel is in mijn ogen.
Has the step counter improved on this?
Have you tried the Amazfit Zen Buds?
Awesome analysis. Thank you. !!
You should make a video comparing software on the smartphones, which has the best health tracking metrics? Same with their respective mobile apps. What about price? Which gives best bang for your buck?
Great content very enjoyable...i give one idea...what about do compare PNOE device and watches how accurate they burn calories...❤
The algorithms realised I am looking at the Fitbit Charge 6 and presented me with an article about the "rumoured" fitbit charge 7 with speculated release in September.
Worth waiting for?
