      @@nelsonrodriguez3414 oh that’s easy. When on a budget, clean it up.
      After the military I went to college and was really strapped on cash for a minute. So, I would just do stuff to my old Toyota pickup that required labor and not cash. Instead of trying to do too much, I just worked on making the truck really clean instead.
      I lowered the front via cranking the torsion bars, bought some cheap tapered lowering blocks, and saved for a decent set of wheel with the right offset. Then I just made the interior brand new with my own little details here and there…

    Finally someone who scraps the 4x4 front and flare rear idea. Consistency looks better than a truck built with confusion.

      @Inner_Sanctum  2 роки тому

      Not sure if I follow what you mean. Maybe I am reading it wrong. Whatevs!
      The 4x4 fenders are for my other D21 project. I simply made a quick reference video showing the differences between 2WD and 4WD fenders and answered your question. That wasn’t an episode for this truck. This truck was always getting pocket fender flares. Pretty consistent on that front.

    • @RealityUntold
      @RealityUntold 2 роки тому

      I see so many people use a 4x4 fender up front then a fender flare in the rear. It makes the truck look inconsistent in design and execution. Almost like they had one idea and didn't follow through with the theme. Like wearing two different shoes.

    I just found this channel. I was thinking of selling My 370 for a D21. I got my Z FOR 11K, I see the same car, the same mileage going for 19 to 21K, That is a lot of profit for a D21. I found a 5 speed 96 in solid shape for 3K, I can 4 link and junk yeard swap and still have G's left to play with.

      So, I have another D21 that I haven't started working on yet. It's going to blow this one out of the water in every way, but I am trying to finish one project at a time. That truck has a perfect bed on it that I am going to use to create the negative tooling mold so I can consistently make/replicate identical bolt-on over fenders. That's actually why I have the 4WD fenders, they are for that truck.

After I get it on the road and no additional problems rear their heads, I'm totally copying those wheels!!! Flat black they look great. Pretty sure the Mazda is very close to the Nissan in spec so they should fit. 🤞🤘✊

    Looking good! I read a response to a comment you made from an earlier video how you intended on using this truck to primarily drift and occasionally track. You said something about building a different truck with a different suspension setup on the track build. I'm really curious being I'd like to build a Pro Touring setup. Would you not recommend coilovers for a daily / Pro Touring setup?

    • @Inner_Sanctum
      @Inner_Sanctum  2 роки тому

      Well, I have 3 trucks that I am working on total.
      This white D21 built primarily for drifting that has coilovers and retains its solid axle, Chris’ VQ35 D21 for general purpose fun that retains almost all stock steering and suspension components (just new/upgraded), and my black D21 (spoiler) that is going to be built for circuit track/hill climb/time attack use only, that will forego all the D21 suspension and steering components in favor of all s-chassis components. The black truck will have a fully independent rear suspension and an entirely different front suspension with rack & pinion.
      I think for a daily/pro-tour it really depends on how extreme you’re willing to drive it. These trucks can do really well by just replacing the steering and suspension components with new parts, swapping out rubber bushings for polyurethane, upgrading the brakes a little, lowering it down a bit, and getting some better wheels and tires under the truck.

    • @RealityUntold
      @RealityUntold 2 роки тому

      Appreciate that info. I've asked a few people on Instagram whose done the Beebani coilover and 4 link kit how much of an improvement over stock it was and never got a response. I tend to prefer a softer spring rate with big sway bars. So, I'm hesitant about the rough/rigid nature of coilovers.

    • @Inner_Sanctum
      @Inner_Sanctum  2 роки тому +1

      @@RealityUntold I see what you mean. Coilovers have come an incredibly long way over the last 20 years though.
      For instance, this truck is running QA-1 DS-401 coil bodies (compression/rebound adjustable; single valve) with 9HT450 (450lb) springs up front and 9HT250 (250lb) springs out back. QA-1 also offer the dual valve option that allows you to adjust compression and rebound separately. Also, they offer a ton of different spring rate options.
      I reckon you could make this truck 2 times softer than the stock torsion and leaf setup. There’s just that much adjustability and control. Coilovers are just superior in that regard.

    • @RealityUntold
      @RealityUntold 2 роки тому

      True, if that’s what you’re into. Not a huge fan of either of those options personally. The Pathfinder front fenders grafted to the rear just don’t line up all that well without extensive metal reworking.
