David Frizzell is a Grammy award nominee and winner for Song of the Year at the Academy of Country Music Awards for his 1981 smash hit “You’re the Reason God Made Oklahoma”, which will celebrate its 50th anniversary in January of 2021. The younger brother of the late Lefty Frizzell, David earned his place as one of the top country music artists in the 1980s and continues to record music and tour today. In addition to his career as a musician, Frizzell also wrote a tribute book dedicated to his brother, called “I Love You A Thousand Ways: The Lefty Frizzell Story”, which CMT named one of the best music books of the year in 2011.
