Brown, Crystal Gayle, Joe Stampley, Allen Frizzell featuring Tess Frizzell, Johnny Rodriguez, Bobby Bare, Kevin Denney, John Cowan and
Amy Clawson.
David Frizzell wrote or co-wrote 11 songs on the 20-song CD/DVD project. Other songwriters featured on the project include: Tom Botkin, Kevin Denney, Roger Alan Wade, Lefty Frizzell, Marijohn Wilkin, Danny Dill, Jimmie Davis, Alex Harvey, Stephen Schuffert, Kevin Welch, Rick Scott, Charlie Moore, Chris Cummings, Dennis Knutson, and DeWayne Blackwell.
The first single, “This Is Our Time,” was co-written by David Frizzell, Tom Botkin and Kevin Denney. The single is an unprecedented, star-studded vocal recording featuring David Frizzell, Merle Haggard, Crystal Gayle, Johnny Lee, Jeannie Seely, Joe Stampley, Gene Watson, Johnny Rodriguez, T. Graham Brown, Helen Cornelius, Lacy J. Dalton, Jimmy Fortune, Allen Frizzell and Kevin Denney. Each artist steps up to the mic to sing the hook from one of his or her hit singles.
FRIZZELL & FRIENDS television special was first aired on RFD-TV in 2008 and is scheduled to air on The Phil Mack Show.
The DVD of the Television special FRIZZELL & FRIENDS “This Is Our Time” was taped at the Texas Troubadour Theater in Nashville, Tennessee.

The 10 year anniversary single, “Long Black Veil,” was co-written by Marijohn Wilkin and Danny Dill and recorded by David Frizzell and Gene Watson. Release is scheduled for February 2017.

Lefty is my favorite singer and this is my favorite song and the only one I remember all the words. Gene would be a close #2. Gene honors Lefty in this song by singing it just like Lefty did. David is good, but I don't like him signing it different than Lefty did.
