- Black Mental Health Project Episode 1 | FAITH
If our mantra here at Christian Cultural Center is Christ in Culture, and one of our core values is Faith, it should be okay for us to talk about Mental Health and the effect it has on the Black Community. This episode discusses the relationship between faith and mental health in the Black community.

"It's okay not to be okay."
-- Tyler Perry (from Madea's Family Reunion)
This quote when I heard it totally changed my outlook on my faith expectations. The act of thinking that I was in some kind of sin or another because I was experiencing some kind of stress or other maladaptive feelings was bringing about a real trauma. The idea that I can be okay while I don't feel okay really made a difference. When I heard it said again in this episode, it nailed it down for me.
Powerful and exactly what I needed to hear today! Looking forward to more on this subject. The connection between the church addressing today's mental health needs is paramount! Thank you!
That was a beautiful lesson.
This series is really good 🙏🏽. I am looking forward to seeing more.
Thank you to Christian Cultural Center for allowing this issue to be addressed! Starting the conversation is foundational to identifying solutions to the mental health crisis that exists in black and brown communities. Again "thank you"!
