Thanks for another fun video lads. It’s always good to keep up with your travels. I’ve collected lots of great advice and riding tips from y’all even though I live across the pond in Idaho USA. Cheers and safe travels 🍻
I love the banter, a few laughs at each others expense, now if i was on my own it would be cursing after cursing but i'd figure it out. No one to share the joy, and have a laugh. The Lone Rider in question looks fairly easy to set up. I have one but at this point the provinces in British Columbia and Alberta in Canada are burning so i havent had the chance to try the tent. How quick can you dissasemble the tent and on your way with a forest fire coming in your direction. Cheers.
What a giggle. It’s always fun putting up a new tent for the first time and this was no exception. That said, being a seasoned motocamper I can definitely say that I’d have had my Redverz up and running in a fraction of the time and more importantly without assistance. Yes it’s a big tent with a fairly large pack size but on the GSA it’s not a problem and when I need a smaller pack size I use my 2 man Husky on……wait for it….my Husky!!! Yeah I know Brand Tart lol That said, there are some really nice features on this tent that other manufacturer’s could easily incorporate. Great video boys as usual 👍
Brand tart! Haha. Yeah, we'll get far quicker and slicker than this, it's a very simple set up really. The pack size is no biggie (pun intended), it's a fair trade off for thicker materials and a decent amount of space 😎👌🏻
Thanks Phil, yep can’t argue with any of that. We have other tents that are rapid to put up and I suppose it all depends what you are after for your adventure eh. Gotta say though, I love the Husky match up 👌😂
Is it a free standing tent? I need a free standing for my trip this year. Also, one that doesn't need the outer fly sheet. Will check out the forcalz, decathlon make some decent gear
joined the club, had mine up last week having sold my vango mirage pro 200, like this, bit of a faff getting the outer up first if it is pissing down, but a few more tries so I get it down to a T
@@lightweightadv same, my Vango Mirage Pro all went up in one, was also free standing, but having owned and used the Coleman Cobra and bedrock tents, I like the idea of having two openings for flow of air and just getting in and out, the Coleman are both similar in this way but weren't free standing. This tent will get used and abused over the next few years on my trips.
They're the Giant Loop prong horn straps. They come on a variety of lengths. For cheaper, but equally as strong versions in the UK, check out advproducts.com or dualsporteurope.com 👍🏻
@@lightweightadv 🤣 haha I'm yet to try a bivvy, if there's any money left over after the house purchase I might go for a mini trip and camp to save money but I do like my little 1 man MSR - it's cosy 😅
GS Adventure chaps use a very special tent, 5 star spa hotel with heated underground car park 😂 Popped in JUDD yesterday, there was a very lonely T7 in there 😢😂
Ahh..the old Ealing Comedy tent ' erection' routine...😂😂. But seriously, looks like a decent tent. Years ago at the Adventure film festival i had borrowed an ancient tent a friend used on the Artic survey expedition. As i hopelessly struggled with this bloomin tent the chap next to me set up an amazing tarp based camp, and the young lady opposite having sorted her tent in a few minutes just came over and with a look of pity in her eyes took over and sorted it out!! Austin Vince would have disowned me 😂😂 Cheers Steve

Lads ... you made that look so bloody difficult, these are a piece of pee to "errect" 😂 love mine, and a good trade off between weight, space, and quality ...
Have my LR adventure tent since late 2021, only two flaws in the design, but it withstands the rain very well. Flaw one, the vestibule should have the tarp, instead your gear sits on wet ground and unless you do yoga your knees rest on the ground as you wangle your way into the tent😮. My solution is a kneeling pad for the entrance and that I slip underneath the tent bag strapped to the bike. Second flaw, the tent is not high enough inside, again, if you are into yoga you can get dressed and undressed no bother😅 The first tent you erected is the standard way to erect this tent
Too low a headheight. Not enough vestibule space for the bulky riding gear (often wet!!) to be stores outside the inner, but not still pressing on the inner. Without the addition of a tarp (...yes, more kit!) ...bigger, higher tent, or even one or two of the carp fishing bivis out there.
@@lightweightadv Wild Country (Terra Nova cheaper range) Helm Compact 3. Weight for weight, volume to volume, and a pole system that may wiser over time and tricky weather. Sure we could then spend a load more money, but...
Do not call it a dry bag. It's not a dry bag. If you put the tent away wet. And then put the tent in your pannier, the water will drain from the tent , and soak all your kit. Why LR couldn't manufacture a proper dry bag instead ? Also, bin the original pegs. They are made of cheese. Ok if erecting in green grass blighty, but as soon as you go south, stoney, gravel dry solid ground...... purchase decent pegs.
I did not "like" this video because of the bountiful tent knowledge shared. I liked it because of the line "so when your KTM breaks down...". Hilarious! -Beta owner
This is the best and funniest presentation of this tent that I have seen 👍
😂 Thank you 👍🏻
I was waiting for "dirty end" then I would have had a full house playing double entendre bingo. Very entertaining chaps, your best vid for a while.

We've not tested it against a forest fire 😳, but it can be collapsed very fast, especially if you're not as concerned with packing it perfectly

Decathlon forcalz 2 man tent . Great wee thing so easy to put up 2 doors and about 100 quid 😊 .
Have a look at them

Yes, free standing .the great thing is it's 3 poles, and the main poles come to a dead end . So you only secure one end . They also fit in a pannier
Looking forward to doing some bike camping this year 👍
It's always good to get out there, isn't it 😎👌🏻

I actually think it's an easy tent to set up, just needs a tiny bit of practice. Not used it in the rain yet...but I'm sure I will 🫠

How is an “Adventure” tent different from a camping tent?
Hi. Bit of a random question but what were the straps you used to tie down the tent please and what length?

Always roll your tent flaps underneath. That way if it rains you dont get water on the inside.

Looks a bit big tbh, doesn’t pack very small.
It's not tiny, no. It's just a bit wider than my nature hike which is 1.8kg. It's always going to be long, due to the poles I suppose
