For those who do not know Sony had a falling out with Supermassive Games during the time of The Quarry’s development process, Supermassive wanted to experiment with other console competitors and develop games for them which Sony saw as a ‘betrayal’. The reason for why PlayStation can still remake Until Dawn is because of exclusive rights due to both entitie’s contract, this is also why they aren’t back for the potential rumoured sequel for the series too. Do hope that this sequel game is done faithfully and wonder if it will follow the original 2014 release’s post-credits or if the remake is the new cannon now?!
In a way I'm glad they won't be back for the sequel if there is one, they have lost heir touch and it shows with The Quarry that was bad and The Dark Pictures that were mid (House of Ashes is the best out of all 4). Until Dawn was a game with many circumstances that made the game quite unique in the end, Larry Fessenden as a writer, Jason Graves for the score, all of the talented actors who brought those characters to life, and also the fact it was a long time project that had started on PS3.
To answer your question I'm pretty sure it will follow the remake, it's probably the only reason why they remade it in the first place, otherwise why bother adding a new scene teasing a sequel.
Until Dawn is still Supermassives best game. Dark Pictures are very mixed and Quarry was just meh 😕 haven't played Frank Stone yet.
Until dawn > The quarry > The house of ashes, the rest are terrible, special shout out to the devil within me for being hot trash!
The Quarry was better than the Dark Pictures anthology

Period until dawn is the most memorable horror game I ever played I remember the game so well remember being scared to move round the cabin lol 😂😂

Even if is cannon that everyone survives, I don’t think it makes sense to use them again. Knowing what they know about the Wendigos, I don’t think any of them would come back to the mountain.
It's 100% everyone survived, it makes the most sense from a story point.

probably it will be about new characters and we get to meet one or two characters from the past game or read a newspaper about them to confirm which is cannon.

This would make a remake of this game make a lot more sense (along with it coming to PC finally, requiring upgrades regardless, so not just about the console remaster). We often see remasters or remakes to gauge an audience for reviving an IP.
There's a new post credits scene with Sam, which feels like more hinting at a sequel or something.

Was there any official word that it was gonna potentially happen, I saw no news articles proving this? At the same time I never really went out of my way to check.

@@PlatinumKnight-je3vy firesprite is working on a horror game and it's not a new ip and sony have like 3 horror ips with the remake and movie coming up it was pretty obvious which game they are working on

I've spent the past few days playing the PS4 version, great game (even with the disjoin between voice a mouth movement in parts). I was mainly getting annoyed that it keeps forgetting my replays of chapter 9 so one person is always dead when I just start chapter 10 (yes I need to replay 9 and 10 in one go)
Wow, I didn’t hear the Siren rumors. I’ve been asking for Sony to bring that back for so long. If a new Siren game or even a Forbidden Siren remake, got pushed to the side for Until Dawn 2 I would actually be annoyed with this. Siren, from members of Silent Hill’s ‘Team Silent’ was right up there with Resident Evil and Silent Hill back in the day and is such an underrated game. And one of Sony’s few true survival horror IP’s.

To be honest I’m not sure if we need a sequel but if we do get one then I’m probably still gonna play it because I’m curious myself but yeah.. 😭
Would this game start with having to choose one of the endings/outcomes of the first game and the second game begins from there on? If so then I'd choose the one where only Sam and Mike survive.

I’m all for an UD2. Until Dawn was one of my favorite PS4 games. I would love if they brought back the original cast though I’m not sure how realistic that would be.

Even if it's in development, how would they continue the story depending on how many characters lived or died? Unless Sam and the rest who survived will be the main characters for the sequel or something
Maybe they might just say that both Sam & Mike survived and the other five (excluding Josh) are dead, it might be like six new characters around their teens when the latter two are in their late 20’s- early 30’s?

Hey Alex people already got thier hands on the remake game which is not realy anything different but this is now not far stretch and makes sense since the game has new secret endings why add that unless they were planning to do a sequal
It’s possible because Ballistic Moon is probably part of PS Studios soon and they are made out of some Super Massive ex stuff

No I don't want a sequel if they're using the same engine and lighting. The Remake looks worse than the original. And runs at 30 fps while the PS4 version looks visually better and runs at 60 fps.
