A hypothesis on why rain sounds are calming: Preditors are lest likely to be out during rain, ao when we were vulnerable to that, the rain brought a period of rest from potential threats.
Ah humans and our silly lizard brains. 😂😂
Also the negative ions released with rain (and moving water in general) helps raise serotonin levels.

That's my plan. Cut down every tree in winter, lay the paths, plant the trees for tappers where I want them, etc. Now I just need iridium for sprinklers...
Just some tips if you want em!
I always put jades in crystallariums and trade them in at the desert trader for stairs! That way I skip levels with lots of monsters or levels with no value
You can also buy bombs at the dwarf in the normal mines to blow up big clusters to find holes to drop more levels
That's how I grind the skull caves XD
And the lucky stew also helps if you have the recipe!
Something I found recently that you might like is a heated drink coaster. They look like a coaster but they stay warm so that your drinks don’t go cold! It’s been a game changer for me!
I have one of those and 100% agree, never knew I needed one until I had it!

I love that you can just find clothes now. Not had the heart shirt yet but had quite a few others. I made a rule in my playthrough fir myself that every new clothing item gets worn until I get a new one
I never change, my dude just has seasonal hats, it looks off to me when i give them different shirts

Grass does stay in winter now, even if you don't plant it yourself! I've only planted it once and have been through two winters with it staying. I think the catch is though that it doesn't spread during winter

If your silo isn't full, you should occasionally go around your farm and cut the grass with your scythe, but leave the grass along the borders alone, so that in the next couple of days the grass grows inward and fills in the spots you cut. Then choose a different spot to cut with the scythe the next day while the other spots recover. Grass also won't die in the Winter anymore, it just won't grow. And planting grass starters on the last day of Winter will expand exponentially the first day of Spring.

Hey Gabs! Caught the stream but I couldn’t comment so I came here to say - if you are zoomed all the way out you have to zoom in 5 times to get to back to the default.
Also the Ooblets Spring Event started today and they updated the game so you can find snow plops on tippy top! Mine usually spawn on the path anywhere between where you have to break the rocks with a pickaxe and the top of tippy top. I’m not sure if they spawn anywhere on the path or if mine just keep spawning in that area. Either way - snow plops on Tippy Top!
I'm really grateful the geode crusher doesn't need coal to operate anymore, it's a rarer resource for me than diamonds by the time year 3 rolls around lol
Coal nodes spawn in the quarry and the volcano now, so it's a little less of an unreliable resource as it used to be!
Gab, if you got covid recently (in the past couple of months), the NHS has just released a study that 1- it stays active in your body for longer than they thought, and 2- that it makes things that would normally not be too intense (like sinus infections) way way worse than they should be, so that could be one of the reasons you're feeling it so strongly. Hope it gets better soon!
Also, with the red crabs - the highlights on them is what tells you. If the lighter spots are completely smooth with no bumps, it's a crab. If it has anything but smooth shapes, it's a rock.

It's actually the weapon with the highest damage (but low dps) and it shoots out flying cats :3 (In Terraria it isn't that good in Stardew but iirc you can change a swords design to another?)

Drinking hot drinks makes your body go '!!! It's hot in here, I gotta cool it down!' which would then help alleviate fevers. (And why cool drinks don't really help cool you down in the summer)
1:11:52 - I SPOTTED THE DIFFERENCE!!! The shadow on the rock crab is *round* while the normal rock as a little tip, it's so subtle I wasn't sure if I was seeing wrong or not, but that is the only difference (at least for the red rocks)

When you first started this playthrough I said I would try and keep up or match your pace, but sadly, I’ve gone and gotten quite fixated on Stardew again. Got the greenhouse right before Winter rolled in! Didn’t get to do that before. Such a nice game and you and this community make it so cozy. Hope to see more of this

Oak trees are more Oval shaped. Maple trees are Messy. Someone told me that once for Stardew trees and I always remember now! :)
Newest minor update just added fish frenzies and 20(!!!) new mine layouts, can't wait to see how it goes in the next stream.
Also keep in mind that because the new farm layout has so much grass, you have a lot of space for trees and stuff that you'd otherwise be compelled to put elsewhere. Can't plant crops on it, and because it doesn't grow grass it's not great for animals either. I keep the whole grassy band forested up :)

The black slime that had the star above it'ys head is not new. I have Stardew for the consoles and it's not updated. And I ran into them. Any color slime can be like that one. It means it's a special slime. They give better loot. I got my first prismatic shard and lots of diamonds from slimes like that one.

got a tomato shirt the other day from a tree i think. the name would suggest a round red circle as a tomato on the shirt, like your heart shirt is a heart on the shirt. but nope it was more half and half purple on the right and red on the left. player view not character
It's half gold half blue, a reference to the blue/gold dress phenomenon from a few years back.
Because the description for the shirt references the arguments over whether tomatoes are fruit or vegetables, another similar debate.

Person with 45 chicken statues here! I’m on year 3 end of summer. I also probably have gotten the same amounts of the rusty spurs AND rusty cogs but I’ve sold most all of them. I dunno why, but almost every other wormies on my farm is one of those three and then usually clay or stone. Hardly ever seeds. The luck in this game is crazy. 😂 I dunno what I’m gonna do with them, but I’ve kept them. Lol

And honestly, it's been enough cooldown time from it, that much like Ocarina of Time, it would be super fun to see you play a fresh playthrough from the beginning, with all the cute interactions with the characters, and how you would strat your playthrough on this time now that you know so much about it.
It makes for SUCH a fascinating playthrough to watch, when someone is playing through the 2nd time on it. Plus, it's just constant cute adorbs content. That game is a unique creation, it's so cute and fun always. Dances, songs, sound effects, characters. :)
my favourite levels for prismatic slimes are 5,45 and 85! always seems to work for me
Iridium tea doesn't count as the 2 weekly gifts. You could give it everyday if you have enough saved up

i think the no face cam for puzzle streams is genius! the only thing that I would be interested in for fun is a BB cam hehe,. if he's anything like my cats, he will lay on top of the puzzle pieces or bat them around!

I just read the patch notes from ver. 1.6.4 and ConcernedApe is like "here's some vinegar to get rid of the moss, oh and mystery boxes will drop less, bye~." And I'm like "oh is that right, thanks ERRIC." /s He knows what he did.

I can see the difference in the regular red rocks and the red rock crabs is the shadow. The regular red rocks have a point in the shadow shape while the crab ones hace a smooth-ish round shadow.
Lemsip is such a goated product. Always bring a ton back whenever I visit England 😅

It's going to come to consoles and mobile ASAP, the PC gets done first with patches as it's fastest to diagnose issues and fix them whilst the console versions are waiting for approval from the relevant stores

How do you even get Prismatic Jelly? Even on my 8yr save I never got it...
I think what would be helpful for you is to download the up info suite mod it’s not like a thing that would make you get an unfair advantage in the game but it has helped me to remind me to go the merchant pent animals see when my products are done and other things it’s so helpful

There's a piercing you can get if you suffer from migraines/chronic headaches that has proven to help, I think it's the daith piercing.
Not necessarily proven actually, it's more anecdotally working for some and not others. As a migraine sufferer, I had looked into that. And in a really bad turn, if it doesn't help you, the piercing will actually interfere with possible accupuncture there that has scientific backing, unlike the piercing.
The American Migraine Foundation says the following: "While some people with migraine say they have experienced relief from their symptoms after getting a daith piercing, the only evidence that supports this is purely anecdotal, and there is no research that supports that theory. The American Migraine Foundation believes that many results are temporary and may be a product of the placebo effect, so it does not recommend daith piercings as a treatment strategy in light of potential risks like infection and pain." So there is actually no scientific proof of a daith piercing helping with migraines.
I have them. And I’d say they help… I also get Botox for migraine
I got the daith after decades of headaches and migraines. I've been lucky that it's helped tremendously. My migraines are far less frequent. I waited several years to do it and I'm glad I finally did. It won't work for everyone, but if you like piercings anyhow, I think it's worth a shot.
