I know it's not a cat rescue like you talked about, but I have a fun story that's similar.
I picked up a bearded dragon once that had a severe calcium deficiency. He was so sick that they gave him a diagnosis of about a year. I named him Maui, gave him a cage that helped him move better (he had practically no use of his front legs along with other bone issues), and had regular vet checkups and calcium injections along with monitored outdoor sunshine time. He lived with me for 5 years. Best little lizard I ever had, and cuddly too 😂❤
With reptiles I get the sense that blatant neglect like that is so much more common than with cats and dogs where people usually have a rudimentary idea of how one should keep them alive. Like thinking your leopard gecko should be eating once a week and not even bothering to google it even once, then not noticing how skinny the gecko is until it's too late (which is a long time since reptiles tend to be pretty sturdy). Good on you for giving the lil guy a good rest of his life and caring for him so well!
Snake Discovery is a good youtube channel to hear stories like that.

I did the prismatic slime quest for the first time recently and it dropped at 11pm on the Final Day- so I had to haul ass to the witch swamp so I could teleport right into the wizard's basement like HERE.
good thinking to use the workaround with the witches swamp!
Oh btw! The mushroom logs will give you different mushrooms depending on the tree(s) around it, I think pine will give chanterelles which are good money makers early on and in late game you can get a “mystic tree” which produces the purple mushrooms from the log!
Edit: I looked it up lol
Pine = Chanterelles
Oak = Morels
Maple = 10% chance of purple 90% chance of red
Mystic = purple
There’s some randomness as well, but I don’t completely understand all the mathy stuff lmaooo
Agreed, I did the math and pine trees are the best, only surpassed by mystic trees. A good layout can be arranging all the mushroom logs in one long line and then planting 2 or 3 rows of trees along the line above that, spaced one apart so they grow up. Can tap them too. 10 trees (or more) in a 7x7 grid around the log gives the best results.

So, embarrassingly enough, I didn’t figure this out until recently (even though it’s been in the game since before 1.6)..
BUT if you get a spare Ancient Sword relic and tailor it with cloth, it’ll make a Link outfit from the LoZ series. Definitely a fun find! Enjoying the series as always, and wishing you and yours the best!
Also, just found this out as well (especially useful for those awkward to reach bubbles when fishing).. but, if you hold the joystick/mouse to the direction you want to cast your line in, during the min/max rod cast, it’ll cast your line in that direction
Hi, it’s me, someone who became horribly addicted again at the start of another stardew play through by Gab. These are literally my favorite vids on UA-cam, full stop. Can’t wait to experience it again and for 1.6 to hit the switch!
Somehow it made me feel better hearing Gab talking about cats because I know how much she loves them and, of course, BB. My 9 year old cat passed away two days ago and I'm heartbroken but this made me feel good 😊

Cat rescue story. There was a feral cat/older kitten in my x-mum-in-law's yard, and she had gotten sick for some reason. And so we got here and took her to the vet and they basically told me not to bother, shes gunna die anyways, like it wasnt worth the cost. However, they can eat a shoe, cause i nursed her back to health and now shes my little princess. That was about, 8 years ago? :)
Just a tip: you don't need to hold on to quest items while the quest is active. You don't need to show the items to the quest givers. Just talk to them after you've collected whatever they wanted you to collect. They don't want to actually see it. :) Oh and keep in mind that for the CC you need 10 "small" eggs. Not the big ones.
Been playing way too much of this: Year 2, Summer 23, married to Emily, reached Ginger Island, and building up my piggy empire. I love this game. ❤
7:12 the first play through Gab did got me hooked! And now ever since then I can’t stop playing, I have both mobile and steam version.
I have a shed of strawberries! There’s a wallpaper that looks like a field and grass flooring that really pulls it off. Pineapples probably would be more profitable. You’ll have to trade the trader for the recipe on Ginger Island for the full retaining soil for 50 cindershards as well.
I watch a fair number of animal rescues on UA-cam myself, mostly street cats but a few dog ones too it's amazing how most of them turn out once they're healthy and happy again

Watching you play Stardew got me hooked on the game again and I’ve been playing like 4 hours a day for the past few days (of course I took breaks in between as I have school and testing is going on right now) but I’m already is spring year 2 😅 it’s very addictive. Watching you gather things for the fair reminds me of something that helps me; I keep a chest by the entrance of my farm for the "goes to something" items. I use it to set aside geodes, gifts, quest items or community center items!

Not sure if you’ve already played/taped the next episode, but I’ve always found heaps of Midnight Carp in the cindersap forest lake. Used to grind for flounder and Midnight carp for sea foam pudding when I was fishing for legendary fish. Haven’t played for a year or so, but was a massive addict! 😄 I’ve been enjoying watching you showcase the 1.6 update.

I wouldn't bother holding on to wine right now to age. You still need 2 house upgrades and then you gotta wait 2 whole seasons for it to age. I only age cheese. Im not waiting 2 seasons just for the extra 2k per wine.

I am glad BB is doing well, as a coincidence I was diagnosed with diabetes not long before BB was so hearing about his journey has paralleled my own.

I find it so much easier to spot rock crabs by looking for misaligned rocks, they tend not to line up with the other rocks properly

I know this comments is one month long but I just want to say to you that you never saw a primastic jelly carrying slime because you never did take the quest. It starts spawning with the quest!
@@whitehatrabbit1931 no, it is almo st impossible to find prismatic jelly. Yes, it can be found. But it isn't worth the time and effort. It is THEE one quest in game that is buggy. It is rare to actually FIND the jelly.
@@lukeyznaga7627 well it's not bugged, it's just the chance of one slime being replaced by a prismatic slime is between 1% and 1.2% depending of the daily luck. I can see why it can be a waste of time but it's working as intended.
So the red rocks, it's not the shadow under it, it's the lighter bits on the top of the rock itself. Like, the more white area. If it's smooth, it's a crab. If it has bumps, it's a rock. Maybe I should tag you in a photo on twitter or something lol

I started playing a week ago and somehow sunk 45 hours into it already. I got 4 prismatic shards in winter year 1, 2 from the quarry on the first day it opened and 2 from monster drops in the mines. I think I used all my luck for my playthrough lol

But I’m always confused about something : when you check to see if an item is needed for the community center, just grazing your cursor over each thing into your inventory, what exactly do you look at to know ? Everything just looks the same to me from a « already done it » item to a « I need this one » item ToT
On the top right, there's a button/symbol that pulsates whenever you hover over an item that is needed for the community center. It only works when you look through a chest though, if you just open your inventory on the go the button is missing. And only works if the bundle is unlocked already.

I played stardew a couole years ago, only the first few days then i got bored because i didnt understand there was more to it than planting stuff and watering it, now that im older and followed trhough some of your playtrhoughs im HOOKED

How do you make fishing look so easy? I just started playing after watching the streams for a while and for the life of me I cannot do the fishing :c is there a tip or something I don't know on how to do it? Does anyone know?
Haboo has a video with tips for how to do the fishing beyond the basic tips (use the training rod to make it easier). If you reeeeaaally hate fishing you could also try to level up your fishing with fish ponds and crab pots instead, they give a little fishing XP when harvested. Would take much longer though. Fishing food also helps. Once your fishing is leveled up some, it does get easier, though then there are also harder fish later. I think that practice really helps with getting the finger control down.
I had the worst luck fishing up until I maxed it out and got the upgraded iridium rod, now I use the better bait and the trap and cork bobbers stacked. Eat a fishing meal and fish will rarely get away from you!

People say you have to have one from each category to win the display, but my son and I just did it with 9 iridium eggs. I've never bothered with different categories and win every time.
