Sounds to me like your old clutch was not fully releasing. If the clutch is dragging a bit that will cause gears to be hard to engage. You are basically shifting without the clutch. That is real hard on the sincros too. Had any grinding when downshifting?
I'm installing a ESC Tuning Stage 1 clutch kit and flywheel. ( Not a OEM fit on 02j vw transmission) will have to shave bell housing for flywheel clarence. Step 25 🤬 and shave 1/4 down bolts they sent in the kit for the Flywheel Wtf ECS
Hey Sean. Love that I recognize all the roads you are on. Haha. My boss is stuck in the garage, and all kinds of parts to put on this winter. Spec stage 2+, lightened steel wheel, and all the other stuff. Also aluminum one piece drive shaft, and upper and lower links for the rear end and panhard. All adjustable. MGW race spec shifter and JLT oil separator. That should do me for a bit...
No chatter really. I like spec clutches as they act and feel similar to a OEM clutch. The twin disc clutches while being able to handle more power tend to be the type that chatter. Just depends on your power goals.
Got yourself a new sub! I have a 2012 Boss 302 Race Red. Any reason for choosing SPEC over McLeod? You mentioned having other McLeod parts, so I figure you thought a while about this combo.
Welcome to the channel! I wanted to try the Spec clutch out over the McLeod because I am still debating over what to do with the MT-82. The car is mainly a daily driver too so have a single disc is nice not having to hear clutch chatter all the time.
From what I understand yes you can have your stock flywheel resurfaced. The spec clutch is the same size as the stock unit. If you went Twin disc you should upgrade the flywheel as they are a different size.
MGW First Gen. Will replace this shifter and the Blowfish racing bracket with the MGW Race Space as it kind of is like both items combined. The first gen MGW has a rattle when combined with the Blowfish racing bracket.
Been looking for a clutch for my 3.8 genesis coupe this helps out alot👌

neal terrio sounds like you will have a busy winter. Thanks for watching!
neal terrio where you at? I got a 13 yellow in Vancouver
I’m out in the prairies. Previously hailed from Murrayville/Langley but now in Winnipeg.
@@SeanMcGuigan would you recommend it for 2.9 Whipple supercharged mustang gen 1 ?
Love your channel thanks so much for the info. I just pick up a 2013 stock gt.
Right on!
Do you get much chatter in the lower rpm range? How has it broken in for the past two years?
No chatter really. I like spec clutches as they act and feel similar to a OEM clutch. The twin disc clutches while being able to handle more power tend to be the type that chatter. Just depends on your power goals.
How's the clutch setup since the video was made?
Been awhile but it was solid with no issues.
What flywheel did you use? Was it a spec wheel??
Steel spec flywheel.
Hmm. I’m guessing stage 1 clutch is more than good enough for my 03 Mustang GT lol.

I hopefully will be getting a 2012 Race Red 302 and your videos are awesome and get me so excited
Thanks! I hope you find the perfect Boss!
Where did you buy the clutch from, Mopac?
Actually ordered it from lmr.com. They had the best prices on everything
Cool thanks. I'm thinking my Red '13 Boss with 2k needs a real clutch, before the stocker grenades the MT82. The MGW is nice but hasn't helped much
Hey man question did you have chatter in neutral to like 1500 rpms with this clutch?
If you're in neautral you shouldn't be getting any kind of chatter nor vibration.
Can i reuse my stock flywheel?
Yes
could i use my stovk flyweel with a new stage 2 spec clutch? or maybe ust get the flywheel resurfaced? let me know thanks

thank you for the info nd reply

Awesome video
Spec has been plauged with 100 percent failure rate on one of my platforms. Springs and rivets explode. Avoid at all costs
I've got a Spec stage 1 with a lightweight flywheel in my 05 Mustang GT, it has worked flawlessly for the last three years .
Has anybody ever threw one in a 06 2500 Silverado? Obviously a gas 6.0
Bc boy !!!!!
I install this shit one time and i got.chatter. stage 2 with ark flywheel. Horroble experience lost money
👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
