- www.beabetterproducer.com In part 2, Jim Bond shows how he created the beat for the Jim Jones track "Bright Lights Big City". Jim explains what a "fake" chorus is and the importance of "turnarounds" in beats. This is also a great FL Studio tutorial! Jim, this is a very useful and well put together set of videos. great work. I'd love to see more of these and see what else you have worked on. I'd also be interested in how things worked out for you.
nice post
bro im dying to use this instrumental ive been looking for this beat since hs
I coulda sworn that long keyboard loop was from Rush's 'Tom Sawyer' intro. Reminds me of it...nice work
Congrats your beat went from Jim jones all the way to Diddy at num 1 on 106 and park, well i think its still in the count down if you havent notice. thanks for making this Video it help me so much. Keep up the good wrok an you got a fan in Me!! Holla
Its the business man
It's hard to say unless I actually saw the sample. If you have samples with instruments that are playing long notes at a high volume (like loud horns), naturally it's going to sound more chopped. The parts I use in this beat are mainly drums with some low stuff in the background, so it doesnt sound too chopped.
Then when you add more stuff on top, it sounds even less chopped.
in the begining the beat sounds like angels by dirty and p.diddy
dope video, I def agree with the "necessity" of turn arounds..(no homo) if you're using a loop.
splitzwizard was here
@keithson4 fl studio is as powerful as the producer remember that fl is fucking amazing
how do u do the cutoff on the scream?
Pretty much the same as any other beat. But if you have a sample you need to clear, you are going to take a hit somewhere whether it's giving up publishing or they try to take money out of your advance (or the whole thing) to help clear the sample. But all of these things are up for negotiation.
UPLOAD THE INSTRUMENTal !!!
It's out in the wild. A few people did freestyles on it. Gotta dig.
You made this beat for Jim Jones?
Quick question, how do yours sound so.. put together? I'm doing something similar to this video (different sample) and it just sounds copied and pasted together. They sound good all in all but they don't flow well... Any ideas?
yo dude is there anyway to clean up a sample I'm tired of sampling and getting a muddy sounding cut from old records and shit? should I use EQ? or the soundgoodizer?
I love samlping but I need them to get cleared or giving the beat away for free - how do you guys make money out of a sample used beat ?
They paid me to use it up front. I lost all my publishing because of the sample though.
Jim... how do you get fruityloops to sound sexy? Is there a certain button for that?
good vid man , go cehck out my beats made in flstudio i need some tips
