A racoon will have an easy meal, the nesting box isn't deep enough....as the ducks will add at least 5" of nesting material...Thanks for the video and your conservation efforts are commendable.
This guy has a great hunting ethic. He is 100% correct. What we want to do is to build up the ecosystem and then harvest off the excess. The Earth is still recovering from the extinctions that took place after the Ice Age. Add to that the extinctions we have caused through our mismanagement of the ecosystem. What we see when we all go out hunting and fishing is a depleted ecosystem, a mere ghost of the abundance that it once was. It can and should be rebuilt. All hunters and fishermen ought to be at the forefront of the ecological movement. We don’t need to preserve it as someplace that it off limits to humans. We need to inhabit it, use it and learn to be its protector and caretaker. This guy is doing it and so should you!
As hunters sportsman in conservationist we should put back at least twice as much as we take. I'm constantly doing habitat improvement for whitetail deer on my farm I've put out several wood duck nesting boxes I've yet to do any Mallard tubes but that's on the schedule I think for this week.

Depends where. My Brit wife says the UK have no racoons.

Hey man youre preaching to the choir when it comes to conservation!!! thats why im here!! already onboard partner
You used the 20# sledge because you only have to swing it half as many times. Good job.
Did the mallard tube work out?
Ok that tree they are as good as dead.
How do you keep the raccoons climbing up to the wood duck nest
@@rodneywhiting4049 Mount it on a pole with a predator guard, and no trees around predators can jump
from.
How did these turn out ?
good wood ducks used the box to nest!
The woodie box looks a little smaller than others I've seen, glad it worked! Any problem with Wood and Mallards nests near each other?
