my mom loved Conway Twitty until the day she passed, she especially loved to hear his song Hello Darlin, she would just get all dreamy eyed when she heard those two words R.I.p mama
I have several Conway songs on my playlist that I listen to every day . We went to see him in concert and he was awesome . He died way to soon. You should listen to “ I See the Want To in Your Eyes” lol “Don’t take it away “is my fav by Conway
I am now 64. Lol! Love it. I was blessed to see Conway Twitty and Loretta Lynn perform together when I was 15. They were awesome and more awesome when they sung together. Love them both ❤
My mom's favorite singer! I grew up listening to Conway and Charlie Pride, another of my mom's favorite. Woke up for school every morning to her listening to one of those 2 men...lol.
In college, i introduced my dorm mate, to Conway Twitty. He asked his kom if she knew him. Her andwer was , "if I'd known him as well as i wanted to as a girl. He'd be your father"
He has amazing songs! Here's a few. You've never been this far before, Goodbye time, slow hand, Hello Darlin', Don't cry Joni( his daughter sings Joni's part.) He also sings duets with Loretta Lynn. Your the reason our kids are ugly, When I hang up the phone and Mississippi woman, Louisiana man. Loved the song and reaction ☮️
Like all the other ladies, l LOVE Conway Twitty!!! This soon to be 63 yr old Lady saw Conway perform twice. Once as a teenager & again in my early 30's. He was great. My favorite song is, "You've never been this far before." We lost him way too soon. I also saw Loretta Lynn twice, but unfortunately, l never saw them perform together.😢 You would love their duets. My favorite duet team & favorite song is, "Louisiana Woman, Mississippi Man." Pick any song they sing together. You won't be sorry. The sexiest voices in Country Music, Conway Twitty & Marty Robbins. They both left us too soon. Classic Country Music forever
This was my mom's song. She was a comptroller at a car dealership here in South Carolina. On Fridays, the employees wore jeans to work, and all the guys would sing this song as mom walked by. She would blush every time. 😊
Conway started in R&R the same time as Elvis. Kind of 'sex-symbol' rivals. Conway was losing, (by very little), moved to country, and solidified his place. For a more modern take on the same topic, check out Trace Adkins, "Honky Tonk Badonk-a-donk."
I recall my mom laying out in the sun w/the radio playing, me as a kid, and saw her crying...I asked what was wrong, she said "Conway just died, they are playing all of his songs". So yeah, Conway had a way w/the ladies. I recall hearing "Hello Darlin'" as an all time fav, and I always liked (even as a kid) "It's Only Make Believe"...I loved the tense feel of it and the build in the lyrics, it seemed dramatic, not just a regular song to me, lol. 😎
Conway Twitty (lovingly nicknamed Conrad Tweety Bird) was HUGELY popular and half the women in America had a crush on him. He sang several songs with Loretta Lynn, they were awesome together! My mom simply adored him and his music played frequency at our house. Like another poster here, you could see her get all dreamy when he sang "Hello, darlin'". We giggled, it was cool to watch her get that "starstruck teenager" look on her face.
Conway is one of the greatest. You have got to listen to "I See the Want to in Your Eyes." It is an amazing song and shows why Conway had the reputation he did with women back in the day.
During this era their were several country artists who sang controversial songs but did so respectfully. Some other artists to check out are Charlie Rich (behind closed doors) he was often referred to as the Liberace’ of country music for the way he dressed and played the piano. Also Loretta Lynn (the pill, fist city) are a couple of great artists just to name a few.
You don’t Just listen to Conway Twitty you experience him and tells a story like nobody else can he was the true king of country music he sold more then the Beatles think about that for a minute outsold the Beatles
Beer as you wondered, it's not the drinking of beer at a bar per say, it's the time hanging out, having a great time with good people and yes a having a few adult beverages (beer or whatever) also involved. Conway was nothing but a great classy performer with awesome music.
I was about 9 years old; late '80s. The Ringley Bros brought the g*damn circus to town in Charleston, WV. Mom asked if I wanted to go for my birthday. I said if it'd be alright I'd rather go to the Conway Twitty / George Jones show at the Civic Center. She said that's my job. Sat top row, and my first concert was a killer. Rocked a Conway tshirt with his Slow Hand perma'fro front and center all through high school. Thanks for laying down that memory.
This is my favorite song of all time. I had the honor of meeting him twice...and he sang it to me twice. Once at 4, he was walking around the audience and passed us several times. I knew every word when he walked by and he was impressed. He stopped to talk and invited my grandpa and I on stage. He asked my favorite song and sang this to me. I met him again when I was 12 and he remembered me...and my song. He sang it to me again and I got to spend several hours with him. He was a class act and a real talent. He was so warm and kind and genuinely seemed to love his fans. He and his talent are greatly missed.
Conway did a lot of sexy music. Slow Hands & You’ve Never Been This Far are the first that come to mind. But his voice is showcased singing It’s only Make Believe & Hello Darlin’.
Beer was the drink of the common workers. In ancient times builders, soliders, etc were paid in beer. It was a great way to get your grains and unwind. The wine was given to royalty and priests. And that is how its always been.
I think 'Hey, Loretta' is a funny shout-out to Conway. It's hilarious. When I saw the music video of Maggie Baugh and Home Free do the song 'To the Moon and Back' all I could think of was this song.
We always joked that Conway was a dirty old man😅. He had a handful of songs that were pretty frisky for their day. This one, Love to lay you down, Never been this far before, etc.
I met him once when he was between shows. He and the band stopped at our local diner and had dinner . He was nice friendly and down to earth. He passed away from a stomach . aneurysm. He was only 59. Others hits from 1970's 1980s Hello Darlin, I Love To Lay You Down, It’s Only Make Believe. Slow Hand, You've Never Been This Far Before. JUST A FEW TO GET YOU STARTED
Two of his best were I KNOW YOU’VE NEVER BEEN THIS FAR BEFORE, and I LOVE TO LAYYOU DOWN. He had several songs that tiptoed the line of what was allowed in those days. And everyone loved them. Along with Kenny Rogers, he knew how to appeal to the ladies.
Conway always had very suggestive songs, I'd Love to Lay You Down, You've Never Been This Far Before, Touch the Hand of the Man Who Made You a Woman just to name a few
My mother made me love Conway Twitty he has got so many songs and it is just amazing this is one of my favorites my absolute favorite song to his is the rose 🌹🌹 the clown is another good a little underrated but really good
Right, hanging out country meant going to, preferably, a local bar. This was before most bars could sell liquor. We drank beer, danced, maybe played some pool (if the bar had a table) and hook up (if that was your intention). Music from that time could not just come right out and say sexual stuff (censors) so they had to lay out the dots and leave ti to you to connect them. Comway walked that line (and sometimes stuck a toe or two across it) in many of his songs but somehow he managed to do it in a way that the censors had to let pass.
Sebs, I grew up listening to Country Music on AM radio. I was sequestered in a car for an hour-and-a-half drive up to the mountains in New Mexico to beat the heat in El Paso, every weekend. I hated Country Music. It was the 60s, and I wanted to hear Rock & Roll. Country Music was all that was played on those long drives. Long story short, I started listening to Country Music in the mid-70s because of Willie Nelson. I found I knew all the words to all the old songs. I'm definitely a fan of Country Music now.
Just want to point out there's lots of shots sold in those bars. 😂 Lot of us never drank beer, still don't but had a lot of tequila shots way back in the day. It was a long time ago but have some wonderful memories.
Beer is the legal drug that so many people have experienced all their lives. Plus, there are lots of German Americans in the US. These aren't Nazis or whatever, they are just people from the western European countries that came to America. My Grandmother came over during WWI. Peace, Love!!
Not every singer could get away with a song called I'd Love To Lay You Down or one called Slow Hands, but Conway had hits with them.
You beat me to these suggestions!
@Rebecca Waid I love all three of em. The one he did and the 2 you mentioned lol. My momma loved to dance so we listened to a LOT of Conway. 😂
Dont forget"I can tell you've never been this far before" by Conway Twitty ☺
Conway had a one of a kind voice & it was smooth.
Conway was and always will be a true country legend and he's loved by many
“It’s Only Make Believe” is my favorite song by Conway. It’s one of his earliest hits. “Don’t Cry Joni” is another great song by him.

Conway was called the best friend a song ever had. He had more #1 hits than the Beatles. 51 or 52 #1 songs. Love him❤
I have several Conway songs on my playlist that I listen to every day . We went to see him in concert and he was awesome . He died way to soon.
You should listen to “ I See the Want To in Your Eyes” lol

Yeah Conway is the country baby maker, so many of us were conceived to Conway music 🤣
This song and "Baby got her blue jeans on" were 2 of my favorite songs way back when. TY for the great reaction!
Conway Twitty sang some very risqué songs but he was ALWAYS respectful. And such a great voice.
My mom's favorite singer! I grew up listening to Conway and Charlie Pride, another of my mom's favorite. Woke up for school every morning to her listening to one of those 2 men...lol.
This is one of my favorite Conway Twitty songs. So glad you enjoyed it!
In college, i introduced my dorm mate, to Conway Twitty. He asked his kom if she knew him. Her andwer was , "if I'd known him as well as i wanted to as a girl. He'd be your father"
😂😂😂 okie here, my mom said similar. 😂😂
Hilarious!
😂😂😂
🤣
Right
Loved Conway. I was so upset when he passed away from a stomach aneurysm in 1993. Country music lost a wonderful man and singer
Oh Sebs, you have one heck of journey ahead of you with Conway Twitty music!
“I’d Love to Lay You Down”. “Slow Hand”, “Hello Darlin’”, and many more
Beer is the common man's drink. Rich people drink champagne and wine. But the common Men enjoy the beer
It's cheap and allows us to get drunk if we want. At least before 2021 we could spend $20 on beer and be set for the week.
well I always loved Conway and still do
He has amazing songs! Here's a few. You've never been this far before, Goodbye time, slow hand, Hello Darlin', Don't cry Joni( his daughter sings Joni's part.) He also sings duets with Loretta Lynn. Ironically, Conway Twitty was well known for never having touched alcohol. Or drugs. Unusual for someone in the music industry.
I got to see him in concert. When the lights went and he delivered the Hello Darlin line the paties and bras were flying at him!😂😂😂
Conway has always been a favorite of mine... Hello Darlin' and I'd Like To Lay You Down... are 2 of my favorites.. he has so many tho. ❤ thank you
This was my mom's song. She was a comptroller at a car dealership here in South Carolina. On Fridays, the employees wore jeans to work, and all the guys would sing this song as mom walked by. She would blush every time. 😊

Conway was the best! This was just one of his 55 number 1 songs. Check out "It's Such a Heartache."
Yes! More Conway Twitty!
"Linda on my mind" is another great song by Conway
Love this classic country!
Conway is one of the greatest. You have got to listen to "I See the Want to in Your Eyes." It is an amazing song and shows why Conway had the reputation he did with women back in the day.

Conway's best story is "That's My Job". It'll make you tear up.
Amen!
I saw him and Loretta Lynn together in concert. It was a great concert.

Conway was a gentleman and those old school gentlemen didn't tell you if they scored. But yeah, I'd say she rocked his world that night.
OH MY GOODNESS!! Love this song from my childhood!! Most amazing song!
I was about 9 years old; late '80s. The Ringley Bros brought the g*damn circus to town in Charleston, WV. Mom asked if I wanted to go for my birthday.

This was her "one night fantasy" and Conway was shall we say, in the right place at the right time.
Conway did a lot of sexy music. Slow Hands & You’ve Never Been This Far are the first that come to mind. But his voice is showcased singing It’s only Make Believe & Hello Darlin’.
Oh my Conway will always make me excited LOL 😆
Goodbye Time is my favorite by Conway. This man is OG for sure. ❤
Beer was the drink of the common workers. In ancient times builders, soliders, etc were paid in beer. It was a great way to get your grains and unwind. The wine was given to royalty and priests. And that is how its always been.
Oh yeah! Nice tune. Suds is still the favorite drink of the common man after a hard days work. Very simple reward. Very blue collar song .
Beer - Champagne of the working class. Love Conway.
He was called "The Best Friend a Song Ever Had" for a reason.
Great reaction to one of the true country greats. And you are right, he melted women. Try Hello Darlin and Slow Hand and Love To Lay You Down.
I think 'Hey, Loretta' is a funny shout-out to Conway. It's hilarious. When I saw the music video of Maggie Baugh and Home Free do the song 'To the Moon and Back' all I could think of was this song.
Finally one of the reaction channels I watch covers my favorite Conway song. Love ya Sebs.

The amount of innuendo in this song is so incredible...he says so much without coming out and being explicit, unlike so many singers today.
You've got to do "Id Love To Lay You Down" & "You've Never Been This Far Before"...ultimate ladies man!😆🎶🎵🎸
You are now listening to Conway Twitty. Congratulations!, you have now fully transitioned into a full-blown country boy! Welcome to the club!.....lol

Ladies and gentlemen, Mr. Conway Twitty
Conway always had very suggestive songs, I'd Love to Lay You Down, You've Never Been This Far Before, Touch the Hand of the Man Who Made You a Woman just to name a few
A song similar is by a band; "the nitty gritty dirt band." The song is; "modern day romance."
He was a ladies man in his day. Women would scream over him even in his later years. He just had it! LOL!!😂😎👍💛

You need to know Conway was very shy, very conservative, and always thought he was lacking.
Love Conway. My mothers cousin.
And don’t forget his duets with Loretta!!!
You have the best smile ❤
Dude, Conway was a country pimp. That man done things to women with that voice and bravado that most men could only dream about
Beer is for good ol boys. That and whiskey.
Conway said he spoke for the ordinary guy who just couldn’t find the words.
Country Royalty! You cant go wrong with any of his songs!
Beer is for drinkin' and whiskey if for drunkin'!

I used to perform some Conway songs myself. Always popular
You want class? " When I say I do " by Clint Black.

You go to a bar in rural America in the 80’s. Not a lot of places to have manhattans, vodka tonics and martinis in rural America.
Now got him to do a reaction to Mac Davis It's hard to be humble :)
