Hi Thabang, thank you for stopping by , just to clarify I’m not an immigration consultant, which country are you from? I advised the other viewer to go the hostel part as their country is within the EU so they have free movement to live and work here as long as they like, free entry would only allow you free entry IF the immigration consultant is happy with your reasons for the visit , this only allows you to enter and visit and go back ,hoping this adds some clarity

I work from home in South Galway. Only real problem is storms tend to knock the power out and since it is not a very densely populated region I live in, it means it can take 3 hours or so to get the power back on. The city is prioritised which is fair enough. I invested in a generator but haven’t had to use it yet.

Thank you for stopping by , the below link shows the current skills added to critical skills visas, please take a look to see if your profession was added
~in terms of expenditure it depends on where you are going, Dublin will be very expensive in comparison to other areas in the country, like more than half expensive in some cases, The most expensive thing for families is childcare unless your partner won’t be working, childcare care for a child that age can be around 1000€ and over per month, Rent in Dublin is also pricey , above 1000 it gets cheaper after 3 years , are you guys married as that would give you tax credit as well leaving you with a little bit more cash
Check www.daft.ie for rental prices in Ireland it will give you an indication on what to expect rent cost
If you can get a good offer especially outside of Dublin then why not , it’s a beautiful country

The basic problem is that the people in Irish politics and planning were institutionally incapable of even considering a growing population.
As Dessie O'Malley, the founder of the Progressive Democrats, put it, "People of my generation were trained to deal with DECLINE!" The idea was that the last, well educated, Irish citizen/emigrant would turn off the electricity and leave the key under the mat before getting the boat to the USA, Canada or Britain.
No-one EVER thought about planning for an expanding economy or a growing population.
The Irish reaction when the first surge of IMMIGRATION happened was a bit like "WTF? Why are these people coming HERE? Are they mad?"
So we have a massive amount of catch-up to do in terms of planning, institutional attitudes about housing density and building heights, and regional planning.
Hence housing crisis, sky high rents and house prices, and the uncontrolled expansion of Dublin.

In the context of an Irish economy valued, conservatively, at more than USD 0.5 TRILLION(Half a trillion USD), €300 billion is not a big deal at all.
Our debt/GDP ratio is smaller than the UK's and is dropping faster than theirs...
