I feel like she originally had a RPG hero goal, but became bent on revenge after the "demon" destroyed her home village and family, and now feels that she now has no heart, and has stopped caring about others.
I feel like the last thing that should show on screen after "even if i die, it doesn't matter" is the quote "...because whoever wins will become 'Justice'." because, really, if good and evil can only exist with each other, then no matter who wins, it's pointless. Winning only defines who gets to be "Good" and the other is "the enemy" or just "bad". And then Doflamingo comes in with his magical quote, further proving in-distinction between good and bad: "justice" and "evil".
I just imagine all the great hero/villain rivalries of all great video games singing along to this as they duel...for some reason, I'm partial to Metroid while listening to this (Samus/Ridley), even though swords and princesses are mentioned...but it really fits for just about any good/evil rivalry.
I like how the song shows the dark side of being a hero; a lot of people imagine what it would be like but have a perfect version of it. If we were really honest with ourselves, being a hero would be very taxing and would cause us to lose a lot.
This song is very deep, i mean we all no something happens and the hero saves the day but its what happens after the day is saved that the song talks about and the depressing life waiting for every "hero" after his/her journey is over. It casts a different light on the whole day is saved happily every after approach to most hero endings
In the end of all great battles some realized they didn't really want to protect anything... to you all you wanted... all you cared about was the battle... you don"t care about the details anymore on about the fact that you want to fight. That"s the kind of fighter this song tells.
Miku's just trying to get revenge for what happened in this song (her mother dying), she's very tired of all this and just wants it to end, think that if a real hero went out to kill the "Boss" then they only get one attempt, so it's better that she's thinking this way anyway, would be bad to go into a battle you have a 50% or lower chance of making it out of while caring about you're life. ^^
God this song is so depressing Because I mean think about it, you beat the villain, then what? You just live your life peacefully having more power than anyone on the planet? How could anyone go back to living a normal life after that?
Well I'd basically pull a Goku I'm only good for Fighting and killing at this point time to find a way to new realities/universes that are on my power level because that will make me feel alive again
@Trublhappn it's because the one on the left is singing. if you watch, their mouths move with their lyrics-- at some parts both of their mouths move at the same time :3 hope this helped~
man to finally listen to the original song XD. ive only listened to the valshe version where she sings both rin and len. to be honest this song speaks the truth.
Was she fighting and philosophizing with Heroic Archer Spirit Emiya? Or has she actually shared his fate? Resolves and composures crumble before such awesomeness.
I agree - the flat tone in this is actually more fitting to the meaning... if I understood it. The singing is a lot better in valshe's cover, but the meaning changes if you only watch the art that they did for that one. It's too heroic, too naive. Too happy.
Everybody who actually read the Fate Visual Novel might feel some parallels between that song and the dilemma of the main character. Jokes aside, the topics are so incredibly close that I bet either the maker of this song or of the story got some ideas from the other. This song is beyond great.
...i dont get it....well i gat alot of the themes like good and evil are two sides of the same coin but...like the i dont care which one of dies and stuff...(theres alot of elypsises becuase i feel weird not knowing what it means) can someone explain this?
4 years late, yay! But, I think the meaning is that none of them has anything to lose at this point: the "hero" has lost everything and only wants to destroy the Boss/Demon, who doesn't really care about anything either but to throw all his strength in a battle against the "hero". They know that whatever the outcome of the battle is, it won't change anything, thus it doesn't matter which of them dies or falls. Sorry if it didn't make it clear, I'm not always good at explaining. Also, this is my interpreation of it, but I feel like it makes sense.

This was the first vocaloid song I ever listened to. Thank you for introducing me into this community.

TheAvataroo that makes alot of sense

Amazing how this song still kicks absolute ass all these years later :^)
rediscovered this again.... just as good as I remember 🥰

Still my favorite Miku song in 2020!

playing this during the last episode of Higurashi during the rena/keiichi fight is.... EPIC
This is incredible! I love how it shows the opposite side of a hero's cause.
Cant believe this was 13yrs ago when it feels like yesterday when i listen to this
OMG THIS SOUNDS JUST LIKE SOMETHING STRAIGHT OUT OF TALES OF THE ABYSS. the beggining atleast :) and tales of symphonia
They say a hero in war becomes a mass murderer in peace.... This song is pretty deep, couldn't have put it into better words.

Well done! You've truly impressed me.
I like Miku's version.
Indeed superior and superior cross are very very close to this song, booth by meaning and by awesomeness.
Wow...... the drawings are SOOO beautiful in this video.... x3
God this song is so depressing

I prefer Valshe's version because of all its emotion.
But Miku's 'meh' attitude about this song really fits...
This is such a classic!

This song shows how the balance of peace is destroyed by the war of evil and goodness that is going on forever
@NintenHedgehog I think the nuisance part comes when they expect you to do something for them, and then you realize that you just can't anymore..
This is FREAKING AWESOME
Click the link in the description that says Nicosound. Then click the box that says "パソコンへ転送".
Death... like a boss!
Was she fighting and philosophizing with Heroic Archer Spirit Emiya? Or has she actually shared his fate? Resolves and composures crumble before such awesomeness.
Is there an English cover for this done in an Archer emiya voice if so WHERE IS IT!
I love this song, thank you! ^^
the song is beautiful to damn
IM FUCKING DEAD I FOUND THIS MUSIC I LISTENED TO IT YEARS AGO AND I STILL REMEMBER THE LYRICS IM SO HAPPY I LOVE IT

thanks for translation
@Gwendun every vocaloid song seems like a good opening for an anime xD
Everybody who actually read the Fate Visual Novel might feel some parallels between that song and the dilemma of the main character. Jokes aside, the topics are so incredibly close that I bet either the maker of this song or of the story got some ideas from the other.
This song is beyond great.
I wish I could find more music of this specific style ((not the band or vocaloid just this songs flow and way of arrangement))
Sounds like Megaman videogames soundtrack! This songs kicks ass!
i think the lyrics is so cool!
love it!!!
This is currently my favorite Hatsune Miku song....
@Hakkun9872
You were just looking for an excuse to cut Barney in two, weren't you? XD
crazy awesome
this is good!!
@Hakkun9872 : eh thanks. She doesn't bother me while I'm on the computer now. =D
Speaking of an mp3 converter, its in the description.
I love Armada Death. But I think both are equally awesome.
Armada Death was sung by only one person! O.O
@abschussrampe Please, the manga 'Superior' was way closer to this. It ends up with the ex-demon lord trying to kill her copy with the hero.
@kadf1999 you mean the kagamine rin and len version? if so then i agree
@NinjaSarah16
Whew. I thought I was the only one who thought that XD

@someonedesperated ive done tht b4 on Bayaneta during the final boss sequence lol
This song reminds me of how i could've been a hero to someone even if i had to die in the process to make it come true^_^
Why does this make me think of Legend of Zelda? o.o Maybe I'm just too big of a fan of both..
LOVE IT! One of my total favorites so far. =D

Mp3 converter ftw? Can't be helping too much o else...
@elitevillan5 No it isn't this is Miku's voice, I'm sure of it. There's no mistaking it. Are you sure you're on the right video?
I wonder if this is actually referencing the black rock shooter rpg...
It seems like both the Hero and Boss alike have become apathetic
What do you mean she sings LIKE a boss???
Okay... V0C@L0!D RPG. Someone needs to make that.
Miku: "It doesn't matter which of us dies"
Myself: .... It matters to me!
Is there an off vocal version of this??? If there is please send it to me!!! I really want the off vocal version!!!
@elitevillan5 You do realize this was posted in 2009?
@Trublhappn ya lol i do

miku: we cool.
@Hakkun9872 : My little cousin started to cry when she read that. ._.
I've heard rumors that this song might be in BlackRockShooter
@megapeachprincess lol I know I wuz thinking the same thing while watching the vid lol
@shisumi1 yes and secret police would play at the point where all the vocaloid go apend and defeat the final boss.......... nyan cat
I think I'm a little confused... Is Miku both the hero and villain? Or is the villain her lookalike? ...
Nicosound?
I suddenly want end something twice as me's life.
10 people lost to miku in the extra boss stage
@ShunaHaruno
Why so serious on the internet?
KICKASS!!!
